*WARNING* Don't play this if there are others that can hear it, unless you want them to hear it, in which case, go crazy.

Due to those Vaginal Ninja videos, I was curious about Samurai and ran into this:

That’s it. I’m sick of all this “Masterwork Bastard Sword” bullshit that’s going on in the home shopping network right now. Katanas deserve much better than that. Much, much better than that.

I should know what I’m talking about. I myself commissioned a genuine katana in Japan for 2,400,000 Yen (that’s about $20,000) and have been practicing with it for almost 2 years now. I can even cut slabs of solid steel with my katana.

Japanese smiths spend years working on a single katana and fold it up to a million times to produce the finest blades known to mankind.

Katanas are thrice as sharp as European swords and thrice as hard for that matter too. Anything a longsword can cut through, a katana can cut through better. I’m pretty sure a katana could easily bisect a knight wearing full plate with a simple vertical slash.

Ever wonder why medieval Europe never bothered conquering Japan? That’s right, they were too scared to fight the disciplined Samurai and their katanas of destruction. Even in World War II, American soldiers targeted the men with the katanas first because their killing power was feared and respected.
So what am I saying? Katanas are simply the best sword that the world has ever seen, and thus, require better stats in the d20 system. Here is the stat block I propose for Katanas:

(One-Handed Exotic Weapon) 1d12 Damage 19-20 x4 Crit +2 to hit and damage Counts as Masterwork
(Two-Handed Exotic Weapon) 2d10 Damage 17-20 x4 Crit +5 to hit and damage Counts as Masterwork
Now that seems a lot more representative of the cutting power of Katanas in real life, don’t you think?
tl;dr = Katanas need to do more damage in home shopping network, see my new stat block.

Re: Funny/Awesome Videos tiem.

So I don't look retarded, this is what I was responding to:

I couldn't agree more. One of the few things I admire in life's history is the Samurai. So I completely understand this lack of respect with what they treated as a way of life.

Really? Katana is the ultimate weapon ever? Katana wielders were targeted first because of killing power and not their officer status? The Europeans never conquered tiny little Japan because of fear?

Inky, I really really fucking hope your being sarcastic, else my respect for ya is going to dribble away a bit.

Honestly, I'm surprised anyone can take that particular copypasta seriously, and yet here I am dumbstruck.

Re: Funny/Awesome Videos tiem.

Oh shit, I totally forgot I was supposed to remember where that was from -_-

Re: Funny/Awesome Videos tiem.

I assumed it was more well know than that. And that aside, that anyone would think I'd make such absurd nonsensical claims... I mean, do I regularly go around giving things d20 stats around here?

Re: Funny/Awesome Videos tiem.

Anyways...

Here's an awesome scene from 'The Hunted'. Great flick about a western business man who gets caught up in a mix between Ninjas and Samurai. This scene features the leader (BADASS) Samurai taking on a group of Ninjas on a train.

Also, here as a scene from 'The Last Samurai'. It's much more for it's time.

HAHAHAHA! FUCKING CHRISTOPHER LAMBERT!

And no, I don't know you, and no, that's not recognizable in the slightest.

You think that I recognized that as a copy/pasta? I'm not an internet guru, I hardly know many things beyond this site here. Hell I have trouble with things that happen in here.

Re: Funny/Awesome Videos tiem.

Re: Funny/Awesome Videos tiem.

Every time I hear that mans name, I automatically think . :D

I loved his quote when that movie first came out. "Playing a god is good for my ego." Hehhehehehe.

Re: Funny/Awesome Videos tiem.

I thought was pretty funny. That's how he learned to dodge those shoes!

Re: Funny/Awesome Videos tiem.

So the monsters stay on the roof with their tentacles...and witches hide in attics from the king's men.

I wonder what kinda rituals they do that makes people call them witches and why they hide so close to the roof! I've got a good idea ;)

Re: Funny/Awesome Videos tiem.

It's all about the chorus. Tentacles! TENTACLES!!!
