Posting this here in the hopes that someone will be able to help:
Recently I've bought myself a new laptop, and I passed over multiple things from my tabletop rig to it, one of those being a copy of the
QoF Redux collection that used to be in this thread, one that I've been modifying to suit my tastes over the years. The game runs well in my tabletop, with only the occasional hiccup or CTD, but it refuses to start in my laptop despite the version on it being an exact copy of the other one. The way I handled the move was by compressing the original into a RAR made out of many pieces and copying them into a flash drive, which then went into the laptop and copied the contents into the same exact directory path that the original is in. I first thought that the way I made the move could have something to do with it, but I don't think that's it anymore.
The error I get when I try to start the game goes something like:
The procedure entry point CreateDXGIFactory2 could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\...\d3d11.dll.
I've been doing some research and apparently the above is a fairly common issue with games that use SweetFX, which the
QoF Redux version of MUGEN does (as far as I can tell), but I haven't yet been able to find a solution that will let me play the game in my laptop, so I'm hoping that someone around here had a similar issue and managed to find a fix for it. My d3d11.dll file is in place and apparently working well as far as Windows can tell and I'm not finding any glaring errors in the MUGEN config file, so I don't know what the issue could be.
Thanks in advance, here's to hoping this will work. I don't want to build another MUGEN from the ground up for this thing.
