Christopher didn't make the cut at one point and I'm fairly sure it wasn't cause he was too loli, though there's probably a more far eastern themed event that introduces them.

I've been working the day (and waiting patiently till my charisma/stamina bars refill), and leisurely reading the forum.

So many players have complained about the difficulty of the event. So, I was like "Oh cool! Some gr8 challenge coming up!".


So..

my char and 16 stam has finally filled out 10 mins ago.

And 7 missions (including the supposed-to-be extra difficulty Heated Battle G map) three starred first try without looking at videos or other guides (except Lafate's neat and cozy guide here)... and ZERO challenge...


err.. where's the hard part?

I'm not boasting - i'm honestly wondering (cuz, for instance, the extra mission during Ada event did give me a lot of trouble and fun.)


Is this "monstrous difficulty" (hopefully) in remaining missions?

btw, this event is the first one, where my VH Vincent (and i was stupid enough to invest tons of resources into max affecting/lvling him) has finally been of use.

Duh... Don't know about the platinum lady VH but that gold copycat of Van Helsing is just almost as pitifully weak as Hunter Stray. That is outside current event.

What bugs me is how male units are either among the very best in the game (Gellius) or vice-versa - the worst ones (like the abovementioned Stray, Christopher or Cyrus). There are no "average" guys.

I just rearranged my units. Still covered the main areas and did just fine, though I'm not sure about clearing Final Battle in the Dark Night X without buffs. In my set up, I have Fedora, Iris, Dorca, Alissa and Christopher as my heals and last I checked, they don't compare with Chydis mostly due to the Gold/Silver vs Plat rarity. Iris does great for being a Gold unit but....Chydis is better from what I understand in just about every way except having a higher UP cost.

Just as a note, DMM launched the game with two different gold female loli Archers, Claire and Bella. They also got Stray later.

Obviously both the lolis were cut and we just got Stray.

See the trend? It's ROCK or SUCK.

No male equivalents of, for example, silver Pallis, or even Allisa (whom, albeit being the very first unit i got at all, I still use at times) or, say, gold mehlis, etc. - your "average" nice but not great ladies.

Didn't expect you guys to get Hores so early, I feel sorry for everyone who farmed Charlotte.

The ninth map was one of the only maps in Aigis history (the other being last map from Sorano) which doesn't have a silver or lower map clear. There's only platinum or below or a not reproduce-able gold or below strategy.

Looking forward to mission No. 9!!!!

Just cleared Homo-Island on highest difficulty, dropping by to comment on male units.

As for Gellius, Jerome, and Conrad - correct. They rock.

^ Correct. Every single Platinum male units are monsters in their respective area even post AW.

Jerome = #1 deployment cost regen
Julius/Gellius = #1 defense (Arguable)
Marius ... em what is Marius good for again? That's right, a complete switch unit with 'x1.4 attack' >>

Hien is decent. Other ones are indeed ignorable.

All silver males that I know - suck too. Completely.

Compared to female counter-part, all silver/gold male bandits are decent. It's about the only male unit you would need until Christopher (Silver healer) and Bernard (Silver heavy armor) gets their affection bonus.
In the future, there's a bandit buff. All 3 bandits become monster-like. (Better than female duelist/intercept by a noticeable amount)

Note: The only units required raising to clear every single male only map (last one requires Ikemen/Super Prince):

The way I see it, Conrad is the ultimate bandit in the game.

Not only bandit, but i dare to say the (nearly) ultimate 1-block "normal" duelist too.

2. Bernard? I don't get it. Even Leanne is much better than this guy. Am I missing something?

3. Christopher. Well yeah. He's cheap male silver healer, so I understand in male only maps (potentially in male only events) he will be useful.

But outside those very specific cases, he just sucks as said before....

4. With respect to silver males I've yet see pirate Giovanni and the silver Samurai (forgot his name). Are they any good overall?

Hey Draa, yeah this was a surprise, somewhat pleasant since it afforded another challenge, although it is also a little disappointing since it's also looking increasingly likely that we're going to skip a few events for some time.

I'm not even certain what we're going to do next, whether go back and do Yurina or continue to skip her and do Ricca, Azami, or Momiji next, possibly those three in that order even. We may also have Claudia sooner than expected, so free players may definitely want to start hoarding SC if they haven't already since that's a collection event for a Plat Princess with a true damage skill.

