Re: Amarant: Noble's Path - Dec. 11th

Results:
I really liked the short scene between the girls. Good to see that Maria remains open to more “fun" with Jane. Something to keep in mind for later, once they are someplace safe…

Retroactive vote: Send him down the moss path, but tell him to be very careful: "It would be a pity for you to fail now, when you are so close…"

Also tell him not to tell anyone about this encounter – HE alone earned the chance to pass the trial, not any of the others.

Primary vote:
Jane and Maria decide to stick together and try to be as quiet as possible. Each one examines each item while the other keeps an eye out for any danger. I guess this might count as an H for Maria.

First have Maria examine the pool and the water – they are already near it and Jackson did mention something about the water. If she discovers nothing Jane also examines the pool and the water in it.

Second they move to the right and examine the chest. This time Jane is first to examine it and Maria is second.

Third go examine the statues up close, starting with the closer one. While at it figure out how to best use the statues as cover if it comes to it, and also take a careful look down the stairs.

Fourth examine the pedestal – it might be the lock puzzle Jackson mentioned, or related to it. Don’t touch anything until they know what they are dealing with.

Fifth examine the bodies – those are likely the remains of the dead rat-folk and the guy that got killed by them. Check if any of them have anything of value, and also how the guy died – whether it was really the rats that killed him (not that I doubt Jackson’s honesty, but…)

Sixth take a look at the other passage (which is likely where Chandra and co came from earlier) and the hole in the wall (likely where the rats came from).

Finally examine the shelves and the items on them.

So basically a counter-clockwise examination of the things in the room, with Jane and Maria sticking together and one of them keeping an eye out for danger while the other examines stuff. While the two splitting up would be faster this is the safer way, and if one of them misses something the other might notice it.

By now Chandra is likely back to where the captain and the mage are, but we still don’t know where the rest of the men are.

The two girls quickly decide to stick together – while scouting the room separately may be faster, they would rather be together if anything were to happen. They decided to go about the room in an almost counter-clockwise fashion, inspecting everything of interest while making sure to keep watch for any danger.

The two girls approached the pool, peering into the water: It was incredibly clear, the stillness of it allowing them to see the intricate patterns on the bottom. As far as they could tell, the water seemed perfectly normal – they would have to test it further to see what and properties it held, if any. From what Jackson said, it warranted some measure of caution. Orbs like the ones they had seen earlier were embedded within the columns, illuminating the water, creating a faint glint of light from beneath the surface.

Jane focused in on the stairs to the right, below the waterline where the glint originated from, discovering what appeared to be a large circle of metal - whether it was a simple metal such as iron or a more precious, the two couldn’t tell yet. It rested on the second step down, about a foot or so underneath the surface. It had a single jewel in it and looked to be just the right size to wear as a bracelet. Besides that, the pool didn’t seem to hold any more obvious traits.

Moving on to the chest on the right side of the room, Jane and Maria immediately noticed the multitude of cuts and slashes embedded in the large, wooden container. Jane knelt down to examine it closer: Blade marks and missing chunks of wood littered the entire surface of the chest, the iron holding that held it together also showing signs of violence. Strangely enough however, the chest didn’t show any signs of being compromised from the blows, all of the planks still completely sturdy and showing little signs of breaking. Stranger still, was the fact that none of the cuts ever went past a certain depth, almost as if the very surface of the wood was the only part that was susceptible to damage. The third and final curisoity was what appeared to be the absence of any kind of lock: Jane wasn’t sure if it would open or not, but its appearance suggested that there shouldn’t be an issue in getting inside.

Jane decided to leave it undisturbed and stood to let Maria then examine it herself as Jane looked about for any danger. Unfortunately, she was unable to find any additional information about the chest. The two girls continued for now, leaving it unopened as they were simply investigating the room for now.

The next sight was a surprise as the two of them laid eyes upon the statues in the far part of the room: Two figures, both carved of stone, but one stood in an erotic display: The left statue showed a naked elven woman surrounded by a myriad of tendrils, the mass coiling about her body. It reminded them of the heat between their legs, the sensation from the moss and the tendrils still present within them. The elf was smiling, eyes closed as she leaned into them, the mass cradling her head. Jewelry adorned the statue, and not just pieces carved into the stone, but actual gemstones and gold inlays were set within the various facets along the girls arms and legs, a single, large amethyst also set into the base of the writhing mass.

Jane also noticed how there were a few empty pieces - perhaps the exploits of previous treasure hunters who had come seeking riches, she mused. She could pry a few loose herself if she were so inclined.

