Re: Multiplayer Gaming
That is an awesome video.
Back to Alien Swarm for at least a moment:
I found 3 maps that so far seem to work fine, even if there are one or two things that could have been done differently with them.

- Hold out against the swarm for 10 minutes to win!
>>>Meh. Standard survival map. The spawns work, there are enough enemies to shoot, the problem with this map lies in the fact that unless a sentry gets blown up, just 3 sentries can keep almost every enemy bottled up at the entrance hallways. About the only trouble you'll encounter will be the shooting aliens that crawl out of the grate, and possibly a drone or 3. Fliers are a given. The Artillery alien does spawn at some point to make it a little more frustrating, but most likely you'll just kill it to get it over with. Still, if you play by yourself, you can easily rack up the kills, though you have to start with two sentries (there's a sentry on the pool table to make the third one) if you want to block up the choke points. There are a couple of Chainsaws, a Flamethrower, an Assault Rifle, a PDW, and I think there's a Shotgun, though it usually gets spawned somewhere I can't reach it at, so I don't really know. There are also some ammo packs/Flamethrower canisters set up, as well as a couple of off-hand Med Packs and Incendiary Mines.

- Another survival map. Your goal is to destroy 7 Eggs and 200 Aliens, then escape through the top door.
>>>Better than the 'Lost Cause' map IMO, and although you could solo it with Faith, I really recommend playing it with some buddies. The Eggs are always in the same place, so unless you're stupid or have the AI Director on and have enabled Parasites, you shouldn't have any issues with Parasites. The issue comes when you get mobbed by Drones and the explodey ones. There's also an Artillery Alien or 3. There are some ammo packs on the map, but that's as much as it gives you - anything else, that's up to you to bring.
These next couple of maps I haven't actually tried yet, but I've been meaning to.

- Yep, someone's made a survival map out of the Office level in Counterstrike: Source.
>>>From the comments I've read, it's really easy to just block entrances with turrets in this one. Still, it's an interesting concept that I intend to check out.

- A 3-map campaign that concludes with a boss fight at the very end.
>>>From what I've read, it seems like there are issues with lighting, and the boss isn't really 'introduced', you just kind of run into the room and go 'HOLY SHIT'. If for nothing else, I'll try it because this is the only non-beta 'campaign' that I've found.
