Oh this looks fantastic.
The demo links don't seem to be working anymore, anyone got a download?

Here is the latest public demo I've released so far. I plan on another one at the end of the month that will be a bit more updated.

I'm with theunholy on this one. Not enough high quality 3d H out there, if certain people can't run it on their computer it might be time for an upgrade, or this project might not be for them.

Re: [Unreal Engine 4] Meridiana’s Magical Investigations - Stealth 3D Game

Okay just played through the demo there, it makes me hopeful for what's possible if the right people try. I know it's hard to make and takes time but this could turn out to be some amazing!
Really tempted to back you on patreon but the time between content added and the amount of money would need to be spent can't justify it. But if and when a final release comes out or a more updated flushed out game I'd happily pay some money for it.
Looking forward to the end of the month for the updated demo you mentioned.
Keep up the great work though!

That's a pretty dickish opinion to have. Plenty of 3d games run well on lower-end PC's and I even have a friend on steam whose computer is literally a brick and it manages to run Warframe without dropping frames. I would say if OP can't optimize, that he should look into tutorials on how the Unreal Engine does optimize.

The demo is pretty bare-bones, and I don't think anyone should rush to fund it quite yet. Funding something like this with little to no substance in the demo (unless I'm wrong, you actually removed the sex and replaced it with a "you died" text and smiley). It looks good with the character having pretty good animations, but that UI is unrefined and the lack of sex scenes or, at the very least, some story content makes it difficult to get behind this. If I were Kevin O'Leary and ULMF paid me to analyze things, I would say that this would be a bad investment for anyone who wants to fund a project.

Nothing against you, and I hope you continue with this project. I just don't think with what you've produced that the project is worth backing or getting hype over just yet.

Just to be clear, I did say I'm going to try to optimize it as much as I can. I'm pretty confident with Unreal engine and understand how to use its tools to identify and correct bottlenecks!

As for the build, the sex hasn't been removed. In order to have sex with enemies you must sneak up on them and charm them, so the sex IS still there.

Your critiques of the UI are certainly fair, its purely utilitarian at this point. There is no story elements yet, so its fair to be skeptical of that as well.

While I certainly don't disparage your opinion, I would ask that people curious about what I'm doing look at my weekly updates, and check out my public demos. I think I do have a little something going here.

You know from the last few messages that I have seen it looks like people are afraid to do the per month payments if the developer does not release at least 1 new build a month so I would probably try the per major game update option on patreon to see if it draws more people. Then they can pay say $10 for a build that has content in say the 3 months it takes to create the content instead of $30.

Nah, it's not. I pissed and moaned for years that I didn't want to upgrade from windows XP, but guess what? I still had to do it. Having to upgrade, whether it's software or hardware is a universal requirement for playing games on a PC (even with consoles, gotta buy a whole new system every few years). When all of ONE porn game comes along that requires current-gen middle of the road specs you either suck it up and upgrade (I am well aware that people may WANT to upgrade but be unable too, yeah it sucks), or you don't.

Yeah, actually i a have pledged several times and monthly demos is only changed a bit. I understand that from developer side every demo is a huge effort and step forward, like new shadind model, new aimation system, etc. But from supporters side it is not really much added coparing to previous builds. Still, this game is very promicing and i'll try to stick together for a wile.

I was a bit critical of you based on skepticism, so I thank you for tolerating my cruelty.

I have to work to have sex with my enemies? WORSE THAN HITLER!

I jest, but are there future plans to implement a mechanic where enemies can turn the tables?

Your critiques of the UI are certainly fair, its purely utilitarian at this point.
To be fair, you did headline the post with it being a developmental demo at this stage. I was a bit of an ass, so I apologize for being overtly critical about that.

There is no story elements yet, so its fair to be skeptical of that as well.
Same thing as above, although I would say if you're set on continuing the project, I'll sta-keep tabs on you.

I agree completely that you do have something. I'm skeptical of patreon projects since... Forever. I've been burned in the past by people who asked for money for a concept or little more than a half-done project, so it stands to reason that my skepticism has sharpened to the point of being a spike trap. That said, if you are as dedicated as you appear to be, I wouldn't mind funding this when there is more content to chew on.

To be fair, nobody wanted to upgrade from XP and given that I only upgraded roughly a couple years ago and it's still used in programming classes (from what I've been told), it can be the difference between necessity and moderate recommendation at times. Hardware, depending on the graphical and processing demands, usually requires an upgrade to run most games nowadays, yes. That said, I play Planetside 2 with an old AMD 7750 just fine, and as I've said, my friend runs Warframe pretty good (his card is something like a year behind mine).

People generally choose not to upgrade either out of a sense of priorities (lack of disposable income, mostly) or because their last upgrade was recent enough that a lot of the software/hardware performs good enough not to be a concern. To each their own, though. Back on topic!

I completely understand people being skeptical. I have been burned on crowdfunding, and I've put in lots of work on projects that fell apart because someone wasn't as dedicated as they thought.

I'm trying to be as transparent as I can, and along the way hopefully there is some non demo stuff I can release here and there.

Is there any news on when you plan on releasing a new updated demo? I really enjoyed the previous one... Saw what you've been working on on your patreon and it looks promising.

I try to release a snap shot build every month of where I am. My plan is to have a proper demo released soon. Like end of June at the latest.

I hope you can find a good e-vendor to sell this cuz I'll buy it. Don't like the Patreon model though.