The other statue – on the right side – showed another woman, this one clothed in a long robe and bearing her teeth in a spiteful expression. She stood proudly with an arm outstretched, pointing to some non-existent entity. She looked be human, none of her features marking her as some other race. No jewelry was to be found on her, instead, only a single piece stood apart from the stone: A small, glass vial with a rounded base. Jane almost didn’t notice it at first, but Maria called her attention to it. It was almost entirely concealed behind her robe, the woman cupping it in her palm as she rested it against her shoulder. The liquid inside was a smoky blue, the cloudy substance swirling about despite the fact that it had probably laid still for years. If it was a potion, Jane and Maria were confused as to how one would imbibe it, the container showing no openings or methods of dispensing the liquid safely. With the height of the statue, one of the girls would have to climb on top of the base to pluck it from her palm.

As for the bases of the statues, they were quite similar, their plain faces simply acting as a spot for the statues to stand. The girls did find it strange how the back of each base extended upward against the wall, creating an “L” shape, but soon realized their purpose:

Maria discovered metal channels in the floor between the two statues; they were small, but they could conceivably allow the statues to slide along the wall and conceal the passage between them. The question now was: What was their original position?

With how the statues were at the moment, they could easily conceal themselves behind either one: The large cloak of the right statue provided enough space for both of them to hide together, while the one on the right was wide enough for probably only one of them to hide behind. Alternatively, if they were willing to lie down, the base was high enough they could conceal themselves in that fashion.

Before they moved on, Jane took a quick peek down the stairs between the statues: There were about a dozen, just enough so that the ceiling in the next chamber was level with the floor in their chamber. She could see that the floor was similar near the bottom, but she would have to venture down if she were to gather any additional information.

The two girls moved on to the pedestal… although there wasn’t much to see: A plain, metallic urn sat upon it, its surface void of any markings or other details. It enlarged near the top before slimming back down near the opening – a simple design. As for the pedestal itself, it shared the urn’s lack of details, the stand nothing more than a single piece of chiseled stone that was thin at the base and flared outward towards the top – not even paint covered it, its surface grey stone.

Not wanting to mess with anything quite yet, the two girls moved on… until Maria stopped.

“Jane… wait…” She said, holding a hand softly to her forehead.

“What is it?” Jane responded, rushing back to her friend worryingly.

Maria didn’t respond, simply bringing her hand back down to stare at it quizzically. She flicked it forward, her brow furrowing afterwards.

“I can’t cast…” she spoke plainly.

Jane stuttered a bit asking her friend what she meant.

“I- I can’t explain it… I just felt as though I lost my ability to… … wait…

Maria then took a few more steps forward towards where the corpses laid, Jane following, concerned for her friend. The young mage had her eyes closed as she concentrated, eventually stopping just a couple of feet from the deceased rat-folk. She repeated the motion from earlier, light bursting forth this time in the form of her “Create Light” cantrip.

“I see…” she said, looking back towards Jane.

Jane quickly realized she wasn’t looking at her, but rather past her towards the corner they had just investigated.

“Something there, whether it is the statue, the urn, or something else I’m not sure… but something over there prevents the casting of magic.

Jane turned back towards where they had just come from, wondering what was causing this inability to cast magic. Whatever it was, Jane took comfort in knowing that it had a range of some sort – hopefully, they won’t need to cast any magic within that section of the room. Regardless, the two now moved on to investigate the bodies against the wall.

---

It was a grim sight indeed, the smell of blood now wafting up to them as they approached the scene. A man laid against the wall, sets of long cuts in his shirt, the garment dyed a muddy crimson from the dried blood. Upon closer inspection it seemed he was clawed to death by the foes that stood around him. His head hung forward, over a cutlass that laid in his open palms – it seemed he fought to the death.

Around him laid three rat-folk, the three of them looking to have been stabbed and gutted by a sword, their deaths anything but clean. If Jackson was to be believed, this was the man he mentioned, killed by the rats before he could finish them off.

It felt weird, Jane leaning down to check on the man’s corpse – the sight of the dead man gave her little worry, but it still felt strange to search a dead man’s possessions. She eventually pushed away her apprehension, reasoning that he no longer had need of it. Maria kept watch as Jane searched him, paying special attention to the large hole in the wall.

