Yeah, I'm aware of #GG, though I did not know what SPJ or Airplay was. Thanks for the info. :)

Re: What made you feel giddy today?

So, watching an ad for free in-game money and it's for (yet another) ED pill. I'm watching the side effects scrolling along the bottom of the screen and then it hits the "Uncommon" ones.

- an erection that will not go away (priapism). If you have an erection that lasts more than 4 hours, get medical help right away

-sudden vision loss in one or both eyes. Sudden vision loss in one or both eyes can be a sign of a serious eye problem called nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION). Stop taking STENDRA and call your healthcare provider right away if you have sudden vision loss in one or both eyes

It was the second one that got me. So, what they're saying is, as I read it, "Yes, it WILL make you go blind."

Just found that funny.

Read Vladimir Putin's wikipedia article today, and looked around at some stuff about him on the internet. I never realized it was possible for a man of one of the most despicable professions available could be such a man's man, and furthermore, be so competent. I wish we were all a bit more like Putin.

You might want to try asking a few Russians about their opinion of him.

Actually, regardless of my opinion of the man, Putin's approval rating in Russia is exceptionally high.

Just don't be an oppositional journalist. :p

Re: What made you feel giddy today?

While this should make me weep for humanity, all I gotta ask is what is it about anonymous comments that make people think a comment like this is actually a good question to ask?

Cus gotta admit, I can't tell if this was a very cleverly constructed troll comment working off the praise/insult/praise form of logic or someone so dense that he thought that this was the type of idea to ask someone flat to the face.

It's anonymous tumblr asks, don't expect anything worthwhile from it.

Although I'm a bit annoyed at how she went immediately for the dick-shaming. Man, imagine all the guys out in the world with smaller dicks getting their physical trait associated with people who are simply assholes regardless of dick size for no apparent reason. *shrug*

Or a worker on the Sochi olympics actually wanting to get paid.

Well, I've never met a Russian that liked him, but I guess Russians who are abroad might be abroad for a reason. :p

Or, you know, any of the countries neighboring Russian?

Granted, I do think Putin is a badass, but I wouldn't willingly give him any sort of power. Although, after WW3 the world will have significantly less problems, being an irradiated rock tends to do that...

My friend just made an awesome typo and have created an awesome new word for urban dictionary.

Nadam (n): Used to address or refer to a hermaphrodite in a polite or respectful way.

Get it? Nads + Madam

Well, there are some countries that are fairly pro-Russian. Belarus and Kazakhstan comes to mind. On the other hand you have countries like Georgia and the Ukraine that shows what happens when former Soviet republics try to align with the west (although the Baltic states did all right). Of course, that's in reference to the political and economic elite, and not in reference to most people. Russia maintains an increasingly more friendly relationship with China, although China isn't as interested in antagonizing the US or the EU as Russia is, since China's economy depends much more on export to those very countries.

Kim Jong Un's approval rating is through the roof!
Well, as much as I think Russia's media is heavily manipulated (moreso than Western, at any rate) I do think Russian approval ratings are reasonably accurate as Russia is a very different beast than North Korea. :p

To a lot of Russians, Putin is the strong leader that is keeping Russia strong and afloat in the face of hypocritical Western politics that continue to try and debase Russia and deny it its, in their eyes, rightful place as one of the preeminent nations of the world.

Another thing is that Putin's party is strongly populistic and throws itself on whatever political currents are prevailing. In the last few years, Putin has lamented the fall of the Soviet Union (something that was highly controversial for the Russian right wing for a long time, although he is ex-KGB, so it's not too strange) and partly exonerated Stalin, yet on the other hand cozied up to the Orthodox Church (whom it'll be noted faced severe discrimination and persecution under the soviet era). Not to mention the flirting with right-wing extremists that are expousing a racist ideology against asian-russian migrants to the more industrualized west (compare to Americans who are really paranoid about mexicans).

Basically, Putin's political platform is basically "keeping Putin in office". XD

Re: What made you feel giddy today?

How subtlety the media is manipulated with and how much it's manipulated are two entirely different things. Being more blatant just means you aren't as good at it. Although granted, all the stuff coming up about putin that Hopeyouguess posted is super fucked up.

I still think he's one of the better politicians of the world simply in general, but only because the world standard for politicians is at a resounding low. At least he actually improves the economy instead of perpetuating and exacerbating an economic black hole that's abused for personal profit and is actually detrimental to the entire world, let alone his own Country. AT LEAST BETTER THAN OBAMA/BUSH/TRUMP.

Actually his economic gestures are primarily bent towards helping Gazprom, the state-run oil company in which Putin has major personal interests. Gazprom has also been used as an economic weapon (there's a history of it being used to cut off European states from energy as a strongarm negotiating tactic).

AT LEAST BETTER THAN OBAMA/BUSH/TRUMP.
Whoa. You're talking about three VERY different politicians, one of whom hasn't been elected (and hopefully never will be). Trump is the current frontrunner among Republicans with 30%... which means nothing more than 30% of Republicans are idiots. It also means that 70% are desperate to elect ANYONE ELSE. People also compare Trump to Ronald Reagan, an unfair comparison as Reagan served as a politician in lesser roles for years before attempting to run for president.

Bottom line: Trump is a loudmouthed buffoon who is attracting the crazies in the Republican party. I have faith that his constituency will ultimately consist of just the crazies (though I've been wrong before). And anyone from the Left who's eager to paint all the Republicans with the same brush should remember that the Democrats have their share of the crazies, too.

Re: What made you feel giddy today?

I feel like I'm in the position a lot of people are in, which is the "Democrat by default" position. There's many more registered republicans than democrats, almost 3 times as much last I checked, and yet most independents go left. I just look at democrats and think "Ugh, yeah, no thanks." Then look at republicans and go "Oh FUCK no!"

Re: What made you feel giddy today?

In economic matters, I generally stand with Republicans. In social matters, I generally stand with Democrats. But it's a little more complicated than that. For example, I've always supported gay marriage, but I don't believe we should attack those that believe differently (I feel like the Left went overboard with Chick-fil-A and Mozilla Firefox, recently).
