Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

Re: Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

"There is an old ruin just outside of town. An old fort that collapsed into the sea after a sink hole opened up under it. Most of it is under water however a good section lies in the large hole still intact." Emilia frowned "Its the only spot on nearby that I cannot see with my minds eye. Its good his power hasn't matured to much or I might not have noticed at all." Emilia reached out to a small trinket on a shelf and grabbed it. Tossing it to Rikke she spoke. "Just say lumin and the ball will light up and float nearby. The old road to the fort is still visible though you may want to grab some supplies. Before you go." Turning back Emilia set her cup down. "As for a plan well... I will lure the beast out so you can destroy what ever power base he is starting to grow. Once the source of his excess power is gone he should be more manageable. If Rikke asked about money Emilia would just point to a small locked chest. Opening it Rikke found about 100 coins of various nations sitting there collecting dust.

Re: Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

The rogue wasn't looking just for money, she would consider mementos or something else of magical nature! Though with the small box unlocked and the absolute sparkle of coins filling the room... and the adventurers eyes, clearly it was time for some heroics!

"Okay~!" Rikke turned to Emlia with a gleaming grin, before calming it down to a sly smile "So I should go to the temple, try to disrupt any worship going on there... and once thats done, you'll make your move on the Beast?" she'd double check the plan, before thinking over her task "If its semi-submerged... I might need to do some deep-water diving. Maybe you have something for that?" the rogue was an excellent swimmer and certainly could hold her breath for surprising amounts of time... yet some aid in such matters was always welcome!

Still whatever the case may be, she'd need to drop by the town for some minor supplies and to pick up her armor! With all that done, it was time to do some old-fashioned ruin scrounging!

Re: Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

"Unfortunately I do not have such a thing. Hopefully you won't have to dive to deep." Emilia turned and moved to an over stuffed chair. "For now get some rest I need to recharge some of my own power before we do this. Probably tomorrow. Meet me back here and we will depart."

Re: Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

Perhaps the local alchemist would have something for the girl... Rikkes eyes quickly darted to the gold chest "So~ I'll just take some of this for my supply run... Around fifty denarii should get me all I need." the girl beamed a cute smile as she inched closer to the glimmering coins.... before Emilia said something that Rikke did not consider part of the plan at all.

"We?" the girl blinked curiously "I thought I was going to go there solo. You know, I cut the power supply and you take out the beast?" indeed as Emilia first presented the task, it certainly sounded like the rogue would have to tackle it alone. Even if with company it would surely be easier... the heroine always preferred to tackle the enemy by herself.

Re: Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

"Yes that should be fine. Just remember I want to go over the plan once again before we do our separate tasks.... and to cover if something should go wrong." Emilia would smile at Rikke before waving her off and pointing out a path to the town.

Re: Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

Rikke would nod, but not move? The beauty looked on to Emlia as if waiting for something, before she'd glance to the coins then to the Divine guide... then back to coins. Clearly the girl was double checking if it was alright to take the supply expenses!

Hopefully getting her purse loaded up, the rogue beamed Emilia a smile "Alright! You can count on me." she'd wink to her slyly, before looking outside the window at the red sun already sinking to the sea "So~ Um... how do I get back down from here?" the girl giggled innocently rubbing the back of her neck.

She had to get back to town as quickly as she could! As it was best to grab the supplies, before the stores closed up for the night! "By the way, know whats the best spot to rest for the night?"

Re: Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

After a little assurance that it was indeed okay to take the money. And a quick guide on how to get down to the town, the rogue somehow missing the stonework road. Emilia did suggest either going back to her ship or staying at the Jade lounge.

After a short while Rikke found herself Standing outside the Jade lounge the name having clearly been giving by the owner of the place. A small eastern woman with a large necklace of flat jade chips marked with strange symbols.

Re: Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

Her coinpouch slightly heavier and the path clear, Rikke would rush onwards back town! Yet... by the time the girl reached it, night had descended onto the colorful town. Her supply run would have to be done early in the morning.

Still if she was going for a ruin-scrounging, a good nights rest would be invaluable! Thus the girl would waste little time in finding the Jade lounge. Thankfully with a little bit of guess work and a few helpful directions from the nightowls in the streets, it would not be long, before the rogue approached a peculiar looking building with an too clear sign reading 'Jade Lounge'. This place was certainly different than most inns, as its roof had a strange curved design made of numerous tiles, its the very edges curved upwards. It was an aesthetic choice the girl had seen once before, in a different time...

As the girl looked over the building soon enough a most peculiar stranger caught her eye. She seemed to be dressed in a long sleeved robe and was clearly of an eastern descend judging by her features, yet due to the girls position and perhaps moreso due to the unique necklace she wore, Rikke suspected that she was part of the staff "Hey~ Any chance to get a room in the lounge?" the girl beamed the stranger a kind a smile.

