League of Legends: Builds, Tips, and Tricks

Re: Leauge of Legends: Builds, Tips, and Tricks

Kog is high on my list of champions that make me rage because he deals a f***ton of damage regardless of his build. Nidalee is very annoying too.

Re: Leauge of Legends: Builds, Tips, and Tricks

In my case, Kog is a killer longranged champ (where I like to hide), whereas Nidalee has the right mix of defensive (her human skills) and PUNY HERO I KEEL YOU IN A FEW CLICKS (panther, obviously) to make me rather versatile. Though I have played other champs, I find if I need to go offensive that's who I usually reach for.

Re: Leauge of Legends: Builds, Tips, and Tricks

Kog puts out a shit-ton of damage, though if you're going AD, IMO it's best to get a buff/item that slows, since Flash always fucks me up if I don't have something to slow besides his Ooze.
At least with AP you have the Artillery Barrage to finish people off with. Kog with Madred's Blood Razor and 750 AP is fucking scary.

WHEE NEW MASTERIES.

Pretty much been going 21/?/? on most non-tank champions.
For tanks I prefer a ?/21/?.
Haven't really gone ?/?/21 yet, and I don't particularly plan on doing it because, well, I don't think I'll ever need to. I think there are only a few champs that may ever need it, and I don't think I play any of them. We'll see, though. Might try it with Maokai.

Re: Leauge of Legends: Builds, Tips, and Tricks

You know, even considering how utterly horrifying he can be, I don't see him all that often. Then again, that might be a good things.

I'm balacing my masteries so far between offense and defense. I don't have many champion right now, so I don't really make multiple pages, and most of the time I just use one, so yeah. Maybe I should practice with a bigger number of champs, but I just get attached to my favorites.

Re: Leauge of Legends: Builds, Tips, and Tricks

I've not gotten to level 20 yet, so not concerned myself much to masteries. Thus, been pouring them all into 0/0/15, due to all the extra bonuses to mana and stuff (cause I fight as a lot of spamspellers anyway, so mana boosts ftw!)

As for Kog, he takes some getting used to. His closerange isn't too good unless you know what you're doing, and his alt can steal a ton of mana after a few shots, especially as it's cost goes up by quite a bit every shot.

Re: Leauge of Legends: Builds, Tips, and Tricks

Real men cast from HP.

I have to say, the new utilities seem less useful to me unless you put a considerable number of points in them, or really need mana. Defense tree gives me more of what I need, I think. Altough reducing time before respawn is always useful.

Re: Leauge of Legends: Builds, Tips, and Tricks

So, didn't think I'd like Shyvana.

I THOUGHT WRONG.

Didn't really like the crit build I tried (though the damage was insane) because I couldn't stay in the fight. So I went with an AS + Lifesteal build and OMFG LOOK AT ME GO. Bloodthirster and Stark's FTW. Also grabbed Frozen Mallet, Black Cleaver, and Merc Treads. Finished it with Madred's Blood Razor. I FELT LIKE A GOD except for the once or twice they decided 'FUCK IT KILL SHYVANA,' and proceeded to use their silence, slow, taunt, and BOTH STUNS to kill me first. And then they proceeded to die to the rest of my team =p

Re: Leauge of Legends: Builds, Tips, and Tricks

Junglers with new masteries are god mode. Under 4 mins and super safe clear for Rammus and Amumu? Fuck yeah.

Re: Leauge of Legends: Builds, Tips, and Tricks

Mission accomplished, comrade Kusanagi.

I guess they might have improved life for jungler because they aren't picked often in pubs, perhaps? Most people there just don't have the habit to get a jungler in team.

Re: Leauge of Legends: Builds, Tips, and Tricks

They probably saw all of the champions that could jungle, but were getting passed over for the 3 or 5 that were always getting picked, because the rest had a hiccup with jungling that usually ended up in failure.

Junglers don't typically get picked in pubs because there's usually not enough co-ordination. I've had plenty of pubs, though, where people actually spoke up and called shit. Hell, one time I had a Jungleplank in a pub, and it worked really well because people actually called shit.