---

Having gone through his pockets, and a bag that Jane managed to spot underneath his leg, they collected a few items as well as an additional bag to carry some stuff in… if they didn’t mind a few bloodstains:

A few feet from where he was, further towards the long corridor, was a small crossbow on the ground, the string still cocked back. A bolt was also found next to the weapon itself with five more on the man’s person. In the pack was a bottle of what appeared to be a very strong alcoholic beverage and a few gold coins, one of which seems to be quite a bit different from the others, an emblem of two bottles and a crescent moon set into its face. There was also the cutlass that the man wielded, but the blade is quite a bit larger than anything Jane or Maria have wielded.

Loot – who will take what?

- 8 gold.
- Alcohol (Strong)
- Unique Coin
- Small Crossbow
- Crossbow Bolts x6

With that done, the girls made their way over towards the cave entrance, checking it and the other passage out before heading towards the shelves near where they had first entered.

---

If Jane and Maria had to guess, it seemed the passage on the left side of the chamber was where Jackson and his friend had come from. The two girls peered down the long corridor, but couldn’t make out any significant details, the patterned walls and floor continuing on for thirty or so feet before making a turn, beyond which the two knew nothing of the temple’s layout save that they could probably find their way back to the torch-lit path from before.

The hole in the wall seemed to be a bit more than just that, the cavity seemingly leading to a much bigger cavern. The lights of the walls only illuminated so much of it, the majority of the entrance shrouded in darkness – the two girls wouldn’t have any idea if there were more foes lurking within. At the edge of where light met dark however, was a spear lying amongst a few scraps of wood. Its make was shoddy, far from anything complex: a sharp rock fastened to the end of the wooden shaft, which looked to be little more than a sturdy branch. It definitely something Jane or Maria could wield, but its usefulness was questionable.

And finally, the two noblewomen made their way back to where they had started, inspecting the shelves embedded in the wall. The first shelf held parchment, mostly torn and illegible. Broken glass and scraps of leather were scattered about the second one up, some of it having fallen to the floor. Various alchemical instruments – as well a few rough-looking books – occupied the upper shelf, the alembics and retorts almost unidentifiable due to the state they were in. It seemed to hold nothing but junk, but Jane couldn’t help but notice a certain twinkle in Maria’s eye, her friend probably frantic about any written treasure. Still, if the two girls were to find anything useful, they would have to sift through the mess in order to find it…

With the shelves now checked out, the girls now had a pretty good idea about what the chamber held and what else they could do before moving on… and all of it done without running into any enemies as well – quite the luck they were having.

While avoiding the pirates had been on their minds lately, they reminded themselves of their true objective, of Maria’s goal to find something she could use or knowledge she could discover: whether it was an artifact she could write about or something magical she could take advantage of, she needed to find it. Jane remembered what she had mentioned about the cult that used this place, that “the cult’s focus was on acquiring magical power and how to give that power to those that had no magical aptitude.” She understood what it could mean for her friend given the relationship she had with magic; whether small or large, Maria probably had the know-how to benefit from it in some fashion, whether that was increasing her own potential or putting herself so far ahead academically, that the college would have to accept her…

Re: Amarant: Noble's Path - Dec. 11th

Well I'd really like to find out what is causing them to be unable to cast magic. If it's something we can take, then having it might do us some good if we can manage to fight the enemy mage while he's alone. My first guess is the urn since if was after checking it that Maria noticed she couldn't cast, although that doesn't necessarily mean anything. Another problem with that is that having it would mean we couldn't cast anything unless we toss it somewhere during an encounter.

I suppose if others are willing, we could have them move the urn to the opposite corner of the room and hope that it's not trapped or anything. Then try to conjure a ball of light or use some other spell back where we couldn't cast one before to see if it really is the urn. It could also be one of the jewels or the potion in the statue, but I don't know.

After that I'm not sure. I'd like to check out more stuff, but it sounds like we're a little pressed for time. If we stay and check out more things then that's fine with me. But if we decide to leave then we should go down those stair since it seems the other two paths just go to the other places we could have chosen earlier in the room with the ratmen encounter.

As for the item distribution,
Jane: 4 gold, the Unique Coin, and the Alcohol
Maria: 4 gold, the crossbow, and the bolts

I really hope all of that made sense. I'm pretty tired right now and I'm in a little bit of a hurry (hence the not going into detail on searching anything else), but I hope I at least got my point across.

Re: Amarant: Noble's Path - Dec. 11th

I'll make a proper vote later, after some more thinking. For now I'll just post my vote about the loot, and also some thoughts.

