TP forums: Aftermath

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

It's also a shade more pleasant than the last time, too, given that she wasn't getting pounced on and bitten hard. "Sounds like a plan to me. I might need something a bit thicker to cut through that damn thing's limbs, though." She flexes her fingers. "Or maybe I'll just rip it apart. For now, though, what's the situation here? What happened to Burrito?"

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

Shrike shrugs. "Honestly, I don't really know much more than you do, I was working on the ship. Tsuki came on the chopper, then the darts appeared. One took Siphon, then the other six made a kamikaze run at the building I was in. Four of them disappeared from my senses all at once, then the chopper took care of the last two. My guess is Burrito did something, and it left him drained.

She gives Copper a little tisk tisk, grinning wildly. "I really thought you smarter than that. Thicker isn't the way to go, it's thinner that really helps." She says with a grin, summoning her blade that she had lost concentration on. she held it up between them and slowly rotated it, to the point where it completely disappeared from one eyeballs' sight, but not the other. "Mathematically, the thinner the blade, the sharper it's edge. What happens when the thickness of a blade equals zero?"

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

"Lovely," she mutters about the currently comatose Burrito. She keeps her distance, though, letting Tsuki do her thing.

She does grin a little bit at Shrike, though. "Couldn't tell you, but tend to concern myself with length, not girth, anyway. Though I suppose it makes sense. Katanas tend to be wicked sharp, but then, I've seen a broadsword cleave through a pig. They both get the job done." She looks thoughtful. "The key thing, I think, is going to be taking off the ends of the tentacles anyway. That's where the," she holds up her hand, making a grabby gesture with it, "suckers are. Without those, it'll hopefully be a little more impotent."

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

Shrike nods, starting to wonder if the thing was able to track Copper at all, or if it just moved really slowly. "Fair enough, but that has more to do with strength by that point, of which I have precious little. Should have seen me lug a supply crate up that ladder in there," She says, pointing a thumb back at the building behind them. "It was almost comical."

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

"I wish I would have been here instead of off playing with our new friends. At least that managed to give us a head's up on them." She looks back to the bunker. "You going to be able to get that bird to fly? I wasn't liking what I was hearing from the wraith I found on their plans for him."

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

Shrike nods. "Yeah, she can fly now, though not nearly far enough as is to make it all the way to orbit. There's also the problem of space, it's only a single-ship, and not enough cargo space to fit us all even. I'm thinking of it towing something of a cargo bullet. Stick everyone inside, and I'll fly her in close enough to launch it at the ship. Shaped charge on the nose, you guys pour out into the ship, go save him while I find another way in. Best plan I can think of, and I'm sure the ship will be up for it once I get her repaired."

"Tobias had nearly all the parts we need spared in those containers, we just need to fabricate a new sensor array, the replacement melted even through the shielded crate. He had a few other surprises I wasn't expecting to find, like that AI in the ship itself. Tobias is, was a raunchy bastard, you know that?" She says, smiling almost as if it was some kind of inside joke.

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

"That might be possible, might not. I think these guys are big on shields. I remember the battle over our forums, watching things kinda...ripple off the Hive. If it'll get through something like that, great. Otherwise, might want to err on the side of caution." Still, she does smile as she listens to Shrike talk about her friend. "Always good when the ones we have to leave behind leave us a little something behind, too." She chuckles. "And if he was raunchy, he would have fit right in."

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

"Shields will be a problem, but I think I have the firepower to punch a hole through it. I know she can dodge the hive ship's blasts, even if she's carrying a big load like that, the only thing I'm worried about are those other fighters. They're probably just as fast, and I'm a little out of practice, I haven't been near a Falcon in about six or seven years." Shrike said, running her plan over again in her mind. "The AI should help a lot. from what I can tell, She's tied in to every system, direct control and everything. I could probably even let her pilot the ship, but I really don't want to trust that to her just yet, she seems damaged a little, or maybe she was just programmed to seem that way, I'm not sure."

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

"Yeah, I was watching those things. They look like they come in hard and fast and they have no problems crashing the damn things, either." That last part is a bit muttered. "Well, I can understand about that. AI can be good, but there's times it can't compensate for gut instinct or x-factors. Especially if you said...she's?...damaged? Last thing you want is a Space Odyessy going on." She chuckles.

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

Shrike chuckles a bit. "Yeah, that would be bad. And yes, it's a 'she'. Remember when I said Tobias was a raunchy bastard? He made the AI a lewd copy of myself, even installed a small holoprojector so it could have an avatar of myself in lingerie. I was the only woman in the mercenary group, and I was just an honourary member when I left. I swear, if he was still standing, I'd strangle the man, but all I can really do is laugh it up I guess." She says, smiling ironically.

