Re: (Nutaku) Milenium War Aigis (English Version)
If you seriously cannot understand why Liana can still be useful given her cost, you're beyond help.
Yes, it requires some thought. No, she is not the ideal healer in every situation. If you want one of those, Fedora and/or gold Iris are very solid. If you want a powerhouse that heals over 600 ALL THE TIME, can remove stuns/paralysis/etc., and can get a huge range, Liana is your girl.
One of the unfortunate/fortunate things about Liana is she really doesn't gain much in raw power from awakening. If you have her at cc80 she'll really only go up a few points getting to aw99. It's for this reason I've AW'd my Fedora and Iris first; they simply get more from it. It doesn't make any sense to me, but that's how it is.
Liana is a fire and forget healer. I like those types of healers. Fedora is my mainstay as being both solid all-the-time healing and incredibly good cost. Iris can be useful, yes, but I have never once run into a situation where her+skill is required to heal something that Liana cannot heal. You're trading UP for convenience and consistency. That's a trade I am happy to make anytime UP isn't too tight, which is often. If it is, I'll just run Fedora and Iris. Maybe a silver.
What Liana also allows you to do is never need more than 3 healers. She will, in most cases, effectively replace 2 silver healers. This makes her more efficient for the spot and UP than 2 silvers. Just about anytime I see a strat that uses 4 healers, I know I'll only need 3 between Liana and my 2 golds. In the last map of eastern, I placed her and Fedora on the top left to heal my Lyla. Even when I popped Lyla's Risk Life they always healed her to full.
You can't use Liana all the time, but she's good at what she does. For my playstyle, I'd rather not have to worry about popping a skill in time or else my units die -- or worse, popping at the wrong time, and having the duration fall off and my units die.
Saying Iris has higher raw healing than Liana is flat out wrong. She has higher *burst* healing potential, but more often than not her skill is not up. Over time, Liana heals more.
Should Liana cost less? Yeah. She should be a 22 base cost at a minimum. Is she unusable? No, you just have to put some thought into it. I run Mikoto instead of a mage, so I can afford Liana; those sorts of tradeoffs are what you think about when you watch a video or run a map. Liana isn't my most-placed healer, but I have zero complaints when I do get to use her.
I do have 2 soldiers and I would much rather use the points on something not completely useless like an overpriced healer. I'd rather get out some damage on the field so the map can be cleared faster.
You can use your Liana, good luck using her on tight cost maps like Danger in the Oasis though.
Yes, I will compare her to Alissa or gold Iris.
Liana at max heals for 637, with her skill up she heals for... 637.
Iris at max heals for 498, with her skill up she heals for... 597.6.
Alissa at max heals for 378, with her skill up she heals for... 415.8.
And that's assuming skill level 1. With even skill level 2 gold Iris heals for 647.4. Look at that, a 2/5 skill gold out heals your precious black unit who costs at least 5-6 more points to summon.
If you seriously cannot understand how bad a max cost Liana is, you're beyond help.
