Damn the lack of couch co-op in that Hunted game! I can stand for a little lack of prettiness.

As to WoW... I played 15 minutes, got bored, booted up Oblivion. Which I also play on the 360. Didn't have live, so ended up getting the expansions on disk later.

Looks like an interesting game. I'm definitely going to give the trial a go, and maybe buy it, if the 'boss' battles aren't as fucking rage-tastic as Joe says, since he does admit to not being that interested in the type of game it is to begin with.

It's not that bad a game actually. Rather entertaining. Though the boss battles are indeed fucking annoying.

Oh my god I finally got Dragon Age: Origins Awakening and it's so awesome Oghren and Anders work so well together WOOOOOT *passes out in joyful bliss*

Also recently picked up DA: Awakenings, and I'm rather enjoying it. Though I'm not using Oghren, but rather Justice. Story is still really good, though the scope is narrowed considerably. We're no longer trekking across Ferelden but just one Arling. This is not a bad thing as they can beef up this one area a little more in terms of history and culture and looks.

Still. I wish they brought Leliana back. I liked her as a character.

So, I've had Awakenings since launch day but I'll likely just be getting to playing it tonight. I wanted to finish my second playthrough before I started the new game, as I will likely be taking my various other Wardens up through Awakenings as well. I reiterate that easy mode is easy, given that I decided before I went to bed last night "Hey, what the hell...I'm about at the Archdemon, let's see if I can do it." It took me 15 minutes. Fifteen minutes to beat the frigging end boss of the game. Sections that I tactically went through, changing things on the fly, setting up traps, spells, ambushes, luring enemies...yeah, fuck that. I charged in and had Denerim and up to the second floor of Fort Drakon cleared in half an hour. Course, it helped that I knew what was coming, that the darkspawn die in one hit, and where to go so I wasn't backtracking all over the place, but still, with my characters as high a level as they are, it was a cakewalk. Now I'm going back through with Loghain in my party after having taken Morrigan's deal, since I want to see the differences in *that* portion of the ending, but after that (which I should be done with tonight, since I'm at the second floor of Ford Drakon *again*), I'll likely be gushing over Awakenings soon enough.

Also, I picked up the Dragon Age tabletop RPG and it's kind of interesting. I'm pondering running it on the side for my D&D group. Very simple and straightforward conversion, lots of liberties that the players can take but still have constraints that they need to follow. I also like the slightly more in-depth info on Ferelden that they give. (The game here is set pre-DA, as Cailan is still alive.) I also look forward to the accessories they're putting out and I've been waffling on getting the books, but I just might, if I can find them *laughs*

Alright, now that I'm a bit calmer I'm gonna be able to talk about Awakening properly.

It may not take me longer than it took me to play through this game, but it won't be by much. Awakening is very brief, and I've been able to finish it within three days after getting it. The new characters by and large remain fairly stereotypical (man tortured by his past, honorable knight, nature-loving elf, grrl). The only ones that stand out are Anders and Oghren, the first being incredibly witty and the second being incredibly drunk.
I didn't get to play with Mhairi because she doesn't survive the joining, at least when you're a warrior.

There are many new weapon designs in the game that just look amazing, and some new armors that look very impressive as well.

On the whole the game could even be described as easy. There was exactly 1 boss battle that made me worry I may not make it. I wasn't defeated once in the entire game.

To sum it up, Awakening is not as good as the main game, but that doesn't mean much. It's still very much enjoyable and it adds a lot of nice things and details to the world.

Shut the fuck up! All of my fucking permavirgin friends are fucking getting pokemon and that shitty pokewalker thing. Think about this, I never show off that I game a shitload in public and I have a girlfriend. None of my friends do and they talk about guild wars and pokemon no matter where they are or who they're with. Do you see where they're fucking going wrong!?

That, or just stop telling me to get it so that you can trade pokemans with your fellow permavirgins, I don't care. Fuck, I skipped out on going to my friend's house because they said all they'd do is talk about goddamn fucking pokemon. Like a DotA lan party, except more faggotry all around.


Damn. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go back to playing TF2.

I'm enjoying Awakening myself. Started playing it at 7 in the morning and at 12, my mother goes "So, we're not going to bed today, are we?" Friend and I were discussing the length of it and yeah, it does seem short. She's like "Okay, I got the 'reach level 20' achievement near the end of the first game. I got the 'reach level 30' achievement...about an hour ago." And I can agree that it does seem a little easier. It's either because I have my tactics down or it could just be that that's the way the game is (and I'm playing on "normal" not "casual.) I have had a few characters fall but that's mostly because I just haven't been paying attention. Given the fact that I have Anders hexing the shit out of things, my battles tend to get very colorful and confusing *laughs*

Character-wise, I like who I've met so far. I just got Sigrun, but I've been running around with Oghren, Anders, and Nathaniel and I like them. Nate makes things blow up with his bow, which makes me giggle. And Anders just makes me giggle period. I love them. Yes, they are a bit cliche, but there's still enough of a personality in them that I really really wish there was more party interaction (and romance. I can't decide who I'd jump, Anders or Nathaniel. I like aspects of both of them, though I still miss my Zev.) As for Mhiari...
I'm a rogue and she doesn't make it either. I don't think she's supposed to survive period. She kind of falls into that grand cliche of the "eager recruit who you just know is going home in a body bag." Suffice to say, I was surprised by it but not shocked.
