Re: ULMF Minecraft Server (Address can be found on first post)

I was thinking pretty much all the materials except the easily obtained stuff like smoothstone/cobble, dirt, coal, wood etc... And the prices would probably have to be fairly high (Say, 2-3k per diamond? 300-400 per iron?) so that people would still have to work to get their materials, just through other means.

And what of the full restart for stats?

Sounds good. And I have no problem resetting stats. I know some people might be against it, so I'll withhold on making a decision just yet. Same thing goes for everything too, until I get moved and hooked up, everything's still up in the air.

Well, I didn't expect to be getting the stats back anyway, but I'll still tick 'Strongly Opposed' on this census. I'd be more understanding of a money-reset than a MCMMO reset, just so that we can get prices back to a fairly normal level - but MCMMO stats are fairly easy to get to a middling level of effectiveness (say something like 300), and don't improve that massively once at high levels (1000).

I'm game for resetting everything and going from scratch really.

In an interest of fairness, taking away all stats might be preferable. What about Jobs though? Are they still around, and will they be reset as well?

Well, there'd need to be a way to get money in the first place. There's two ways that I can think of, either use the Jobs plugin, or set up a shop similar to the special shop, but for selling things at reduced prices.

If Jobs is used, the stats for it will follow mcMMO's, that is, reset if mcMMO's are and kept if mcMMO's are.

Why not do both? Set up a global sell shop to sell off some items, and have people able to earn money through jobs.

Because then someone with a job to say, dig dirt would earn money for digging, and then could also go and sell the dirt they don't want (and really, who wants dirt anyway?). I mean, it's not a major issue, but it does unbalance things a little. If everyone has a job, then it's not such a problem really... Yah, might do both then.

Well I imagine dirt wouldn't sell for much anyway seeing as it's everywhere. I was thinking about putting a stack of dirt in my shop for about 2.5g, and the global sell shop for dirt could be something like 0.01g per dirt block.

I'd very much like to keep my stats, I spent many days worth punching creepers in the face and jumping off cliffs to get them, feel free to take my money though.

And in regards to mining and selling dirt, isn't it possible for shops to buy items stack-wise for X boondollars? That way a stack of dirt could be worth a miniscule amount, but still something that gives 'some' extra profit from such a straightforward job.

Oh yeah, not sure if you know about it already but there's a program called BukkitGUI that simplifies everything for Bukkit servers, top of the list being you can use it to search the mod database and easily install the mods through it.

Oh, that sounds great. I'll definitely look into that.

And yah, for common crap like dirt or stone, the shops would be buying whole stacks, or even multiple stacks (which I believe it can do... could be mistaken).

Yeah, multiple stacks can be bought. It's however much is in the chest prior to having set up the shop. So you could have one shop buying a single dirt block and another buying 10 stacks at a time.

At some point I propose we all get together and do . It's a kind of Minecraft version of the Hunger Games, so we would need quite a few players splitting into teams of two people. Not sure how we'd go about doing it, though we could wait until Maiko's sorted everything out or one of us could run it whilst the rest of us play.

Now why did I not think of that myself when I watched that video the first time around? This is a great idea and I'd happily die horribly trying to win it.

Re: ULMF Minecraft Server (Address can be found on first post)

I'm thinking about running a Hunger Games style game on Saturday using the map from that video I posted in a previous post. Before I do commit to it though I want to see how many people are actually interested in joining, and what time are you available if you are interested.

Sounds pretty fun to me!

I think my sleep pattern would work for Saturday, but I'd need more details (what time, what server, what mods, if any, would be required) before I could commit to it.

It sounds fun... but I'm unsure of what Saturday holds for me at the moment.

My server, vanilla, and like I said, it depends on what time other people can get on. To run this I'd probably need about eight people interested at least. The map is pretty huge after all.
