RPG Ci-En Loli Shota [ASIMOFU]エストラの迷宮 (Labyrinth of Estra???)

instead of the vast majority [...] flung out the door several months early at that.
I agree with everything except that one point.
Realistically, I believe this game won't come out in the next 3, 4 years? at least. I hope the quality proof-of-concept we get to toy with  doesn't delay the game's release in the end. We have many examples of project delayed forever, after they gained sufficient pull.

Thankfully, there's also a few which used that pull for the game's development benefit. Very few. I'll be crossing fingers for that one.

I was just looking at the thread prefixes and wondered what is the cause for the loli prefix? From the demo available neither girl presents as a loli, the wolfgirl looks mature and the slime girl's a slime. Do either of these justify the loli tag?

The slime girl looks loli, the boy looks shota, better safe than sorry.

I know certainly, the boy's a shota. So that doesn't change much from the prefixes anyways. However I don't feel like the slime would require the loli prefix. Though maybe that's just me, because she doesn't present as a loli would, she's like a single cell creature that's a blob half of the time.

The art style looks more chibi than shota/loli, but I guess it's better to remain cautious.

Yeah, generally the kind of people who'd make a stink over loli/shota have no idea what the hell is the chibi style and how it's any different.

To play devil's advocate, most monster (girl) games (or at least the most popular ones) have protagonists who are either clearly teenagers, or whose age is left ambiguous. I personally do not have a problem with that, but I can sympathize with people who find this off-putting. I'm actually wondering why it's that way. One would think that people interested in femdom kinks would want to play as characters who look closer to their age.

In this game's case, it looks more ambiguous, which is why I am more willing to classify it as "chibi". The monster girls have the same proportions than the main protagonist, and they have physical traits such as developed breasts or pubic hair.

That's something I've often wondered myself. There's a peculiar lack of femdom titles where the PC isn't a skinny twink-looking kid. Masculine men, or hell, men in general being targeted for those acts are borderline unheard of. I don't get it at all, shouldn't being overpowered by women when you have the build to overpower them yourself lean more heavily into the femdom kink? Well, I find femdom titles with that style of PC more enjoyable at least, horrifyingly rare as they are.

Anyhow... I figure the reasons for boyish protags don't go beyond trending, aka game devs copying popular titles that others have previously looked to for successful titles. Very rarely do developers take steps outside of what's current, and of course that applies to H-games too. There's additional factors to consider, like artists having a general bias towards drawing characters in a particular style, age range or build. Very few of them don't get locked into this mindset but that's what happens when you draw porn for a living.

Putting all of that aside, I'm just glad the brave few got male protag H-titles relatively popular in the first place. I love seeing an actual cast of attractive enemies rather than hastily scrawled unsightly monsters the artist clearly seems to have resentment towards drawing.

The only monster girl femdom game that did it that I remember, was Desire Dungeon with a mature male lead. And that game featured the ability to dominate the monster girls. I get the feeling that Japanese devs who aren't just pandering to the Luka architype that got popular due to MGQ are using shotas because they precisely can't dominate the monster girls. To avoid the question of, "Why can't I just fight back and push her down, make her orgasm, then run off?" No the protagonist can't have a chance of dominating the girls in reverse rape focused games. Then the game just might become a battlefuck instead.

Monster Girl Enclyclopedia and all of its writing features adult characters. There are no shotas.
All of Circle Exelga's games for instance are adult males... though the theme here is corruption so the lead characters are the women.

The game MGERPG is an adult male.
SHRIFT's Kazuya is also in his 20s.
Bronze 5 Box's Sexy Girls Hunt is an adult male as male, though this game goes both ways, and is predominantely maledom.

Actually a lot of BF's are adult characters since they fuck back.

I know there are more reverse rape games with adult characters. Basically... while it's rare it's not super rare.

To clarify, by "people who'd make a stink over loli/shota" I don't mean people who simply don't like them, as I'm not a huge fan of loli myself, I meant pseudo-activists who would create problems for ULMF, the dev and others simply because they can't distinguish reality from fiction.

Thanks for the references. I'll definitely check the Monster Girl Encyclopedia RPG and the Sexy Girls Hunt demos.

That's the sad truth...
To be fair, masculine men over 25y-o are liable to be called ojisans in Japan, or so it seems. I'd also understand, an effeminate, yet slightly toned/muscular young man would be considered more attractive in general. You could have similar thoughts about the depicted females' age as well :cautious:
There's a simple workaround: a mute chronotrigger-ish, ageless MC. Like ROBF's. But no, most devs go out of their way to insist they want to depict 16/17 y-o protags (so, basically, kids playing sandcastles in the park for most of us, if we're honest...).

We definitely could use a list of games going against the flow. My additions to the suggestions above:
- any previous SQDT title. And Succubus Rhapsodia.
- Dreamlands https://ulmf.org/threads/p-p-can-dreamland-no-rj274236.13697/ (F-dom combat-rape, not BF)
- Pump-trick! (requires some Japanese)

PS: any news from Asimofu, btw? It's been 2 months of radio silence, as far as ci-en's concerned.

No news that I've seen, but they're still active on their twitter. Given that they've had post gaps like March>August>January in the past, I wouldn't be concerned just yet.

I was wondering, has anyone made or is capable of making a modded version of this? Just with simple stuff like HP value increases or making it so you can't actually die.
...or hell, even just a restart function.

The newest version has a restart function on death and i think you can also do it from the menu.

I love how strangely people get enticed by succubi.

I've been supporting this guy since before his first major update-- just now found this thread. He seems like he's going to make max profit from this thing just from the characters alone.
I fucking LOVE that wolfgirl blowjob

Where are these comments coming from? Who are you replying to, and what harpy are you talking about?

We're genetically predisposed to seek out biodiversity. It's the reasoning behind finding people with different accents or skin colors or, more imperceptibly, varied immune responses more attractive than those with shared traits to ourselves. I mean, outside of social pressures.
I'm sure that extends to little black wings as well.