Loot:
Maria takes the alcohol, Jane takes the rest. I don’t know how good Jane is when using a crossbow, but at least this way both girls will have a ranged weapon, for when they are out of mana (or unable to cast magic). They also take the extra bag. Leave the cutlass for now – they don’t need a weapon they are not familiar with, especially one that is large and likely heavy. They could pick it up on the way out to sell later, though.

Random thoughts:
- Search the shelves for anything of interest, especially an item that can hold water. If they find one that is clean enough they should take a sample of the pool’s water so that they can examine it later.
- Don’t touch the gems on the statue – that’s just asking for trouble
- The anti-magic field needs more investigation. For starters approach the area and see if the orb of light Maria is holding disappears or remains – this way they’ll know if it merely blocks casting, or fully negates spells. The difference is important during battle

I'll post more thoughts later.

Re: Amarant: Noble's Path - Dec. 11th

Loot Dispersion
Loot for Maria is: Unique Coin, Maria's a Scholar, she'll have quite some fun studying what this is later in her own time and she won't lose it. She'll keep a hold of it. Alcohol (Strong), Maria just trounced Jane in a drinking contest, not a true one, but did trounce her. So she deserves this. 5 Gold, Maria isn't as rich as Jane, so she should get the higher amount.
Loot for Jane is: Crossbow and Ammunition, because Jane has had some training in fighting, more so then delectable scholar Maria. 3 Gold, because Jane is richer than Maria already via family.

Vote:
Search the Shelves - The shelves haven't been properly dusted or searched, perhaps there is some sort of hidden switch? Maybe we'll be lucky in opening a hidden passage or at least finding a unique stone chip of some sort.

Z Minor Action: Jane puzzled at the way Maria figured out how she couldn't do magic by the statue's area. "Maria, can you hold create light for a bit and walk over into the. . . anti-magic zone? See if it forcefully disperses it." A funny feeling squirmed through Jane's belly even as she suggested that, her mind going to that swirling blue cloud within that bottle. . . "Hold, wait a moment Maria. The statue's bottle, what would you say if holding magic and entering the field causes the statue to drop and let the bottle break on the floor?"

Fluff Action: Jackson stumbled down the path, the moss making his feet slippery as he looked down the path. . . His mind wasn't on the path but on those two wonderful vixens. They were a bit scary but if he could find them again, oooh after these trials he had no doubt they'd gift him a most wondrous reward.

So does this. The rest, not so much.

Along with this, I say look at that chest once more, then head down the stairs.

Also search for anything they can use to take out the "bracelet" in the pool without touching the water.
- The chest is likely trapped or sealed by magic. Or both. So examine it again, but this time look specifically for traps and magical defenses. Also illuminate it with the orb of light and see if that reveals anything.
- Don’t touch the gems on the statue – that’s just asking for trouble.
- The anti-magic field needs more investigation. For starters approach the area and see if the orb of light Maria is holding disappears or remains – this way they’ll know if it merely blocks casting, or fully negates spells. The difference is important during battle. Also try to figure out its range

Z: The whole time the two girls remain alert, looking and listening for any sign of approaching danger

Re: Amarant: Noble's Path - Dec. 11th

Jane's loot : Crossbow + bolts, Unique Coin and 4 gold coins.
Maria's loot : Alcohol (Strong) and 4 gold coins.

- Jane takes the glass vial.
- Maria tries to catch the bracelet with an arrow.
- They experiment with the stone to comfirm it's the source of anti magic field.
- If yes, Jane takes the stone and bring it to the treasure chest to see if it cancel any magic that keeps it closed.

Re: Amarant: Noble's Path - Dec. 11th

Jane should get the crossbow and bolts to have some sort of ranged advantage besides magic, half the gold, and the unique coin.

Maria gets the alcohol and the other half of he loot. She should also go grab the cutlass just in case. A little bit of melee to he ranged and magic would be nice to round things out.

As for the rest... I think everyone else has the right idea so there's not much more I need to say besides I'll second everyone else!

Hehe. Here's the new update, along with a new avatar to match the season.

Loot:
3 gold to Jane,
5 gold to Maria,
Bottle of Strong Alcohol to Maria,
The Unique Coin to Maria,
And the Crossbow + Bolts to Jane

The girls will check out the shelves as a first course of action.

Added to the retroactive spoiler in the last post.

The two discussed what needed to be done: The chest was worth taking another glance at - if only to find out what was inside – and whatever was keeping them from casting over in the corner of the room was definitely something that needed investigating. The gems, while precious, weren’t really necessary – Jane and Maria were noblewomen… And while they’d get to the flask and the bracelet in due time, they decided to search the shelves for now to try and find anything of interest.

