ACT [Umai Neko] Fighting Girl Sakura-R (RJ183230)

Re: Fighting Girl Sakura-R

Agreed, anyone still have that trial?

The uncensored demo is still available on his blog, just go back a few posts.

ALSO i found a great surprise in the Gallery after doing that...
the 7th, 8th and 9th GameOver scene is totally uncensored.

My Guess is that the game's creator wanted to use those scenes on the demo, and put the uncensored gmspr files in the demo, but never used them and he forgot that he added them in the demo folder and censor it...

It's not that he wanted to use it, the 7-9th scenes were in the demo. It just didn't show up in the gallery page for some reason and you had to manually lose to the lizards to see it. So replacing the files pretty much just lets you view the demo scenes uncensored without having to switch between versions.

Ohh i see... well at least now by replacing the files no need to lose to the lizards and just go to the gallery.

Re: Fighting Girl Sakura-R

I used to think like that before figuring out my own strategy. Well, here are everyone's tips to beat stage 6:

Or you could use my strategy, but try these first.

Ye, after i figured out that the space attack took hp to activate and it wasn't a 1 per stage thing like i thought, it got extremely easy. Also noticed that it is possible to counter them effectively, just gotta be really quick to spin jump the dogs when they come from behind. Either way props to the developer for making such an amazing game, last time i enjoyed an h-game this much was when the Shinobi Girl demo came out years ago.

From sounds of it you never played the other 2 games. Well....Fighting Girl Sakura is ignorable if you play this one, but you really should play Fighting Girl Mai. It'll be a little weird going to an early game that has less mechanics but it's definitely worth it.

I did play Mei, it's actually one of the few games that i kept after finishing it. Problem with it is that the number of enemies isn't that high, which means not a whole lot of variety, which is kinda important to me. Sakura-R is like Mei on steroids, way more enemies, each of them with 3 slightly different animations, and more animated cg's (i think there's more, can't remember tho). Would've been nice to have more freedom on how she wears, kinda like Witch Girl, but whatever.

Oh so you did play Mei? Yeah, gotta agree that after playing this that Mei seems lackluster. But when it first came out, I thought it was pretty damn amazing. Now I see all the things they could have added to the game to make it better.

It did have two things I like over the two Sakuras. And that's text and a ending. But who knows, dev might start working on a Mei-R after this.

@echidna
DAMNIT!!! Totally forgot about that game!! Pretty sure I haven't even played it after downloading.....at least, I think I downloaded it.....

Re: Fighting Girl Sakura-R

Can anyone please upload spr_thief_x03.gmspr for me? That file is somehow corrupted from the .rar via mega and my net is too slow to redownload 2gb file again ; ; (the file is in image folder)

Edit : nvm i keep getting errors ingame so really need to redl

Ye lol, i remember this game. Especially i remember how i couldn't even open it because of the errors it gave me. Spent a lot of time trying to make it work by reading tutorials 'n stuff but couldn't do it. It's a shame because i love high quality h-side-scrolling games, but after a while i had to give up on that one lol.

Re: Fighting Girl Sakura-R

Decided to try out a glass-cannon build to see if I could finish all 12 stages in one sitting.

It worked, but the last boss has to be beaten using potions + space bar. Other than that anyone can do the job in about 2 hours.
No buying of potions and no investment of points until a stage is cleared. No game-overs (immediately continue when seeing the game-over prompt).

Trouble spots:

Levels 6 and 9: One mistake and it's rape time. Stay aggressive on the counter.

Stage 10: The cats can't be countered without risk. Tornado kicks and the space bar attack are everyone's friend. Jumping to avoid the cats is a surprisingly useful and cheap escape.

I'm sure someone can get lower strength and dexterity than I can and still beat the game without losing too many times per stage.

A pure perfect one with zero defeats using only base health and mana could be a decent challenge to take on.

Edit: 88 strength 88 Dex base health and mana. Last boss beaten with potions and space-bar. Need to perfect my strategy against the mutants to bring the level and stats down further.

Levels 6 and 9: I found out that jump attacks actually staggers the orcs but I highly recommend not using them as you'll be a sitting duck for the lizards. I personally just dashed through them before they attack, turned around and then tornado kick. This keep me away from his attacks, hit the lizard if he was too close, and made it so I didn't get the attention of the other orcs so I kept it 1 on 1.

Level 10: I had bad luck with that, I would jump over one just to be rammed by another. So I started dashing through them until they were all on one side and then dash+tornado+down kick. And got through surprisingly easy. Though...you go through mp like crazy....

Re: Fighting Girl Sakura-R

Everyone can beat the game with whatever strategy they like once they get enough of a health and MP buffer. The challenge is pulling everything off WITHOUT investing in HP and MP upgrades and without buying potions.

Although this game is the easiest of the 3 by the same creator, doing the glass-cannon build and going for a perfect run through all 12 stages is highly improbable unless players are used to the timings.

Geez, it's stuff like this that really bothers me, even more than weird balance decisions.

Hmm, that sounds interesting. With the tactic I use, it'll pretty much be a single hit fight if I don't correctly time when I dash. On the other hand, if I can't put points into HP and MP.....then I can instead focus on attack power and dodging. I'll just have to be mindful of my current mp and speed of my mp regen and outside of bosses shouldn't be hard at all.

I'll have to give this a try.

Yeah... I dunno, that was annoying but the balance really gets me lol. Making the normal coin drop amount not really improve on higher stages, so you end up farming those large orc stages if you want to level up. Also not a fan of the avoid stat/mechanic. At low levels it's useless, then suddenly you're invincible. Feels like it takes the player skill out of the game. That and the spacebar spam.

Makes me wonder if the devs have ever even played the type of games they're making before. I mean, at least props for being a decent action game and not an rpg maker game I suppose, art and animation was pretty good too. The stat/potion/heart drop system though...ugh. Why even add rpg elements if you're just going to quarter ass them? I'm guessing their older games are similar, so I'm worried that kind of stuff won't ever improve.

The old games have similar style but it's slowly improving. In the previous game, there weren't any block or special attacks. Some devs just prioritize h-content over gameplay. I assume Umai Neko is just one person. If he's way better at animating than designing a game, he'd probably rather draw up some good h-content and then just make the gameplay bearable. I'm guessing the next game he's going to follow the same formula again and make Fighting Girl Mei-R with slightly improved gameplay. Since he can't just remake FGS a 3rd time, he will probably have to start making something new.

Re: Fighting Girl Sakura-R

Link expired because Mega, either way here it is again boys.

Word of advice,,, put your link in notepad and share it in the forum,,, i think that will keep it safe for a long time,,,

Don't get me wrong, the balance is awful. But making it so enemies only drop some money after a couple seconds means you would have to stop and wait for it every time, or go back for it. Nothing makes me stop playing a game as fast as feeling like it's intentionally wasting my time for no reason.
