Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

Re: Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

As Rikke stepped threw her hair was tussled by a warm wind that carried a faint hint of the sea. Looking past the portal Rikke could indeed see that she was outside of town on the upper bluff. Not hesitating Emilia moved to the cottage. As she crossed the fence line the air around her seemed to ripple and she turned back to stare at Rikke as if waiting to see something.

For the moment Rikke took in the the sunset over the bay. The now orangish yellow orb casting its few faint rays across the water causing it to glint and sparkle. She could just barely make out the Glory's masts a glint of a spyglass on her crows nest. Sea bids and their land dwelling cousins danced in the air hunting the last few bits of food before the night came.

Rikkes eyes widened as the vista opened up all around her, infact from wherever they were the girl could overlook a colorful seaside town a few ships docked nearby! "Wow..." the girl paused briefly to look to the view with a smile, yet just as she was about to go ask her ally where they were.... one of the ships seemed keenly familiar.

Seemed the teleport did not take them far at all! As the unknown town revealed itself to be the seaside dock the Lady brought her too! Still from this vantage point the girl could get a far clearer image of how the town was built as well as its different districts - a few the girl already having the chance to visit.

Emilia however seemed quite used to the breathtaking view, as she'd not even stop on her walk to the unknown cottage nearby... The girls disappearance quickly spurring Rikke to shake off her awe and rush to catch up!

As Rikke approached the cottage Emilia would smile as the girl pushed threw the strange ripple in the air. "Good I was worried. That was a final test if you bore ill will or darkness in your heart you would not have seen where I went."

The cottage was quaint and tidy with numerous flowers in bloom. Small colorful humming birds moved from flower to flower that crew in vines along the walls of the place. Opening the door Rikke could see a tidy house with a magical broom sweeping up some dust. A nearby feather duster was busy cleaning some very pretty and quite expensive porcline figures accented with gold and silver. Some had black cloths draped over them hiding their features. One stood front and center and looked amazingly like Rikke with the exception that it had very very long hair.

"Wow... Is all this yours?" Rikked entered inside a lil sheepishly, before growing more bold as the cottages natural cozyness quickly quelled any doubts or worries the girl had. From simple yet elegant looking furniture to porcelain statues and curious potions, as well as feathers - it was clear this was a mage house!.. Incase the magical sweeping broom did not give it away.

Still even if the rogue looked over quite a few of the statues, one seemed to take center stage... and it seemed, quite oddly familiar. The heroine approached it and turned her head side to side as she'd look over it "Who's this?" the girl asked curiously, though judging by her beauty and quite the very carefully sculpted bust, the entity was no doubt some sort of spring or beauty goddess!

Yet even on second glance, Rikke couldn't quite put it what was it about this statue that felt a little strange...

As Rikke examined the statute. Emila would answer her with a raised eyebrow. "Is the Goddess of Spring, they also seem to think she is the daughter of Venus the dead Goddess of love and Lust." Rikke looked the figure over noting several more. One appeared to be a winged woman. She was curvy and her wings had flame patterns in gold. She kinda looked like her Jessica. Anotker was seemingly dressed in a plain robe holding a staff. Compared to the other two she seemed kinda plain but was still very pretty. This just left the ones covered in black cloth.

"Dead? What happened to her?" Rikke looked over the figure curiously, as she'd move on to the other sculptures all the while listening to the myth. Though as she did so, the girl found another statue that struck familiarity once again spurring a smile from the rogue, though she'd mention anything as the tale continued.

Still how ever the story went, the black cloth statues quickly caught Rikkes attention! "Why are some of these covered?" the girl would playfully lean down and attempt to life the cloth slightly to take a peek beneath... unless Emilia had none of that!

Emilia didn't stop her from looking but sadly her peek only revealed a small column of porcelain with gold and silver streaks running up it. The rest seemed to be in the same state as well. Watching her Emilia spoke. "They have not awakened yet." Turning to face Rikke the woman leaned back against a wall. "You're telling me you know nothing of The Goddess of Lust? How she was killed by the God Slayer?"

"Er..." Rikke smiled sheepishly, before quickly answering to Emilias sigh in an embarassed fashion "I was never keen on too much religion!" the girl quickly explained herself, before crossing her arms in a cute pouty manner "Besides... I've never heard of a Lust diety." the rogue knew of Venus, The Goddess of Beauty, and very limited other number of gods... but little more than their titles.

"And what do you mean... 'Not awakened'?" the wording certainly seemed strange... Were these not just simple beautiful works of art?

Emilia set her cup down and walked over to the statues hefting the robed one. "This is magic porcelain enchanted to take the form of a new demi deity. It was a gift from an old friend. She told me new gods would come and that they would be drawn here. She didn't tell me some would be hostile... but I guess thats life.