"Of course of course." The woman had a sweet if slightly aged tone almost like a grandmother. She lead Rikke to a small desk where a younger looking woman with a mix of features bowed at the sight of the older woman. "Jin my dear have a room made ready for our guest." The younger woman bowed again. "Yes Grandmother" Turning to Rikke she bowed slight at her. "Hello stranger we have many rooms available including some traditional Bardian or Crolian style lodging if you wish." If Rikke opted for either of those she would be asked to hand over 3 denari, if she chose the more traditional style of the Jade lounge it would only be 1 denari.

Re: Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

Rikke looked around as she was lead inside, her smile hardly faltering. This was from the unusual inn the girl usually stayed. Even if it did not brim with luxury or class, the inns style had its own very unique style not seen often around Crolia.

"m? Oh I'd love room thats in-style of your establishment." the girl smiled kindly, not really sure the real difference between the three presented styles. Clearly this wasn't Crolian, but what did a Bardian even look like? Still the girl would prefer a room styled according to the inn, whatever style it was! As soon enough she'd pay up and thank the receptionist girl.

It was time to rest up!

Paying for her room Rikke found the warm dark brown wood was accented by a deep red. Silks in red and off whites covered the bed and windows. Looking out the window Rikke found a carefully kept garden a bloom with exotic flowers. The bed itself was covered in silks and seemed to be made of feathers. Like a smooth divine cloud once Rikke took to it she soon drifted into a deep sleep.

In the morning a small colorful bird chirped at her window. All the days worries from before seemed to have washed away and made her ready for a new start.

Re: Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

Rikkes eyes light up as she saw her room and wasting little time the girl picked up speed, before leaping up into a most welcome 'Pooof!' onto the bed! The act even spurring a few flecks of small white feathers to take flight! She could certainly get used to this... especially with such a wonderful view outside.

It was strange that the night costed as low as 3 denarii, however... between the presentation, the silks and the comfy bed the girl could've paid far more and be happy! Emilia seemed to know how to pick the best spots.

Still with a relaxed smile, soon enough the rogue slipped out of her current attire and headed off to slumber. Compared to the nights on the ship, this would prove the most peaceful and serene nights rest the rogue has had in ages! Or atleast a few good months.

As morning came, soon enough subtle beams of sunlight spurred the girl awake "Mmm~" Rikke sat up lazily and stretched casually before looking around the illuminated room with a smile. With natural lighting the simple room appeared even more charming than when she arrived... yet unfortunately the girls stay would not be long. Rikke wouldn't waste long on getting herself in-order, as each hour of daylight would prove precious. A quick wash with chilly provided water, a subtle adjustment of her bust in the outfit, as well as a quick combing of her relatively wild hair and an encourging wink to her reflection later... she was all set!

Once back in town, Rikke would settle first things first - the girl had a pending new armor order at the most peculiar leatherworkers! Only with her new appearance straightened could she get to work on acquiring a few supplies.

Rikke's trip to the leather worker was uneventful though her visit was less than fruitful. As she recalled this was the day she was to be fitted which meant her armor wasn't going to be ready for her trip into the ruins. She would have to rely on her own grace and dexterity to bring victory today. The rest of her supplies would be easy to get the port town having just about everything she needed. This only left her meeting with Emilia to go over the plan once more.

Re: Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

Yesterday had been such an eventful day, the rogue forgot that her armor wouldn't be ready today! Instead the girl would quickly look over herself for anything to tweak... Ever since she departed The Glory, Rikke wore quite the outfit.

Tight-fitting leather pants, a white simple shirt subtly unbuckled to show the girls assets and a light leather short jacket, seemingly open at all times. It wasn't much for defense, nor was it luxurious... but the beauty certainly added her own unique magic to make it seemed both playful, sexy and relatively casual!

Not quite the adventuring kit, but~ it would have to do! Still with whatever cash she had left, Rikke would look to buy some meal for the trip, rope, stiches for her outfit... if misfortune came upon it and last but not least - the girl would look to head to the alchemists to buy a healing potion or two, perhaps a waterbreathing potion as well... if those existed!

