RPG Localization Mod Hunter's Quest - Aina's Fighting Story English Mod (RJ131569)

Re: [RJ131569] Hunter's Quest - Aina's Fighting Story

Score. It's pretty sad, I'm going to play this over "i am Setsuna". O well, there's no tit's in "i am Setsuna"

Re: [RJ131569] Hunter's Quest - Aina's Fighting Story

Thanks for the translation, YT.

I'm experience an odd bug.

Basically, any time I talk to an NPC, there's a short 1-2 second delay before the textbox pops up. This doesn't occur when I switch back to the original untranslated game files. No idea what's causing it.

I'm using the 1.0.2 patch

Has anybody else had this problem?

Can you try using the 1.0.1 version? (Note, all you need is the "data" folder to switch back)

Link:

I want to see if it is because of the Hide Text script. I kind of added that really quick, and did not get to test it fully. If it causes issues, just going to remove it, since it does not hide the textbox anyways, just the text. Not worth delays.

Thanks!
YT

Are you talking about the script by efeberk? That one only hides the blue text boxes. If you make the box black, it will only hide the text.

Seems to be happening even on 1.01. It also happens any time I leave a building. Maybe it's something on my end, since no one else has complained. I've never had this problem with any other RPG Maker game though.

"Added script to Hide Text, but does not hide dark background windows, so a bit limited. Also, it lacks the improvement in Aylia's Story where you cannot progress messages while text is hidden, because that required another script that is incompatible with HQ. (LEFT SHIFT Hides text)"

Yea, I know. I don't want to change that part though, since it was how the dev set it up. But, hiding the text might be worth it if the script works. It seemed to on my limited testing, and sounds like it is not what tiller's problem is.

Did you have Japanese language files installed when you extracted the game? That way, windows does not rename the file to english characters and cause RPG Maker to not be able to find it?

I can't see what the file is, as the pic is too small. Can you post the message (just type it)?

Well, you can pop this in the graphics\system folder and see if it works. It is the splash screen that pops up at the beginning.

Also, if you decrypted the game (which you should have), make sure you moved the game.rgss encrypted file out of the main folder. Not sure if that would mess with things, but it might.

Re: [RJ131569] Hunter's Quest - Aina's Fighting Story

The Pictures folder from his patch needs to be placed inside the Graphics folder of the game.

Re: [RJ131569] Hunter's Quest - Aina's Fighting Story

I just finished my playthrough (breeder bad end). The only bug I encountered was the priest in the church immediately making spells available at the start without me encountering the h-event associated with unlocking this option. (It was still locked in the recollection room upon finishing the run).

Good work, thanks for the translation, those are always much appreciated. :)

I got the spells without any priest H-scenes too. Didn't realize it was a bug. Assumed the refrence to "training" was talking about something he did to her before the start of the game.

Re: [RJ131569] Hunter's Quest - Aina's Fighting Story

@Iamnuff: From reports, it seems that is only one machine? No wonder I missed it, I only tested one machine and when it worked, I stopped.I'll check the CG room. I left all of the "CG Only" events alone.
[/SPOILER]

Hmm, I only tested one machine too, got the same crash each time so I assumed it was true for all of them. Now I feel kinda silly.

As for the cgroom, it's not a CG-only event, it's the main event.

Go into the drug event and rewatch the scene and you just get a raw black screen with text. One of the other ones does the oposite with the image popping up, but then not going away.

Actually, that latter issue seems to be a common problem with Hrpgmaker game cgrooms. I guess it's easy to forget to set it to remove the image when the scene is done.

Usually you can fix it by watching any other scene, but I tried that here and it didn't work.

Re: [RJ131569] Hunter's Quest - Aina's Fighting Story

I too, was able to buy the spells without the H-scenes. But what do I care about spells without H?! I was able to retroactively get the H-scene with the update though, even though I had already bought the spells.

A couple of notes;

- Changing into the Bunny Suit in any place that's not the casino sometimes gives Japanese text. This was more prevalent in the pre-update, so you might have fixed it already. (Are you ever able to wear it outside of the casino?)