They shuffled through the papers. While Jane was more cautious due to the broken glass, Maria exercised a more rapid pace, quickly discarding whatever she deemed worthless. Tiny pings rang out as shards of glass hit the ground, followed by the slow, silent descent of burnt paper. Maria shifted from shelf to shelf, constantly weighing which one might have something of use, something that she could take back and use for research. She opened the books, but they were all burned as well, black scrap falling out as she opened each one. She tossed them to the floor to reach for more.

Jane searched the shelf that held the alchemy equipment, making sure not to cut herself on the broken instruments. She tossed aside the scraps, sure that Maria had no interest in the blackened fragments. The instruments seemed like they would have concocted quite the potion back when they were pristine, but now they were no longer. They reminded Jane of Novo; she only visited it once, her father bringing her along on a diplomatic visit. She remembered the strange scents and weird colors that belonged to certain districts – it was apparently the alchemical capital of the world. Jane continued to sort through the scraps among the shelf as she thought back to the loot they had come across earlier while also giving a small glance around the room to make sure they weren’t in any danger.

The room was clear, but now Jane had another option in case anything came at them: The crossbow from earlier was a nice addition to her arsenal and would allow Jane to attack from afar without having to result to her magic. Currently, it hung beside her bag, fully cocked and ready to fire as it was fastened to the strap for quick and easy access. The bolts fit into one of the side pockets, readily available just in case. It seems Jane could fire it with one hand if need be, but she’d need both hands free to load it.

The coins and the alcohol weren’t really of much concern: As noblewomen, they weren’t exactly in dire need of additional coin – nor alcohol - but they weren’t ready to just pass it up. The unique coin Jane had found, with the crossed bottles and the moon, was of special note, but she had no idea what it was. She decided that it was better for Maria to take the token, her expansive knowledge on artifacts and valuable trinkets perhaps encompassing whatever this may be… which it unfortunately didn’t, her friend giving a small shrug at the design. As for the alcohol… well, Maria had already proved her fortitude with such matters.

---

Jane had just moved some of the defective equipment to the side when she noticed a bit of color in the back. It was hard to see due to the height of the shelf, but she had just managed to glimpse the silvery liquid of a potion, sitting on a rack in the back. A quick hop up and she snatched it from its resting place. She examined it, noticing immediately how the vial felt like it was going to break – almost as though it had been crafted for just that purpose. The Liquid inside filled the container completely, the cork stopper fastened tightly, secured in place by some sort of adhesive.

+ Vial of Silver Liquid for Jane

As Jane examined the vial, she heard Maria let out an excited “Ah-ha!” Jane looked down to see her kneeling on the floor, holding an intact scroll still bundled by a small loop of string. She wasted little time in sliding it off and examining the text. From what Jane could see it was complete gibberish, the edges lined in runic symbols that were clearly different from the unknown text in the middle. It was completely alien to her, but for Maria, it was a simple matter of deciphering the words.

She started speaking softly as she studied the document intently - incoherent syllables and words that Jane couldn’t make sense of. It wasn’t any language she had heard before, and certainly not what pirates had been speaking in. No, this was “Ancient”: it was constantly found in old tomes and dilapidated ruins, the language having long passed as an everyday form of speech. It was a language Maria had spent many years attempting to learn, and even then, there was still much she strived to learn. Jane was happy she had found something worthwhile and went back to searching.

She had only just begun searching again when she noticed a flash of light. It emanated from the scroll Maria held, a deep purple mixed with intense beams of white. Maria’s eyes were wide with awe as she gazed upon it, entranced as she held it away from her.

“Maria!” Jane called to her, worried.

She didn’t look away, her eyes locked to the scroll. Jane then went to try and snap her out of it, worried about what may happen, but was caught off guard by a sudden burst of noise.

It sounded like a great storm had suddenly been conjured, a screeching wind twisting about Maria. Her head was tossed back as the parchment fell from her hand, the writing on the page glowing purple as the edges went up in a blaze. Maria’s mouth hung open as her face turned towards the ceiling, her arms falling back as though her body was racked by pain. She did not scream however, the only noise that of the chaos whipping about her person. A dull glow radiated from her eyes and a soft smoke wafted about her head, both starting as a deep purple before fading to dark blue and then… nothing. The glow faded almost instantaneously, along with the smoke and the sound, the whole display over in a few, short seconds. Then, almost like a marionette released from its strings, Maria slumped forward, her hand slowly making its way to her head as she held her face in her palm.

