I had a nagging suspicion as well, when I looked at the preview screenshots.
Hopefully, this will just be a couple more pixels to add, and not a hideous unrecognizable mash. I really just can't stand these hypocritical antics anymore.

Edit: the dev could also publish it on Steam as well. I saw some comments mention it.
 
Hmmm, if he ever mentions considering another place to upload it might be worth waiting to see if he follows through with it. I'd rather buy this game literally anywhere else to spite dlsite's cuck policies, and for them being a space for AI art to quickly clutter up every genre's library. Give it a good month for that shit to happen.

Otherwise, try not to overwhelm Quail with site suggestions. I'm sure this is killing him too, guy's a solo dev being denied sales by the dumbest practices in the gaming industry.

Just wait, with the track dlsite's on they're going to go into the absurd censorship we've seen with some of doujin conventions. Just straight up putting whiteout over all the fun stuff.
 
Pixiv and Booth has been doing this too, they picked up some evil investors and they decided to ruin hentai. Same people that are fuckin with Sony too probably, fuckin subhuman scumbags... Kinda sad Steam seems to be their only hope now considering how dogshit steam moderation is.

You literally just pay to put a game on their storefront in most cases.

I wouldn't be too quick to blame this on outside forces though. Given how this is a standing tradition I could see it being pushed further along by cultural shifts and not malignant actors attempting to achieve an intentional goal. There are some people here in the "west" that believe that pornography is harmful, not in some abstract way but directly in that giving people an alternative to finding a partner causes them to avoid finding a partner. If a belief like that was pervasive enough ( laughable as it is ), in a society that had pornographic censorship laws it wouldn't be a stretch of the imagination to see those laws becoming stricter.

The west has been sliding back and forth between degeneracy and normalcy, not against it per say. The only places that are striving for 'purity' in moral, cultural and unification of the mind, is certain RED countries that treat their politics with religious dogma. I wouldn't be surprised if the malignant actors hail from said locations given their economic boom with no idea on how to properly spend it, if perhaps launder it so they don't get fucked by their own government. It's also possible the investors are intentionally trying to destroy the company within so they can be bought out, a popular tactic known to work in the west with various oligarchies, we practically invented the - fuck you, switcharoo - strategy against the business founder's wishes. The last potential possibility is they're trying to dismantle the employee infrastructure to petition to ESG funding, but I don't know if Japan has those policies to say if that's actually the case.

But I digress, dlsite, pixiv and the like must obviously know this is counterproductive, they're being forced to do these things but who knows if they can be saved at this point. If they get bought out by Tencent or 'saved' by their own government, then I guess we'll know who the villain was heh.

I did say some people. And yeah it's an obvious backlash to the problematic degeneracy the majority seem to be trending towards.

I mean, if you've got their stockholder records please do share with the class.

I'm as lost in this as everyone else, I can only speculate it based on what I've seen happen over the years. Though like I said, when dlsite goes tits up and they announce changes in their company of their own necessity, we'll know then however late it will be who was likely the culprit based on the strings attached. Assuming we care to read the Japanese business speak.
 
At this point if there isnt any good alternative devs may aswell just release the game with a link to a patch that completes the game.
 
I'm going to say that we're rather unlikely to experience whiting out or overcensoring of nsfw content here. I don't think dlsite will be that harsh towards Quail in terms of censorship, his stuff is already pixel art and there has consistently been less scrutiny shown towards pixel art nsfw games. Many titles around Zell23's pixel resolution, much bigger even, can sit completely untouched.

The main offenders are likely the following:
-Enemies shown in the first page's spoilered comments depicting phallic-shaped enemies. There only seems to be one type though.
-Any scenes related towards these phallic-shaped enemies, obviously.
-A boss-type enemy with uncensored dicks sprouting from their person. That's a definitely a 100% change, and potentially the only thing they may even change.

Unlikely offender suggestions:
-Upscaled art scenes, as seen in Setaria. Not likely to be the case but DLsite's reviewers and policies may have changed things, but I don't think they'd have fair grounds when Quail's always been careful to filter them properly. Think the youtube method of people getting demonetised videos, asking for help and getting more videos demonetised from the extra attention; they can't overpunish if nothing's out of place.
-Nude upscaled art without nsfw content. Quail featured a few of these pieces on his ci-en for likely game-featured purposes. Huge shot in the dark.
-Possibly the "Key" object? I don't know Japan's stance on sexual objects, it seems to be shaky at best.
-Any scenes featuring sexual objects or mechanical objects resembling dicks. Same subject as the previous one but I think the "key" scene is angled to avoid further censoring anyway.

Extremely unlikely offenders:
-Any in-game scenes of normal resolution. Quail understands the censorship dictation pretty well so once again they can't do anything further if nothing's out of place. I genuinely believe those huge blur-blobs slapped across characters is more down to lazy/rushed dev work.
-Any fetishes. Dlsite allows a lot of fucked up and disturbing stuff through normally, it's just that the standard H-game dev is unable to do much besides uggos and NTR. That's on them, 100%.
-Other enemy designs. No chance.

These are just speculations at reasoning for why the game's being delayed + what could be changed, so it ain't reliable gospel. They ARE however made with what patterns I've been able to find. Any exceptions to these are something I disregard, simply because I can see many devs lacking foresight for how this affects the end product and sloppily overcensoring their game. Now, we know Quail does not do this so if we see any changes to censorship for completely fine scenes, we know for certain Dlsite has been enforcing excessive censorship or potentially making the censors themselves.
 
Well, time to replay Setalia in the meantime, I guess.

A couple of the bosses with the really large, barely censored dicks imo is what dlsite got tipped off on. Hopefully he has a list of things and doesn't have to make guesswork
