Hello Nookie, you are fascinating.
I say this because you write well, and are clearly literate, and yet manage to jumble up your posts and make a fool of yourself.
Our beloved administrator Nunu has gone out of his way to help you, and then given you a warning, which you completely ignored. And that's fine. If your choice is to be banned, I will not prevent you from choosing just that.
That being said, I think I can help a little when it comes to understanding the general hate that you have been receiving.
(I am sorry Nunu, I think I might be in violation of literal interpretations of rule A4, but I am doing so without spite, and only to try to offer a helping hand. Feel free to delete my post if you deem it necessary.)
Not so long ago, I did the opposite of what you, Nookie, have apparently recently done. Whilst you it seems, have just arrived from somewhere else on the grand network of the web, I went out from being on just ulmf for a while, to going to several places on the web. This made me realize that the social rules of Ulmf are different from those of most places on the internet, and we have a very different behavioral and moral code.
The part that might interest you is this:
Ulmf is a fairly close knit community, with some of the members having been around for years upon years. This has made the forum develop its own little way of acting towards others. Specifically, people take pride in punctuation, grammar, and a generally civilized tone. (Yeah, Oni and Obe too... They're just good at pretending.) All things you also seem to value.
There is another part to this of course, and that is the pride we have in being humble. People (the majority) will not throw insults without reason here, but one accepted reason is if someone comes in with a "Holier than thou" attitude. That attitude goes against a very basic part of the social dynamics of this forum, and is what got you hated in the first place.
When you then followed up by defending your arguments with things like: "if you are unable to understand this then" or "If you had read my post properly you would've..."
Now do you understand that you're digging yourself a hole by counter- attacking? The more you fight through the use of insults and direct quote nitpicking, the more opponents you attract.