Re: Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

Rikkes eyes widened subtly at the words... even if the girls curiousity burned at what was no-doubt actually a collection of demigods, instead of actual dieties, all the heroines thougths jumped to the same question "You mean the Beast? The Cursed Swordsman?"

Re: Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

Emilia frowned darkly. "Aye he is one....." Looking at Rikke she pointed at small alcove. Here Rikke saw a black statue with red marking highlighting the eyes and sword with a few streaks going up the arms. "His statue started out like the rest but I guess as his nature became clear it turned into that."

Indeed the figure Rikke had previously not noticed loomed in its own corner, the shadows themselves seemingly keen to envelop and hide it from the few streaks of sunlight inside "What is he?" clearly this was no simple curse... It was time Rikke heard the whole story behind the cursed swordsman!

The girl would turn to Emlia and clearly relayed with her gaze that she wished to hear the whole story... if the girl even knew it. Yet judging by the magical statues and the girls own magical affinity, the rogue suspected Emilia was much more than just a retired caster.

"He is a demi god of rage and death or bloodlust. I do not know for certain but our meetings have been far from peaceful chats." Emilia eyed the statue for a moment. "Nor do I know why he hunts me. Maybe he wants to repeat what the God Slayer did and steal my power. Or perhaps he is just insane."

Re: Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

"Geez... Talk about a nasty avatar." Rikke approached the statue and looked it over curiously "How long has he been hunting you?" the girl turned to Emilia and raised an eyebrow "And for him to repeat this God Slayers task... that would make you a...?" Rikke would allow Emilia to finish the word herself, if she did not the rogue herself would add "A Goddess?"

Re: Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

"He has been hunting me for over a month maybe two. Its hard to tell." Emilia picked up her cup again and began to sip letting Rikke come up with her own answer before smiling at her. "Not yet."

Re: Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

"Not... yet?" Rikke raised an eyebrow and smirked to her "If you've that idea, something tells me that you're more than just a simple mage." the girl crossed her hands "I imagine you brought me here for a reason, and since you've been on the run for a few months... I'm willing to be is for aid against this avatar of death chasing you.... no?" Rikke relayed her thoughts openly, before adding "Well~ Lets just say, I'm not keen on leaving a creature like that to roam and hurt innocent people as well, but... if you want my help you need to tell me who exactly are you, Emilia. The full-story this time."

With those words, the rogue would sit down and look to the girl. She had time... and she wasn't the one that needed the others aid!

Re: Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

Emilia took a sip from her cup before setting it down. "First off, I have not been running I've been fighting. Second I did not need help until now. Clearly the swordsmen has started to make minions. Minions that will worship him as a god. Which will increase his power. And lastly I was former Sister Emilia Landoma. According to history I died five years ago saving this town from a pirate attack. Because of my sacrifice the local church named me a saint. I can go into the details later but needless to say when I died my friend spoke to me. Apparently I was a child of a god or some such. She told me that new gods would appear soon and that I should find them, guide them. To do what I don't know she hasn't spoken to me in some time.

Re: Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

Rikke listened to the tale, yet as Emilia finished the girl had a clearly confused expression for a brief few moments "You were... ressurected?" no wonder the girl in the bar looked so shocked! "By who? What friend?" the rogue asked as she'd look over the statues in whole new light.

So these were demigods or at the very least avatars of different gods and goddesses, some of which still slumbered while the others had been awakened. Though as Rikke looked on to the statue of the Goddess that so drew her eye, seeming memories or flashes of a snow-peaked mountain, a glowing item of power vaguely rushed through her mind.

Still it was something the rogue soon enough shook off "I see... If what you say is true, it would be an honor to help you, 'Divine guide'." the girl winked to Emilai slyly giving the female a nickname to remember her by.

Re: Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

"Oh please no nick names. Its bad enough people refer to me as a saint." Taking up her cup Emilia drank deeply. Well first off we need to find out where he is hiding or at least where he is making his monsters. Sadly that will have to be up to you. If I leave here he will find me. This sanctuary is the last of my hideouts. Emilia thought a moment. "Its strange I cannot sence him either so he must have a sanctuary of his own. Maybe the ruins but its a dangerous place.

Re: Chapter 5 Home is where the Heart is (Ubberific) GMed by ranger

Rikke paused and tapped her own lip briefly "But~ Say if I do help, it would be nice if the Divine Guide would reward such efforts in some manner." the girl smiled in a adorable fashion to Emilia, even if she didn't exactly need rewards for her heroics... the girls treasure hunter and thieving roots were starting to protest all the free heroism she had been doing!

Still whatever incentive was offered or even if not at all, Rikke was free and a chance to help the emerging demigods sounded like far too grand an adventure to skip! "Alright! So~ Ruins eh?" the girl turned her head lightly to Emilia "I do need a starting point, whats is this place you had in mind?"
