I know that SeldomPie and his gf used to have financial problems, so I reckon he just had other things to do as this game did not bring in the money they needed. I wish they are well tho, but I doubt this game will be continued.
I see, that's to bad. He should create a patreon or something then :D

Re: Mutant Minx Meltdown - Rise of the Monstergirls!

I know I'm necroing this thread but I can't find any information as to what happened to this game´s development. I have not seen any updates in almost 2 years and no information as to why. Does anyone know? Because this game had some cool potensial and its sad to see it abandoned.
He re-emerged long enough to promise a return to development a couple of years back (see above, I believe). He made a further post on his site in the comments implying it'd be another couple of days before the next update and then was basically never seen again.

Completely fell off the face of the planet, far as I can tell. Don't know if he got arrested, had a complete breakdown, lost his computer/house/internet access again or what. I figure it's unlikely to be a born again kind of thing, because it's all still up where he left it, but either way, I don't think he's coming back.

Mutant Minxes Never Die.

Had a rough few years, mental health and otherwise, but I definitely never got arrested (WTF? :p ) I've been working some stuff up for an update, but feel shitty about vanishing again and nervous about re-appearing, and want to have a big chunk of content when I do, so stressing myself more about that, ironically. Life is fun!

It's really nice that you guys still remember the game, as it was the community reaction to it that let it grow to what it was in the first place. Who would have thought that weird monster girl text based porn game fans are the nicest dudes on the internet?

So I hope to have some new stuff for you all soon, but it's probably clear I can't be trusted with promises. Thanks again for playing the game!

Seldompie believe me, being 'famous' or looked at as a content creator has its two sides. You have to ignore the bad and go with the good! If a large number of people are enjoying it, and welcome you back, who cares about the naysayers. Do for those that actually appreciate it. I'd be wary on patreon, it'd probably stress you out to perform better. Though could do simple goals. Glad you aren't dead or arrested, or imprisoned in a foreign country on your spy trip ala roguetranslator

Got to admit, whenever a H-Game dev or artist mysteriously disappears (which they're prone to do) it's one of my go-to suspicions. It's probably not the most likely, but the idea they might have been V& is such a tidy explanation.

Glad to see you haven't been.

Also glad to hear you still have intentions to carry on development. Both of your projects were really rather good. Good enough I've kept an eye out for you for some time now, so it's great to finally make a sighting so to speak.

Well, I'm also glad to hear you're not dead either :D

This game was/is really unique. I'm not too partial on the, uh, fetish? it caters, but I really enjoyed the writing and the simple but solid mechanics. Nice experience.
Whether you add more to this game or turn to another, I'll be happy to give it a try. Take your time and don't push yourself, being consistent in H-works is really hard...

Either way, thanks for the work you've done so farl!

I'm nicer online then I am IRL even though I wish the reverse was true... :( Also Pie that's one of the great things about having a niche fanbase, your creation will gain or lose popularity but will never die.

Woo! I remember seeing that his last post on the MMM site was around Christmas and I wondered if he got in an accident or died or something since that time of year can be dangerous.

Re: Mutant Minx Meltdown - Rise of the Monstergirls!

Hello loves,

As before, can't and shouldn't makes promises, but trying to get enough worked up to relaunch and hopefully get myself razzed enough to build this stupid story to stupid awesome conclusion!

If anyone has any suggestions, big or small, I would appreciate hearing them. I can't say anything will or won't be used, but just hearing peoples thoughts, ideas and comments on the game in any capacity - gameplay, world building, writing, whatevers - really gets me thinking and reconsidering and encourages me to get on with finally completing this stupid stupid story that I am delighted, embarrassed and confused that you all have been following me on for a ridiculous amount of time now. So please shoot any thinks you got about it here, pleases.

Thanks again to alls for playing the game and not forgetting it, the post out of nowhere on this forum and people responding to it serious made my month, at the least.

