Thing is, I never had to do that in Nutaku.
Here I don't have time to level anything. And then I get nothing but "oh, this is easy you should've just do it no problem" and the link a strategy that does not work, because I don't have the stats to make it work. With the 90/12 100+ enemies map the reason I didn't try the silver tactic was because my silvers are not maxed out and I thought they would be overwhelmed. And you know what? They were. Last night I tried it and I got worse results than with my own strategy. That map was absolutely unbeatable with what I have. But nooooo, that cannot possibly be, this is such a noob friendly event, I must be a moron for not doing better, right?
As for why Fayne is doing better, well for one, he's probably better than me figuring out tactics. But there's also the fact, that he got Livre from a premium pull very early on, so he could easily rush through the story maps and reach the desert. On the other hand I had to use lvl 10 irons to level out my units enough so that I can pass Castle Retake. That took weeks. Also, he has a much better Emperor than I do thanks to this. So basically he has at least two units that could beat the snot out of my entire team. Equal resources my ass.
And as I final point, I came over from Nutaku so that I could experience all the cool shit: a slew of new units and events (remember, most things in the daily rotation were completely new to me as well). So that's what I'm focused on. I don't want to level the same old boring units I've been using for over a year on Nutaku, to grind the dailies using the same old tactics and grind the same old story maps when I have all the shiny new stuff to look at. It's boring to do so. And it's immensely frustrating to see event after event passing me by not even trying for a higher grade reward and only getting subpar versions of the units. If you tell me to just ignore all that and focus on grinding story maps and level the same old core team (mostly silvers), then don't bother. Because if that's the only way to get anywhere, then I probably should just quit. Because I sure as shit don't have the patience to do the slow grind for a second time. That's why I opted for leveling premium/event units instead of silvers and only resorted to leveling silvers where I had no other alternative. And I mostly intend to continue to do so. I will level some more key silver units, but overall I'll keep focusing on higher tier units, especially the ones that are new to me.
