Mary looks quite unhappy to have seen her second blast absorbed by the slime, aiming the next one carefully and firing it just as Ai was about to strike, hopefully forcing the slime to either hit her blast or get hit by Ai, if not both.

Mary's blast hits, but is absorbed again, the slime perhaps having some slight magical properties that allow it to deal with her magic. It also manages to dodge Ai's blow now that it's moving faster.

7 vs. 6

This time a ball of electricity hits Ai square in the chest, sending a shock through her body that makes her legs weak. Still, she's able to recover fairly quickly, as the slime doesn't seem to be interested in frying her.

"And here I was..." Ai thinks as she fails now, her strike evaded by the big slime. A slow recovery punishes her with a nasty shock, the girl barely managing to stay on her feet as the electricity runs through her body. Fighting off the fidgeting in her fingers, Ai gets her focus back to attack further, wanting to see the slime dead.

Mary looks unhappy to see her attack absorbed...she wondered about that cursed pendent, maybe it was time to see if she could tap into it's power...

Well, it was worth a shot, what's the worst that could happen?

A sinister voice suddenly intrudes into Mary's head as she invokes the pendant. If you will give me a part of your health I will grant you more power. A popup informs her

You can sacrifice a point of FP temporarily for a +1 to attack rolls for the rest of the battle.

Mary looked at the popup, unsure if she considered it worth it. She decided in the end...that worst case...she gets raped by a slime with Ai...and figured dark power was probably not any better than that. So she decided to decline the offer, she'd win or lose this battle on her own, with Ai of course.

The slime easily avoids Mary and Ai's attacks; now that it isn't slowed, it's been making them look almost silly with its skills.

16 vs. 21

Ai barely manages to deflect it's next electrical attack with her naginata, the bolt flying just over her shoulder.

8 vs. 20
4 vs. 19, Counter!

Mary's next blast is easily dodged, though Ai manages to slash the slime. Or maybe the slime simply allowed her to hit it, as the blade is stopped quickly, and Ai soon feels an electrical shock running through her.

19 vs. 8

She can't quite recover in time to avoid the next shock, and she falls to her knees briefly as the electricity works its way through her. She's a little bit shaky now, and probably can't take too much more of this abuse.

"Ahh, please! Leave Ai alone!" Mary shouts, hoping maybe to divert the slimes attention as she tries to blast it again.

Being tased twice by the slime makes Ai lose her footing briefly, the electrical current running through her body. As she spasms involuntarily, Ai starts to feel like not attacking the thing, as she was not likely to be able to handle more of those electrical stings. Against her better judgement, she rises back to her feet and lunges forward.

Mary manages to hurt the slime for the first time since it sped up, ironically making it wobble out of Ai's way.

20 vs. 18

For once an enemy pays attention to Mary, and the slime quickly launches a bolt of electricity at her, hitting her and causing her to cry out in pain as the shock runs through her body.

"Ahh! No...maybe, owwwww...." Mary cries out as she gets hit by the shock, not sure if she really wants to divert the attention away from Ai anymore...regardless, she shoots another blast at the creature.

With slight jerking still going on in her muscles, Ai tries to swing at the creature as it's attention is diverted. "No more shocks like that... this sort of punishment can affect your nervous system.."

Still feeling the after-effects of the shocks, Mary's aim is off, but Ai's is not, cutting the slime badly. The thing seems to abandon a decent chunk of its material, perhaps for the sake of cohesiveness.

Its next attack flies at Ai this time, who is easily able to sidestep.

"It's starting to look a bit better for us..." Ai thinks as her blade chews through the slime's mass. Keeping the flow up, she aims another attack as she returns the weapon after a sidestep.

"The final push... no need to get raped by this thing..." are the words that roll in Ai's mind as she keeps up a steady stream of attacks, each succesful strike bolstering her spirit a bit more.

Mary gets in on the act, blasting the slime and causing a gurgle of pain to escape from it, though it manages to harden a bit of itself just in time to stop Ai's attack.

Suddenly, the feminine form it had before rose up from the slime and surprised Ai, shocking her badly as she collapsed to the floor, her fingers twitching a bit as she couldn't get a good grip on her naginata. The slime seemed to be pointing at the door, making weird noises that might be considered an attempt at speech.

Mary looks at Ai, hoping she isn't in too much pain. "Lets finish this!" She says, pondering only briefly what the slime might be trying to say, it attacked first so there's no way she's going to listen now.