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

"Well, raunchy or not, he must have thought pretty highly of you. So long as you're not talking to yourself in a phone sex voice, I suppose it's allright," she chuckles softly. "And trust me, I know what it's like to be part of the boy's club." She looks like she might want to say more, but is obviously stopping herself, probably not wanting to overstep something. She changes the subject, sort of. "I'd either throttle him for that or for however he got the specs for the hologram. Unless he has a vivid imagination."

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

"Easily enough, I guess. I never had lingerie while i was there, but I was pretty much living at his house, it would have been easy enough to get a 3d scan in the shower or something, and add the raunchy clothes after. So throttle him twice, maybe?" She says, chuckling. She let the subject change go, it was hard enough to pass out her own past like this, she didn't feel the need to pry.

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

Grave arrived at the scene together with Tsuki, however he left the chopper without saying a word as soon as they landed. He didn't speak when they were flying towards the ruined forum either. It seemed that he was thinking about something the whole time, contemplating the destruction... Or perhaps making plans. When the warrior arrived at the scene of massacre, he began to walk towards the place where the fighters crashed. Altough he certainly couldn't arrive in time to witness the incident with the tentacle monster and had no idea what kind of beast lurked in this place, he was on guard. Grave had a really bad feeling.

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

"Thank you," Tsuki replied simply to the pilot.

She hurried off to wherever it was she was supposed to be going, a bunker of some sort? Well she arrived and went inside.

(Assume whatever she was supposed to be doing... that she's doing now? Since I have NO IDEA what's going on! tl;dr some of it....)

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

"Depends. He the type that'd like that?" She grins a little bit, perhaps trying to help lighten the mood a little and keep the conversation going so they have something else to concentrate on outside of the thought of evil tentacle critters running around. Still, knowing people don't like to talk, she tries to keep from prying too much.

((Tsuki, I think Shrike was going to snag you to help with the fighter but Burrito is in dire need of repair, and I think he wanted you to look at him, which is what we *points at self and Shrike* have been assuming you've been doing. And you guys show up and I need to get to bed *siiiighs* Not fair.))

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

((Large building, apparently hanger, all welded shut with a door cut out after. Burrito standing outside, broken or something, who you were fixing while AFK. Inside of building smells of cooked human flash, consists of main floor and landing pad, cargo containers about body-sized spread around. Landing pad has ship now floating about two feet off ground and a single container, as well as cooked body about a half dozen yards away, and is accessible via ladder. figure out what you wanna do, ship needs fixing, but so does Burrito.))

Shrike watched as Tsuki went inside the building, giving her a tap before she went in. "Hold your nose, the place reeks." She says sadly, before turning to Copper again. "Probably. He tried hitting on me for a while, gave up eventually, but he was always talking like we were like that. Everyone knew we weren't, so I gave up trying to fix it, but it got on my nerves." She said, laughing. "Man could fly though, taught me everything I know, which is hopefully enough to get Siphon back, we'll see."

Tsuki looked to Shrike, confused, before the 'aroma' assailed her nose. She coughed a few times, before bringing a hand to her mouth and nose. "Ugh...."

A look about, and a quick assessment. She loaded up a small, bug-like drone that had all the lovely little tools it'd need to help fix up Burrito, while she went to the ship to see what had to be done for that.

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

Most of the internal wiring was completely melted away, though the core systems looked to have been protected. some work has been done to it already, though the wiring inside the undercarriage is a real bad job, looks like whoever did that had little idea of what they were doing. Walking by the crates, You'd notice almost everything you'd need in terms of replacement parts, with the exception of a sensor array, which you'd assume was delicate enough to have melted in the crate as well. Also, there's a six-inch tall hologram of Shrike in lingerie in the cockpit, appearing as if to look around for someone, and looking over to a monitor every once in a while.

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

"Oooh, one of those guys. Okay, I can see where the lingerie comes in then. Wishful thinking." She chuckles. "Here's to hoping," she says of Shrike's piloting skills. Her attention gets momentarily distracted by Tsuki's drone and she lets out a soft chuckle. "Looks like you've got help. I'll help keep an eye out for unfriendlies, but this time I'm sticking a little closer to home."

((Translation: Copper needs to get to bed this time. My charrie'll divulge all she knows about the critters, except needing info from the Wraith Queen or Commander. She's saving that for the rescue mission. And Siphon knows, relatively, how to run me in a fight, so if things kick up while I'm at work tonight, don't worry too much about me.))

Re: TP forums: Aftermath

"Lovely..." Tsuki groaned at the job ahead. This wasn't going to be fun. As she surveyed the cockpit, she blinked at the hologram. "...why?" she asked no one in particular.

After a moment of confusion about the hologram, she went to the computer to bring up the schematics of the ship. Armed with the information, she loaded a couple more drones to help her with the fixing up of the ship, before she got to work with all of the wiring.