Re: Leauge of Legends: Builds, Tips, and Tricks

Finally, masteries that are actually useful for going something other than x/x/21.

Re: Leauge of Legends: Builds, Tips, and Tricks

On a side rant in between being pulled away by friends again, will they please stop screwing with the jungle? First masteries that made Amumu and Rammus pseudo god-mode, now a remake that brings nightmares like Jungle Malphite, Blitz, and Eve back to the show? Eesh... ((Okay, Jungle Eve isn't scary without cloak + stun, but still.))

Re: Leauge of Legends: Builds, Tips, and Tricks

This is going to be either hilarious or horrible.

Welcome to the jungle, we've got fun and games...

Re: Leauge of Legends: Builds, Tips, and Tricks

Jungle Annie.
THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD.

Been trying Orianna lately. My god, the saves. ALL the saves. And assists.
That ball is fucking pure evil. Though I do keep fucking up the Ulti. It looks like it reaches a little further than it does.
Definitely liking Rabadon's and Archangel on her. Add a Rod of Ages and some CD, and that's game right there. Banshee's Veil and a Void Staff round it out nicely.

Re: Leauge of Legends: Builds, Tips, and Tricks

Meh, you can learn the ranges with some practice.

I hate playing against Orianna because she's VERY annoying with that ball. I don't exactly remember all her abilities right now, since I haven't seen her in a while, but whenever she appears, she's a tough cookie to eat. Very nasty combo with any destructive champ.

Re: Leauge of Legends: Builds, Tips, and Tricks

Q is an attack with the ball, similar to Sivir's Q, except it stays where she throws it to. W is an AoE Nuke that leaves an area behind that slows enemy/speeds up ally movement speed. E attaches her ball to an ally and shields them temporarily, and as long as it's attached, they also get bonus armor/MR; ALSO, because they have the ball, they become to focal point of her W and R - FUCKING EVIL. Her R grabs enemies in range and throws them towards the ball and behind it - the further the enemy, the further back they're thrown. As I've said before, the range is a little deceptive, it doesn't go as far as you think it'll go at first, so, yes, I know, it takes practice.

ON TO NEW STUFF.

So, they're finally fucking with Sivir. Mainly because they want to get rid of the dodge mechanic, they changed her passive to pretty much be Vayne's, in that she gets more MS if she's attacking someone. They also changed her Ricochet into an 'on next hit' effect. Which is a shame, IMO, because it's what made her, well, her. It looks like it has a relatively low CD, at least, but it means no more GODLY minion rape. It's still nice, just not GODLY.

Re: Leauge of Legends: Builds, Tips, and Tricks

THAT ULT. The skill I hate most about Orianna, without a doubt.

As for Sivir changes. I kinda doubt this will improve her much, but who knows. Maybe they'll do more in the future. As for the change of her Q, I wouldn't say it's that bad. True, on next hit does tend to extend the time between consecutive uses considerably, depending on the situation, but it's not a horrible thing.

And if you ask me, nothing rapes a creep wave faster than AoE/multihit, be it melee DPS or ranged nuke.

Re: League of Legends: Builds, Tips, and Tricks

A while ago, Orianna was considered OP as hell due to how good she was at lane dominance AND how much she could do in general. A few nerfs caused her to sink below the radar...only for them to stealth buff her again. To be fair? Orianna can probably become a terror again to anyone who takes time to learn her.

Re: League of Legends: Builds, Tips, and Tricks

Tried Veigar today. Little git is a bit tricky to use effectively, but his nukes (particularly W and R) hit insanely hard. I think the AP ratio on his ult is above 1.0, plus that +80% damage from enemy AP... Christ. Squishy as Hell, though, I think he has the lowest HP of all the champions I've seen.

Re: League of Legends: Builds, Tips, and Tricks

Veigar is a bit of a coin flip champion. You either instagib the enemy, or they instagib you before you can instagib them. One of the hardest scaling AP carries in the game, due to his Q bonus AP...but, actually not viable in competitive play (unless you're NYJacky >.>) due to his weak laning phase (those cooldowns...) and him being about as durable as soggy toilet paper.
