Also have to say, kind of pleasantly surprised at the level of the english translation. Even though most of the H-content I've seen so far haven't really been my cup of tea, the game is of really exceptional quality for a H-game.

Like, it's writing intended to fetishize rape and not writing for people to actually understand how fucked up and disturbing rape is. Otherwise I wouldn't be getting such a huge boner over her suffering.

Well, to each their own, but I find the writing that I've seen so far to be leaning pretty far on the 'this is fucked up and disturbing' side of things. Guess I can't really get off on pure suffering and PTSD.

Just pointing out that most of the game discussed on this forum are from the doujinshi part of DL site, and as such mostly rpg maker (wolf engine included) or interactive / flash game, it's not surprising to only be exposed to simple rapey scene as seen in thoses game (aka : omg, I don't want to... wait, why does it feel good if I don't want it... OMG it's so good I want more -_-).

As you say, Eroge (VN, ADV...) are more in depth about the scene details. But most members here aren't really into these bigger game....

I hope the following doesn't sound tooooo condescending to the point you brought forward. But I actually work part-time as a translator for the rather niche hobby of ours. And over the years I translated and read a lot of the "Standart Formula" Eroges and H-Games. Chances are you even have played some of the games in the past years, where I was involved with. In all these years, this is one of the few games where I genuinely can say that the suffering of the main character, actually managed to hit our hearts (if there is one). As someone who has gone through millions of lines depicting suffering, rape, and other atrocities committed in name of "arousal", I can tell you that the lines in this game are rather special because they manage to remind you that you are still a human while being aroused by poor Rica's suffering, which is a really special feat to archive in an H-Game and I'm pretty sure that the author intended to illicit such feelings with his writing.

Go past the Gazer and drop down around this spot. You'll find a teleporter. Go through it and eventually you'll find the skill.

Also this is a small point but I personally really love the character customization. Really bring a lot of freshness whenever I play the game imo.

In all these years, this is one of the few games where I genuinely can say that the suffering of the main character, actually managed to hit our hearts (if there is one). As someone who has gone through millions of lines depicting suffering, rape, and other atrocities committed in name of "arousal", I can tell you that the lines in this game are rather special because they manage to remind you that you are still a human while being aroused by poor Rica's suffering, which is a really special feat to archive in an H-Game and I'm pretty sure that the author intended to illicit such feelings with his writing.

Absolutely agree. The game hits me right in the feels, ended up skipping a lot of the rape scene on my first playthrough.

Finally get 40+ achievement and unlocked all the extra stage and epilogue. I'm truly happy with the final ending of the game after all the stuff that happened.

Yeah basically I think the game was trying to hit 160 fps even with vsync on. I was wondering why the game was consuming so much power even though the dev said he heavily optimized the game (which he definitely did).
It was just that setting in config messing things up. If you have 120/140hz monitor, id set the config to 120/140.

This info should probably be added to OP. In case more people complain about GPU maxing out

I really don't get this constant talk about being human or whatever. Why does hentai need to give you a reality check? It's porn at the end of the day. It doesn't matter if you fap to the most fucked up shit. If you're able to separate fiction and reality then you're still very much human and it doesn't matter.

All the rape eroges I've read doesn't have any eng translation so there is zero chances I played any of your "translations". I highly doubt you gone through experiencing that much suffering in hentai if you're being so affected already by this writing. This is nothing in comparison to many many other titles. Please read something like Bishop's Kutsujoku series. That's actual good writing. Not this.

Eh I'm gunna agree with T4ke on this one. I've played a lot of rape eroge personally and really never empathized to much with the heroines since to me at the end of the day it's just porn. With this game I can clearly tell the author put a lot of thought into the writing of Rikka as some of the scenes even make me do a double take thinking 'damn this is pretty fucked up', which never really happens to me. Being able to actually empathize with the main heroine is pretty rare.

The heroine is constantly making depressing remarks about being soiled, dirty, useless, weak, etc and expresses fear towards being abandoned by her companions cause of it. The rape scenes are written without holding much back, usually with Rikka begging or crying. Things like this are pretty rare IMO.

I also don't think the tropes you noted as unrealistic automatically equal bad writing. They are essentially fetishes that are more or less subjective and people generally like that kind of stuff otherwise it wouldn't be a trope. How is Rikka supposed to go on her grand adventure if she turns into a veggie after being raped by goblins?

Lastly, statements like 'You haven't seen good H writing until you've read X' come off as super gatekeepy/elitiest and your argument is better without it.

Well, you have to get certain amount of achievements for them to unlock. Maybe you wanna try to unlock them yourself first. Though I can share if you really want.
