For those of you who have missing image files, it looks like the new built-in encryption system for RPGMV is albeit bugged. I spoke with some fellow devs, and this problem is popping up in a few other games as well. The MV engine basically screws up core sound and image files if their built-in encryption is used.

I'm going to try uploading a new version without the encryption, and see if the problem still manifests.

If you already downloaded 0.6.1 and you still have version 0.5.1 on hand, the core image and sound file should be the same from both versions, so whatever missing file error comes up just port it over from the 0.5.1 version.

If you don't have 0.5.1, please don't worry I am already uploading 0.6.2, just download that version once it's ready.

Tested new 0.62 version, i can confirm that it works.
Seems like new version dosen't have any new art, all h-scemes after fisrt town are only blackscreens with text.

That is correct.

The new CG is being worked on by Ganassa and will be arriving with a patch update in January.

If you would prefer not to play a text-only game from the Prologue onwards, please wait for the artwork update.

Played the 0.6.2. So far using no cheats I was able to get 2 defiance, 8 depravity, 5 intrigue and 5 seduction. My progress halted in the quest with the lover with poisoned whore where I was able to talk to a herbalist in Rathpike asking me the kind of poison was used but upon going back to the couple, they gave me no info about it. So I tried going up the ranks the brothel but going to work as a whore in the corner of the buildings are not working upon saying yes. The quest to investigate the bar as well as the fish shipment because I do not know how to go to the village.

For the Runaway Lovers quest, the hint about the poison is given by their pursuers found south of them.

Narfu Village is inaccessible at the moment and will be added in with future updates. The suspicious pub quest ends after finding the book.

Tried what would happen if I got purposely caught in the pub investigation quest. I got killed when I tried to grab for the crossbow. When I plead for my life, gave a deep throat to the guard. After the scene the guard was gone, but when I moved in any direction the event in which the guard detected me activated again. Talked to the madam at the brothel for work, placed me between the corners of 2 buildings. Went to the spot that has a flashing circle in it then it asked if I was to work as a street whore. When I said yes nothing happened.

I dont wanna sound like a grumpy grandpa, but why dont you test your game once before publishing? There are always lots of bugs in your releases, maybe let the game rest a little before you go on to publish it? the last major game breaking bug was clearly avoidable if you play tested your game for 10 minutes.

Is there a particular reason you've increased the Intrigue requirement to learn lockpicking from 2? That's a hard enough stat to level in the early game, as is, and now you have to do the refugee camp section perfectly to be able to pick it up.

Oh, good catch, I forgot to get rid of the detection switches.

This isn't implemented yet. Check my Patreon changelog for a full list of details. I went and setup the foundation for that quest, but I haven't fleshed it out. I usually have a lot of base elements lying around so I can quickly fill them out in the next update.

I already playtest it a fair bit, believe me. I get rid of the majority of bugs before releasing. Problem with the last release is, when I'm using the playtest software, it didn't trigger the encryption bug. Only after packaging does it trigger. Another thing is the nature of this game - there's multiple branches in every single direction so playtesting it completely is quite time-consuming. This is, after all, a free beta version available to the public, so I rely a lot on players to test stuff.

Not particularly. At this point I'm still balancing out the stat issue and seeing what requirements and boosts work best.

I agree that this should be changed back. Otherwise there needs to be consideration to learn it later elsewhere with other ways to increase intrigue and maybe even lockpickless intrigue paths.

The patch note indicated that the devs made another npc teach you lockpicking in Rathpike.

I could be wrong about this if there's repeatable ways to get gold in Hookton that I haven't found and don't see mentioned in the thread, but I think it's possible now to get stuck in Hookton and never be able to afford the boat trip. I got one point of intrigue prior to making it into the town, then got captured and gained one point of defiance escaping from the fort with Beth. Without 3 intrigue to learn lockpicking or unlock the job in the Inn's bathrooms, it seems all I can do is babysit for 25 gold a day, which then goes right back into passing to the next day (20 gold for 100 HP, 5 gold for the inn) Since I escaped from the fort I had 0 gold, got the one time event with the horse and the chest under the Inn but now my money coming in and going out seems to be in an inescapable equilibrium. I went up 5 gold when the baker invites you over for dinner but that appears to be a one-time thing as well.

Assuming all of this is accurate and there isn't something I'm missing, a couple different ways to gain intrigue in the town with higher restrictions/requirements may be useful? Or possibly another repeatable job? I've got a lot of EP I can't convert into GP on a given day.

That seems about right. The new item prices didn't factor into account what it costs to work/buy food as well. I'll tweak it for the next patch.

It only takes like 30EP to babysit; you can do it 3 times per day to clear a decent profit. Maybe it doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but hey, it's a way to get out of the area.

Any update for this month? Dystopian said that we'll be getting the new version of Claire's Quest in January. I'm still waiting. x_x
