Heyheyhey, American Dad is awesome. And I wouldn't really call it a Simpsons parody, hell do you even know what the word parody means? Family Guy is shit because of its non-stop clips that are irrelevant to what could only be loosely called a plot of each episode and the constant in your face Meg jokes. I mean seriously, what has she done to deserve such hate? Granted there'll always be a character that's going to be made fun of but christ, they take it to the extreme with Meg. There has only been one 'good' episode of Family Guy and that's when Brian and Stewie end up locked in a vault for the weekend. Also, Simpsons has been getting stale for several seasons now and while it's still better than Family Guy I feel Groening is just trying to milk and almost dead cow.

While I agree that "parody" isn't the best word to describe what Family guy and American dad are to Simpsons. The only thing I see is that all three shows are "slice of life" comedies with no real plot going on. While I'm not calling them bad, Simpsons were first and I don't remember being as amused watching Family guy and American dad for the first time as I was when I watched Simpsons for the first time, so I just dropped them. My opinion, which I'm not forcing onto anyone else.
And while I didn't watch the last few seasons it's no surprise they are going stale, heck they have been coming out for more then 20 years, no one can keep up making good jokes about the same world for that long.

Again you're using a wrong term, all three of them wouldn't be considered
You must be registered to see the links
. If anything they're sitcom's as well as being satirical, though Family Guy and American Dad would be considered dark comedy as well.
