I'm gonna take a shot in the dark, did you have Japanese selected as the non-unicode region when you extracted the archive? If not then the files aren't named correctly and this is causing the error.

If the above is not the case, post a screenshot of the error message please.

...I feel like an idiot. I finally found the system locale / non-unicode settings for the system (Windows 8). I've been fiddling with other language / region settings because I wasn't sure which one was the exact thing to change.

Well thats good to know, if there was something wrong in the files i didnt want others downloading it off my sig and having the same problem.

Have you tried switching non-unicode to Japanese under System Locale?

The program can't find the proper file, which means your file names are in Ansi (â}âbâv.png) instead of Japanese (マップ.png)

Try changing your system region to Japanese and re-extract the archive.
Note: The system region affects the entire computer while the non-unicode setting only applies to non-unicode programs.

Yeah these games are real finicky about being in japanese characters.

edit.solve now just delete fullscreen on game.ini

The resolution is supposed to be 1092x860, its a custom script and a nice big window. Personally i prefer it over 640x480 or whatever the default resolution is for rpg maker games.

I downloaded this game, load it via AppLocale but got an error-sound an the game quits without an error message. Did anybody had the same behaviour?

I read somewhere in this thread that Vitamin Quest will release as a free game in 2016 or something. Is that true or ? Since you cant find it on dlsite anymore.

How do i resize the default window of the game. As far as im aware its contained in the script file but i have no idea what to edit to change it.
