Re: Frequently Asked Questions and Problems
dragoonistix:
awesome!!!
such an argument!!
(though honestly, i kinda stopped before the last RJ: in big bold black bletters)
Thankyou, thankyou. It’s always invigorating to get praise on something that you expect nothing but scorn for.
Your post is a bit ambiguous, but I figure you’re being sincere.
seeing your point, i am throughly amused with how you dedicated yourself with such a bland mildly arousing topic(written lolli)
thou with respect over your well researched and versed points
i guess(guess) its the intellectual curious nature of an argument..
cheers!!
Yeah, basically.

And its unbelievably good to hear that someone not only read it, but understood my point amongst it all.
Toxic:
Douchebag is obviously not like me, as if db ever has a large post to get back to, it might actually get done at a later date.
Yeah, I’m good like that. Just call me the Dogged Pursuer.
Now I feel kinda bad I didn't respond to that pm a while ago that I had meant to, but never did
...granted, I'll still probably never get around to sending it, I'm just saying.
Eh, no worries. I write with the hope of a reply, but the expectation that none will read or respond (beyond something like TL;DR, anyway).
RJ:
Did anyone actually read the whole thing? Cuz at this point, it seems like his course of action is, "No matter how dumb my argument is, if I make it big enough, it will beat you."
1. You just technically broke your word that “I ain't gonna respond back, bitch.”
2. You’re ‘Complaining About Posts You Don’t Read’.
(Or well. It -sounds- like you haven't read it...)
3. That’s not my course of action. As pointed out a few times in the post itself, I’m not making any new arguments about the main points and I don’t give a shit about ‘beating’ you.
Termite:
I saw the big section dedicated to Hooker, then I saw the RJ mega-block of text that made me go X[
Then I saw that it went on for multiple posts, and I simply said "Hell-fucking-no, I am not reading that."
A wholly understandable response, and one I honestly thought I'd get more of.
Pakars:
Did this debate really have to happen in this thread?
Well, this is where it started, and it is related to the Frequently Asked Hentai Question of how legal loli is. I didn’t feel like making a separate thread for it when I was about to post my 4-post due to the fact that the argument has basically ended, but if Pheonix wants to create a new thread and use his moderating powers to pull all of our relevant posts from this thread into that one, that would be great – though I don’t expect him to as it would be more work added to his already quite large duty of policing the hentai section.
maikochan:
At this point I've completely forgotten what the original problem was.
Understandable as the argument itself had ended some time before my 4-post began.
(I wouldn't call it a debate, not even an arguement, just one guy banging his head on a wall).
It sounds like you think I’m trying to continue to argue for written loli on the forum. I’m not. In fact, I pointed this out in a couple of places throughout my 4-post. Here’s one:
this argument has already reached its natural conclusion, as Aika gave his decision on the presence of written loli on the forum already, and I don’t have any new evidence in this post than there was at the time of his decision. Basically, I’m just summing up and attempting to explain the argument to anyone confused.
My latest post had two purposes.
1. Remove confusion regarding the argument (explain myself to Hooker, refute any arguments of RJ’s that were incorrect or unrelated to the point)
2. Defend myself from any baseless or incorrect claims regarding me
I even included the end results of the actual points being argued in my summary after responding to all posts:
Now, of course, this argument is already mostly ended. The first argument of whether written loli is legal ‘not just on this site but any’ is concluded with “yeah it’s legal, though on US servers (but not if you’re merely in the US, as there’s no law against privately owning obscenity, as opposed to ‘child pornography’… although if you’re –creating- it that might be another can of worms entirely) you’ll be taking a little risk and other places you might be as well, you’d have to research those.” The second argument of whether written loli is allowed on this forum is concluded with “The Miller test for obscenity makes it too risky for Aika to risk on a US server.”
The only thing that I have argued, throughout the entirety of my 4-post, is to do with the meta-argument of RJ’s claims about me and my claims about RJ’s handling of this argument. Everything else was either explaining why I did something or what my position was/is (clarification), explaining points that RJ ignored or misinterpreted in his arguments(clarification), agreement (Kusa), or just plain good old fashioned ribbing. …No, wait, I tell a lie. I did do two new things regarding the argument. I refuted one statement of RJ’s that argued against the legitimacy of my end-argument, and I noted Hooker’s new point that V-Bulletin could potentially blow us up if someone complained. But other than this defence of my final stance on the issue, I have made no new claim that we should have written loli on the forum, nor had I meant for my 4-post as some sort of argument to that end.
Personally, I think I did reasonably well in achieving my two goals, though admittedly the fact that its size will scare off those who I would hope would read it is unfortunate. I think I’m not hitting my head against a wall so much as writing up a summary on it. (…Whilst also defending my character from various claims)
dragoonistix:
yup read it all, the "other" thing that amused me is how ridiculously logical this is,(thou what the hell is with the point, barb to barb basis..,(something about points and hurtful points?))
RJ made various statements to the end that ‘I made no points and was only posting to insult him’, or something similar, so I pointed out how many times I had said something bad about him (barbs) vs the number of times I had made a point in each post in the argument, and then did the same for him; effectively showing how many times we said something bad about the other compared to how many times we made a point in our posts. Largely, we were equal, though always tipped towards him being worse, and my starting statement was far less severe than his reply, while his ending statement was far more severe than the one of mine it responded to.
Hooker:
Anyone want to find out what the local(state) law says about the issue?
I’m not sure what state ULMF’s server is in, the admin would have to enlighten me first.
