ACT Vore Loli Ryona [Lycoris] 異形の箱庭

Re: Lycoris 異形の箱庭 (H ACT)

Oh? Since when was it updated? Last time i saw it it was still really low on content. Is it really finished?

Re: Lycoris 異形の箱庭 (H ACT)

I was only made aware of this game a few weeks ago, so I don't know for how long exactly this game has been complete. But it really is a complete game with 6 endings and a few extra mini-games on top of that.

This game is definite gem that a lot of people forgot about, mainly cuz the maker didn't update it for like 2 years at one point, so the thread was dead for quiet a while.

I haven't played the translated version yet, but do any of the endings result in h-scenes or is it just your typical good/bad/true endings? I never managed to make it very far in the Japanese version, even with the walkthrough

This game doesn't have a good ending and there's no H-scenes in them. There's no CG game-over screens either. Some death scenes have H-content, but mostly vore/guro.
Yeah, there is a true ending with final boss/stealth section after that fight. But most endings are 'dark' - when MC dies or being prisoned.

For me it doesn't even feels like a H-game, more like survival. You have to remember optimal routes with less encounters, keys/ammo/food/etc location, watch for stamina/hunger/poison/bleeding states. Translated story is good as well, imo.

Game is quite short, but it's great.

After trying repeatedly to get the game going, I eventually fumbled my way into getting it going.

Deleting the Japanese symbols, where relevant, from the explorer file path got it to initialise, as described much earlier in the thread. The box to choose Direct 3d or Draw has the ominous "???????????????" instead of any real language (aside from some reference to system.ini), which I feel is an ironic sign something went amiss in the unzipping process, but I lack the experience to recognise it.

Initially trying to launch it with Direct 3d would lock my system up, but 3d worked fine after I launched for the first time with direct draw. Weird.

Though, most of the backgrounds are busted; not there. The corridors exist outside the cell, but not the exterior or the elevator ones.

So tried setting my primary system language to Japanese and restarting. Re-downloaded, and unzipped the game again. But no change. This was true for the 1.01 r3 English translation that was posted earlier, and the 1.01 on the developer's page.

Windows 10 doesn't support Applocale, and refuses to complete a normal-user level installation, but I forced the install via command prompt anyway. It predictably didn't help here.

Compatibility mode doesn't change anything on either English or Japanese locale.

Am I being a dumb-dumb, or just unlucky?

Are you changing the actual unicode setting so Japanese and re-downloading the game? Otherwise the problem may be something simple and dumb like the file path is too long. Try moving the files to desktop and launching from there, that tends to fix some problems for me.

Re: Lycoris 異形の箱庭 (H ACT)

Only now I've noted that if your stats are low (stamina, hungry, life) she will lose concentration, and will be much harder to aim the enemie's head with an weapon. the game can be short, but have much details. can not have considerable H-content, but is a awesome game indeed.
I'm loving it very much :p

Re: Lycoris 異形の箱庭 (H ACT)

Yeah, despite loli not being my thing, this game's mechanics are cool to the point I kept playing. I hope to see more games of a similar style

I like to think I am: I go into the region & language settings, and set the Japanese language pack as the standard. It only asks for a sign out/in, but I restart, just to give it that little extra opportunity to adjust itself.

I've heard long file paths can be a thing, though I forgot to mention that I'd tried as near as my C: root, but the backgrounds are still limited to corridors. I wonder if the actual file names of the backgrounds are somehow related?

Re: Lycoris 異形の箱庭 (H ACT)

This is that kind of game that the H-content not make much difference despite the game is still good. like nightmare sphere.
The loli was realy not needed anyway. :)

Sath, If you post some screenshots, can be easy to figure out what is happening.

The numerous question marks on the launch window suggest to me that something is wrong, but I can't say what exactly.

It might also be important to mention, that if there's supposed to be a background for 'Extra' room 2, it's busted for me too. Yet Rooms 3-5 work okay.

Corridors work, but outside, and the tentacle elevator backgrounds do not.

Earlier in the thread, there was mention about using 7zip instead, though of course Mediafire blammed that link. Because I definitely extracted the game with Japanese language set as the default, with Winrar. But the English translation is a .rar, so that I can't imagine that being relevant? Does 7zip handle .rars now?

(had to resize the images a lot. I fear it's my screen, but the first clickable previews were pictures for ants, for me)

I had the exact same problem on Windows 7 before I changed system locale to japanese. Some fonts didn't displayed as well.

Re: Lycoris 異形の箱庭 (H ACT)

Have you tried to use applocale?
when we was saying about the "language", was about the "language to programs non-unicode" a thing that can be configured in the control panel. i've saw that you've changed the entire language of the OS

its the main reason that weird characters appears where japanese words are supposed to be :)

Try to change the non-unicode (if not changed yet), and use applocale to see if works.

about the missing parts in the background, seems that some files isnt being read or are missing, the engine of the game is simple, maybe without the file, it just not appears (instead of getting a crash in the game)

try and show us the results :D

I looked hard for a long while again at non-unicode, and eventually realised that the UI for Windows 10 was throwing me off from the fact that the actual option to change system locale was in the same place it always had been, in Windows.

The language tab for windows 10 quite happily lets me change the system language, keyboard input and even location. But the LOCALE, the thing I was supposed to change, was buried under a couple other menus. I don't pretend to know why changing the system language doesn't yield the same results as changing the system locale, but that's Microsoft, I guess.

Everything is working fine now: thanks Sonny, and Radeonx1950 :D

(As a footnote, Windows 10 doesn't support Applocale. I needed to force the installation via command console, and even then I'm not convinced it works properly on this OS).

Re: Lycoris 異形の箱庭 (H ACT)

You need a pistol, some ammo, and must face the boss with good amount of stamina and health (or the girl will have problems to aim)
so, just aim the monster's head and shoot. if the tentacles apeears in front of your bullets, nevermind. just shoot and reload. its super easy.

Thanks mate. Managed to make it through the rest of the game without much trouble... 'cept for that final boss, holy smokes.

Also big thanks to G2XeA for the translation (linked on previous page), didn't catch any errors on my run. :)

Re: Lycoris 異形の箱庭 (H ACT)

Finally got around to beating all 6 endings of the updated and English translated version, I can finally be at ease after knowing the full story of this game.
Also the extra mission where you escort the little girl was a cute little minigame as well.

Re: Lycoris 異形の箱庭 (H ACT)

I used to follow and play this game a long time ago, back in some early beta days. I'm curious if any new h has popped into the game since I last played, which was the double scientists and the purple draining guy. Has anything else h-worthy been added since?