Anyways, all maps 3-starred, although Ada broke my min-cost event streak that managed to go from our first event until then since she refused to go below -4 CR despite the number of copies used, so Horace is the start of my new tally. With that out of the way, I'll probably farm a few more silvers; especially Pallis to meet future mage needs and for both CC and AW fodder and then build up some more fairies, affection items, and crystals for AW fairies.

Dunno , but Giovanni is use to AW Archer in the future
IIRC it needs 2xGiovanni to AW Archer

Jeez, Dark Night X is no joke. The Main managed to 3* it though I had to readjust my strat as Draa's wasn't working, mainly it was that I only have Kerry for a Valkyrie so she get's destroyed when Horace comes in pretty much ruining the entire set up from there, the Alt will probably have no problem since I have Dahlia on there.

Looking at the God tier maps I might probably have to use the damage reduction blessing, but I'll run through them once or twice to see if I can 2* one of them then 1* the other without it (as we have 2 weeks so no real rush) since I don't think I can 3* them with the teams I have.

Ricca is great, Shizuka >> Momiji, but Momiji can do some ridiculous things herself when maxxed. Claudia is em, the gacha plat princess are better than her after AW.
But she's still good since a lot of strats require a Princess.

Pallis to meet future mage needs => Spoken like a boss. Pallis is arguably better than all the gold mages in the damage department pre-AW.

Lack of Mischa ruins a lot of the JP low rarity strat. Not much I can do about that one sorry. Glad you got it working though, congrats!

The way I see it, Conrad is the ultimate bandit in the game.

The platinum rarity Laila is, by far. Conrad is decent/great depending on how much you invest into him.

In terms of multiple bandit, they are great for 'drag and drop against enemy mage/black goblin archer' (single not swarm)/etc.
^ Deploy/kill/retreat or intercepts. They can trivialize some difficult situation if used correctly.

2. Bernard? I don't get it. Even Leanne is much better than this guy. Am I missing something?

Bernard has hp affection bonus, allow him to tank slow one-hitter better than Leanne. Otherwise, Leanne is better due to higher defense.

Bernard: 2206 HP 400 Defense (2690 Effective/2980 Skill)
Leanne: 1875 HP 439 Defense (2406 Effective/2724 Skill)

Christopher: 328 Attack / 585 w/skill
Male only mission and if you need a 3rd silver healer. Otherwise, I dislike him as much as you do. The gold male healer is even worse by the way.

Horrid + Horrid. But AW material, so they are useful. (As Larcx mentioned. CC material for Giovanni, and silver samurai (for AW mage for example) is the only option until female silver samurai comes out)

Throughout the entire game, it teaches you one basic strategy; Form a wall with melee units, then surround it with healers and ranged attackers. This is the strategy the game teaches you and very, very rarely do you ever play with different strategies. And those that do are usually Challenge Maps that rely on a gimmick, like No Melee Units or No Healers, etc.

The wealth of outside resources aside (Lafate's Guide, the wiki, videos), the in-game text itself tells you what is happening. All of the Urgent Mission Drill and Strategy Lessons tell you different tactics and ways to deal with different types of enemies.

If you actually read the story text, it also tells you the basic properties of the new enemies you are facing. Mummies get stronger when they are closer to death. This isn't a secret, the game informs you, in plain english, that this is the case. While there have been some iffy translations (Horace = Horus?) mechanics really haven't been among them.

Furthermore the game shows you really easy to deal with versions of these new mechanics (weak mummies, often alone or maybe 2 together) in the early, easy maps, and then ramps up the difficulty in later maps. The game teaches you how to play it. And if that's not enough, the internet is the best information source of all time. Of all time.

I'm not going to knock you or blame you for having a learning disability. But if you want to be successful in spite of it, make full use of the information the game itself hands you. Don't skip past all the story text. Read up on the wiki. Watch videos. Or devise a strategy on your own. How much Charisma/Stamina you want to spend learning how to deal with something is up to you.

Dark Night X destroyed my team completely. I really suck in games like these...

I somehow miss those easy events. It was nice just collecting more waifus to my harem.