Well, text games can be fun if they have mid-combat rape.

-plays game-

This one doesn't.. Okay then.

Re: Mutant Minx Meltdown - Rise of the Monstergirls!

Neither does CoC, or TiTS, or that one Alder was making. Actually, when you look at it, Fenoxo's TiTS game is the only semi-popular text-based game that's both successful and still in development. Kind of depressing, actually.

Played this a few years back and ultimately gave up. If the dev is back, neat. I won't hold my breath, though. It's silly, too, to shower a guy with praise after 2 years of nothing and he's just re-surfacing. My first words to him would be "what happened?" followed with "are you going to go full-time on the project and if so, when can we expect an update?" It's neither rude nor entitled to ask those questions.

Honestly, hope the guy continues work on this project; but, I'm also not holding out hope for it, either. I also expect some asshat to negrep me for expressing a valid point.

I am more concerned about if the author's situation has stabilized. Was afraid that hard times as came again especially with the financial and home issues years ago.

Holy shit, you're not dead! I've had some ideas kicking around for a few years...

How about a vendor that sells gear for food? When the outbreak started, once he and 2 female friends realized that women were more susceptible they found a house to bunker down with. He ended up with the 2 ladies chained up in the basement and him trying to come up with food for 3 people. Of course, once the mutations kick in those chains don't work so well... Eventually you have to help him subdue his friends again in a tag-team battle.

Assuming you're just really bad at making a humorous yet constructive suggestion: this is a run or rape/survival game... Enemies basically beat or tease you to submission. If this is what you mean, the MC is basically always the sub, yeah (except for one minx and the still-humans).
If you mean BF, as in MC being able to sexually subdue the enemy... I wouldn't mind that at all, but it would be kind of hard to justify past the first few days. Not to mention the "omg how do I even f@ck that!?"-feeling anyone would eventually get at some point in the infection.

build this stupid story to stupid awesome conclusion!
As you already know, feel free to ignore the Patreonist trolls. You know how they are: feeling entitled because they give away their lunch money to some con artists. Never mind them, they were born after freeware had died ;)

I think the game is fine simple as it is. Just, unfinished. Honestly, MMM ceases to be an H-game and becomes a Resident Evil thing very early in the infection, as far as my vanilla tastes are concerned. I can't help much H-content-wise.
However, the Lovecraftian atmosphere is really cool, you can safely capitalize on that. The 'infection curve' is a strong mechanic of the game, I'm not sure how to make more use of it...

If anything, maybe give more life to the NPCs? CoC's forte was the companions system; escaping the island with a chosen waifu (for instance) would give some plot routes/twists. Since the playtime is limited, having different endings would add to the replayability.

Some cutscenes serve no other purpose than just ambience - maybe make them more interactive, with choices to make and consequences for the island? That would also be awkward with the 'helplessness' atmosphere...

Maybe make the initial 'MC personalities' have more consequences? A 'New game+' to avoid the grind on the first week? Or just unlockable starting bonuses, given you completed this or that event/challenge?

My advice would be, just do whatever you feel like doing... More cut-scenes, more side stories, whatever you have fun writing, really. Something like the gnomes/goblins/pixies? was entertaining; any strange idea you feel like implementing would probably fit in. Many mysteries remain unexplained, and the island has many(?) unexplored areas.

If you really are motivated, draw some different plotlines, each with 1+ endings. Mix in hidden stories, easter eggs, rare shiny monsters, funny silly stuff... And you can call MMM wrapped up.

From memory, my main suggestion is really more a request for a specific focus.

Which is to say, I recall there being a number of missing scenes still for various already existing enemies. That was always disappointing, particularly because some of those enemies were the more outlandish and fascinating ones.

Get those elusive missing elements finally plugged up and you're already cooking with gas, to my mind. Building up extra features, new monster girls and moving towards some grand finale kind of thing is nice and all, but not the main development priority from my personal perspective.
