In today's news...

Re: In today's news...

everyone giving attention to the mass shootings probably isn't helping either. feeding this much energy into talking about them just makes them more appealing to the type of people who would want to commit them.

Remember and honor the victims.
That's what we should be doing.

No one should even know the name of the scum that did this.

Re: In today's news...

Good thing then that I never even bothered to read the guy's name(It gets hard to avoid, so I do know vaguely what it is)

Personally I think it would probably be best to keep mourning a closed thing for friends and family, and to avoid media attention as a whole.
No huge specials or 24/7 coverage or such things, just an article to let people know what happened and then respectfully moving along.
Not trying to dig in more for drama and ratings, just bringing the news

Of course, that's why I don't run a news agency, they love their ratings even if there may be copycats like that guy in LA

And then there's these articles

Either that's some undercover infiltrating or he was gay himself. Possibly self-hating and taking it out on others, but that we will never know

I can't ignore the man. I live in Central Florida, and I used to work for the same security company he did, so more than likely we crossed paths at some point. He even looks vaguely familiar to me, and I'm a bit creeped out that I could have worked beside someone capable of pulling off this kind of attack. Especially with all the background checks I've had to go through.

That is an absolutely terrifying thought.

As for him being on the lgbta+ spectrum himself... this is what happens when we are taught to loathe ourselves. His father was a homophobe too.

Because apparently making it too easy to jack off cranks up their lust instead of sating it :confused::confused::confused::confused:

Re: In today's news...

Makes you wonder why the hell they make school girls wear skirts as part of the uniform in the twenty-fucking-first century.

Re: In today's news...

The skirts are just as much of a symptom as the porn and the harassment. All three are caused by society's attitude towards women.

Re: In today's news...

School shorts are oddly short too, not even above the knee but usually upper thigh.

Not like the calf length ones they used to wear.

When I was in school though all girls wore trousers, even though skirts were an option. I think there was maybe one girl in my classes from middle school to upper school that wore a skirt - and even then they only wore it for a short while.

Re: In today's news...

Skirts aren't really the problem, there have been loads of generations before with skirts that went just fine

Lifting up someone's skirt is like pulling down a guy's pants. It's rude, and if kids keep doing it then maybe it's time to teach them some decency

Blame everything except yourself, parents. It's easy but doesn't actually help

Re: In today's news...

I went to public school here, and thinking back it was very seldom that the girls wore skirts.

But yeah, hand out tasers to the girls. There won't be much skirt lifting after that.

Oh, definitely. Whoever does this needs a suitable punishment, and the guys need to be reminded that it's not all right.

Re: In today's news...

I had an online friend some years ago that said someone pulled (or tried to pull) down her tube top at a pep rally. It's definitely not OK and to people who say, "Well they shouldn't wear this or that" I say there is no excuse.

Even if girls were running around naked that's no reason to behave like cavemen, with your pecker giving chase and pulling you along for the ride.

Back to clothing violation: If they want to see naked girly bits they should just go online and search for it. Sure you'll end up with a virus or two (because you're inept) but at least you won't be violating the personal space of a fellow student, worker, etc..

Re: In today's news...

Speaking of indecency...

A man in Hamilton, Ohio, was arrested for public indecency... specifically, .

It is his third arrest for having sex with inflatable pool floats, in addition to his first offense in 2002, where he was "caught having sex with an inflatable pumpkin that was part of a Halloween display."

No, really... this is his mug shot.

EDIT: Apparently this story is a few years old. Nevertheless, I still think it's worth posting here.

Re: In today's news...

Honestly more frightening than most horror-film monsters.

For anybody that cares at this point, the EU Referandum taking place in Great Britain is virtually neck and neck, with the 'Leave' campaign recently gaining a lot of traction. Voting will take place on the 23rd.

To sum up, people are being hysterical, Civil Service and other people in positions of authority who should be impartial, are not being impartial, Government is pretty much loading the odds in it's favour, the more facts thrown around, the less we actually understand, we actually won a court-case against Brussels for something.

And oh lord, it's promised if we leave, we'll threaten world peace and prosperity, we'll suffer a recession, economy will go into meltdown, pound will weaken, taxes will rise and public services will be cut (but not the foreign aid budget, naturally), at some point, the seas will rise, locusts will swarm us, and we'll be Little Englanders again. Also the Scottish Nationalists will want another Independence Referendum after declaring it a once in a lifetime vote.

Have fun figuring out the real from the predicted and fantastical.

Re: In today's news...

If Britain leaves the EU, all will have three years winters in succession with no summers in between. There will be wars innumerable, and brothers turn against one another.
The sun and moon will be eaten by wolves and the dead will rise to do battle one final time.

That's what I've heard from the British gov and media about this voting thing anyway

Just go back to the Days of Awesome, and establish a whole bunch of colonies. Rebuild the British Empire upon which the sun never set. :3

Re: In today's news...

Except the sun did set, and we had something of a negative connotation to it, put politely. ^^' Ah well...