Jane immediately flung herself down to Maria. She didn’t care about the pain in her shins or the small tears she had caused, only concerned for her friend. She gripped her by the shoulders, trying desperately to coax some sort of response, anything that would tell her she was alright.

“Maria? Maria!?” She cried again and again. “Answer me… please…!”

Nothing remained of the scroll Maria once had, its remnants now indistinguishable from the scraps amongst the floor.

A gentle moan escaped from Maria, a groan of pain as she started to pick her head back up. Her eyes stayed closed even as her head came to level again, eyelids visible past her spread fingers.

“Maria…?” Jane spoke again, her voice almost trembling.

She seemed to be aware of her friend’s voice, the girl calling out to her in a weak tone.

“Jane…? What…”

She opened her eyes, lazily peering through them as she met her friend’s eyes.

The fact that Maria was simply alright enough to still be coherent was enough for Jane, her fear fading away, replaced by immense happiness. She brought her hand from her friend’s shoulder to cradle her face, her palm resting against Maria’s cheek. They smiled at each other, but Maria’s quickly faded.

“Jane – look out!”

Happiness and alarm mixed in Jane’s mind, elated to know her friend still retained her mind and her life, but Maria’s warning quickly took its place, making her turn to where Maria was pointing.

Rounding the corner, coming from the cavern within the wall, were at least three rat-folk, looking much like the same ones they had encountered earlier. Their heads pivoted quickly as they entered the room, the one closest to them seeing them immediately and letting out an aggressive hiss in response. They immediately crouched low on all fours, eyeing the girls warily. The stance gave the girls a perfect view of the rat-folk’s groins, their pink members already hard and plainly visible. Jane would have usually been repulsed, all it did instead was remind her of the constant warmth between her thighs…

As for Jane’s concern for Maria, it will have to go unresolved for just a little longer, as it seems they might have another fight on their hands… The Rat-folk seem to be only ten or so feet away, but Jane and Maria are fully aware of their presence at least. They all look to be in good health, having suffered no injuries, and are of a similar build to the previous rat-folk.

Fireball the middle rat, and then shoot the one on the left with the cross bow. Keep close to Maria. You don't know if she's up to fighting right now after what just happened.

Primary goal: Protect Maria until she recovers enough to help.
Cast Fireball. If possible aim for the middle one and hope that the explosion will hurt the other two as well. After that use the crossbow and shoot a bolt at the nearest rat.

As soon as she has recovered enough Maria should blind the rats.

Based on the description the Vial of Silver Liquid seems to be an item meant to be thrown at the enemy, but since we don't know the effects let's not waste it just yet.

Fluff Action: Howling winds! They echoed from there! From there the howling winds! He lifted his arm, smacking first one and then the other with a heavy fist. He growled, his meaning clear. They scurried, quickly, loping up the ground in big eating strides. They dodged the little pressure plates they knew well, they noses sniffing, smelling something strange. . . but under that strange, something delightful. Something female. Something still in heat. They stopped at the sight as they beheld it. They came upon two figures, both looking prime, both with flat bellies and no scent of other besides themselves on each-other. A snarling grin bloomed, eyes glittered in anticipation, the legs already tensing. - Ratfolk, leader one of the trio.

Z Minor Action: Jane looked into her friends eyes, they would be the first to show any difference. Maybe there was an extra gleam in her eyes, or a color differentiation.

Re: Amarant: Noble's Path - Dec. 15th

Maria cast blind.
Then Jane and Maria shoot to the closest rats, one for each.
If they die jane defends Maria from the last one with her dagger while Maria redraws an arrow.
If not fireball.

Re: Amarant: Noble's Path - Dec. 15th

Fight. Duh.

Jane fires the crossbow, then reloads it. Afterwards, switch to the dagger and prepare to do magic. Maria also readies and fires her bow. Prioritize whichever target Jane hits, unless by some miracle it is an insta-kill. Secondary target should be whichever one is closest.

Z minor action: Both of them should attempt to move to the far side of the pool, and if possible keep the water between them and the targets at all times. This way, Jane can use her scroll of Bolt should one of the targets decide to go for a swim.

Re: Amarant: Noble's Path - Dec. 15th

Maria is in no shape to fight at present.

Have Jane fire a crossbow bolt towards the nearest ratfolk, then reload... and when the ratfolk are close cast wave of force. Shoot the next ratfolk before pulling out Jane's dagger and moving onto the next ratfolk, and if she finishes it off then move to the other. Cast magic armor just in case before pursuing in melee.