Re: Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

Shop
- Minor healing potion [Heals for 1d6+4] (8g)
- Medium healing potion [Heals for 1d6+6] (14g)
- Large healing potion [Heals for 1d6+10] (20g)
- Water breathing potion [Allows breathing underwater for a limited time] (15g)
- Slow-fall potion [Slow falling speed, preventing fall damage] (12g)
- Radiance flask [Provides a temporal and potent light source] (8g)
- Arousal potion [Affected character becomes horny] (15g)
- Fire flask [Highly flamable liquid, deals 4d6 damage upon detonation] 12g

With her shopping done Riikke soon met Emilia back up on the bluff. Looking out and about the woman smiled and shielded herself. For a moment it felt as if Rikke lost sight of the mage but considering she was standing right before her the feeling quickly lost sway. "How was your night and are you ready for the task at hand." Rikke couldn't help but feel that Emilia didn't approve of her armor or lack their of. Still as some polite conversation passed the entry way to a long ruined building loomed before them. Half of the mass had been cast into the see while the rest remained dangerously close to following suit. "The basement stair is what your want to find. It leasds to the cellars. No doubt the vermin hid in there.

Re: Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

Every single potion seemed worth its weight in gold!... judging by some of their prices quite literally. Still the rogue looked over the small flasks and soon enough made her choices!

Rikke buys:
- 1x Minor healing potion
- 2x Medium healing potion
- 1x Radiance flask

For a total of 40 denarii. [7 left total... ._.]

Though as the rogue shopped, she'd quickly realise that she accidentally included her own savings... along with the gold that was brought back to the girls! Leaving her with only the minor amount Emilia gave her. Thankfully it was enough for some potions, but not all the girl wished for.

Whatever the case, Rikke would slip the potions into their slots on her belt, it wasn't much but it would have to do! Nodding to herself the heroine smiled and soon enough rushed onwards through the port streets to meet up with Emilia once again. Now well rested and prepared for her trip!

...atleast so the rogue considered herself "Ready~!" Rikke grinned widely as Emilias gaze none too subtly and sceptically looked over her 'defenses'. The clothes seemed to work more to entice the enemy than actually protect from their blows! Yet, Emilia wouldn't say a word about them.

The journey would not be too long, as soon enough the duo left the port city to head through the almost jungle-esque lands beyond it! Lush flora, dark green leaves and large trees towered all around as brilliant streaks of light slipped in between them. The environments ever since the girls departure on Glory had been nothing, if not absolutely reinvigorating for the rogue! Even the subtle feel of the air was a far cry to the cold and unwelcoming Crolian weather!

Still as the girls exhanged tales of the different lands they had seen and how they compare to this one, soon enough Rikkes goal would appear before her! Now THAT... was one juicy looking ruin!

Rikkes lips puckered subtly as she looked on, as on either side of the horizon the sparkle of the seas extended, while right down the middle a huge building loomed out, its structure seemingly crippled on sunken down beneath "What was that place?" Rikke blinked curiously as she looked on to the subtly overgrown ruin... not taking the water breathing potion seemed like a much worse idea now... hopefuly the girls fair experience in diving would suffice, if need be!

Re: Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

"Some say it was a resort others a castle. All I know its a festering ruin." Emilia would frown. "This is where we part ways for better or worse. Good Luck" With that Emilia would disappear leaving Rikke in the cover of the wooded area. A moment later a red streak lashed out from the ruins quickly heading deeper inland. It seemed Emilia had her own place to fight set up away from town. As Rikke approached the ruin she heard to men laughing though she could not see either one.

Re: Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

Well... it was show time! Rikke would double check her equipment and potions, before pushing away from behind the tree she was overlooking the ruin and approach it.

Long since forgotten ruins like this had always held a special place in the girls heart, as looking over the mix of gray stone and green moss-ladden building it still hinted a beauty which once was. Though just as Rikke looked on to it with a smile, a particulary boisterous laugh seemingly perked up the girls ears and widened her eyes!

The girls movements turning silent she'd carefully sneak closer and using as large cover as possible attempt to near the source of the rapidly growing louder echoes.

Re: Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

Using her innate stealth Rikke soon spotted the situation. Three bandits sat together on makeshift chairs. Sadly they seemed to be right near the stairs down. From her current position Rikke would be spotted if she made any movement forward. Of course there where other ways to approach but they where far more dangerous if the crumbling building had any promises to offer.

Re: Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

Were these part of the occultists Rikke had come to stop? The rogue looked over the rowdy bunch from around the corner of her hiding spot... If they were worshipping the evil being, they sure had a curious way about it, as the men seemed to speak in all manner of topics, most turnign nasty or dirty as they drank some sort of liquid.

Still, if she got one of them to talk... perhaps the girl could get a headsup of what to expect inside! Three enemies, eh? It was doable, but with some risk! Rikke though the situation over in her mind.

The girl could always risk an alternative route, but if these guys were hostile and they were right at the exit..! If things would go soar there' d be no easy escape. Heck! Who knows, maybe they're just a small group of drunkards just enjoying the scenery!

Taking a deep breath Rikke sheathed her blade and stepped into view with a curious expressions "Hello?" time to see just who was this bunch!
