Since I'm a non-drinker and forgot to ask for that day off, it was very meh. Thus, the legal aspects were really all there was to do.

@Chibi: was this an uncle you liked or one you didn't really know? Either way, you've got my sympathies for you and the family, but if it's the latter, have fun on your mini-break away from everyday life, and if it's the former, well there's not really much anybody can say to make you feel better so I won't try.

I figured you meant the legal aspects, which is what I was referring to as well. Luckily they give you a bit more time if you're over seas to get that part taken care of. Still a pain in the ass though.

The drinking part wasn't all that exciting either since it was legal to drink at 18 there. Not that it would matter to you though.

Get a backup, and a backup for your backup, my good laptop broke a few days ago, and I'm just using my backup while it's getting fixed. And if this one breaks I have a third laptop as backup-backup.

If my laptop craps out, I have my parent's laptop. And if that's unavailable, I can use my PSP. And if that dies, I think I can use my iTouch (or w/e it is I got... didn't ask for it, but apparently I 'needed' it...). And if I can't use that, there's always my bro's computer.

And then there's always mooching off friends when all else fails.