- I assume this is more a bug/glitch with the game itself rather than with your translation, but in Nicci's house in the slums, if you try to go up the stairs after the events of the zombie quest, you still get Nicci yelling at you for trying to go up there, even though...you know. Obviously this isn't anything game-breaking but maybe you wanted to know.

Re: [RJ131569] Hunter's Quest - Aina's Fighting Story

Yeah, so I just got the new update, the drug scene is fixed in the memory-room, but the prince's "job application" is still broken.

Edit: Does losing the boss-battle for the Demon's legs change anything? If there's a branching path I want to know about it.
edit2: Rescuing Carla too.

The only thing I've managed to make sure of is that the breeding sow ending doesn't change based on whether you rescued her or not. No idea what effect your rescue has if you actually succeed and don't lose to the minotaur.

Edit: So, no-legs locks you into a bad-end, no heart locks you into the breeding bitch end.

I guess the game is short enough that I could have NG+ed it, but apparantly quests are broken in NG+, so it's probably safer to shuffle stuff around with saves.

edit-again: Aina's house is strange. She can't sleep in her own bed to regain hp, or interact with anything inside the house, but she can walk around nude there.
Feels like something is missing.

Re: [RJ131569] Hunter's Quest - Aina's Fighting Story

@Iamnuff: Thanks for the detailed feedback and reports. I've fixed most of those issues now, I think. As for your comments in the last post, the developer definitely had plans for more. There is an unused house in Rano proper, one in the slums. Nearly every building has a fully created second floor, that never gets used. Carla has standing portraits in a bunny suit, but you never see it.

Guess they stopped and called it good to sell it. I plan on using some of that stuff in version 2.0.0 when I add 4-5 full side quest lines to fill out the whole "contract" thing. There will be a waitressing quest line, a diplomat quest line, and two more Hunter's monster slaying jobs. There will even be a use for the bunny suit, and Carla's bunny suit will make an appearance.

I also plan to add to the good ending with a special scene to reward those players. I felt the good ending was lacking a bit. So, 5 total new scenes with variations. I wouldn't hold my breath though, as I'm back 100% on Aylia's Story now, just fixing bugs for the time being. v2.0.0 will be this fall sometime.

@spaminator: As of 1.0.2, the folder structure in the patch should be right. I put the pictures folder inside an empty graphics folder. You can simply copy paste the patch into the game folder now.

Uploading 1.0.3 now, I'll post in a minute or so.

Re: [RJ131569] Hunter's Quest - Aina's Fighting Story

Hey everyone!

Here's 1.0.3, which I think will be the last patch I need for awhile. I've now created TWO versions: one with the audio files that is much larger to download, and one without. This way, people having trouble with audio files getting renamed, can just use the bigger version and hopefully everything will work.

Version 1.0.3 Changes (Thanks for all the reports)
- Added all audio files version to the translation download. Apparently, it was a common problem for audio file names to change during extraction of original game. You still need to obtain the original game, but this should make it easier to set it up.
- Edited Succubus scene to fix a few grammatical errors
- Translated casino slot machines (the non-script stuff only)
- Fixed Nicci talking after zombies start when Aina tries to go upstairs
- Added "erase picture" command at the end of the Prince Brothel Interview scene.
- Added "move" command to one of the bad endings so the cutscene after defeating the two Wolf Hunters does not get stuck.
- Translated the 3rd Brothel scene.
- Fixed brothel event so Aina gets paid the full amount of gold once for each customer, then half price.
- Fixed Innkeeper event so you don't get -5 corruption every time.

No Audio Files link:

Enjoy!

Re: [RJ131569] Hunter's Quest - Aina's Fighting Story

speaking of all the missing content, what about this tomb thing that keeps getting hinted at. The catgirl and the swords of Benjamin.
Does that do anything?

Yep, I even tried to make it clearer than the original. There is a hidden tomb somewhere...
