Would you kill a puppy for $1,000,000?

Re: Would you kill a puppy for $1,000,000?

In all but the most remote community's, truely killing for food in the traditional sense doesn't exist any more. If you used the $1,000,000 to buy food, you could argue that you would never need to hunt again. Of course you have to consider farming, which is killing for food mass production style. Even then, many vegetarians would argue there is no need for meat based foods any more. The farmers that keep the livestock aren't actually killing for food either, as they do it for the money. Survival in a developed country means money. That said, survival is more than possible without the $1,000,000.

I think I will have to say yes. I've shot rats purely because they "invaded my territory", and I've eaten pigs and cows purely because I like the taste. As low as it might make me feel to do so, giving a puppy special treatment on account of cuteness and an imagined sense of morality would seem hypocritical. Why should the dog get a better deal than the rats.

I wouldn't jump at the idea, but I would see little sense in letting the life altering opportunity pass.

Re: Would you kill a puppy for $1,000,000?

That's actually more what I was trying to say, though I couldn't quite figure how to say it.

Re: Would you kill a puppy for $1,000,000?

You need food for survival, not money.

I'd like to point out that while money is not directly needed for survival in our society, it is the means by which we get everything. Food, shelter, clothing, even the most basic tools for making your own food and shelter cost money. The only survival thing easily and freely obtainable is water, and you have to wait for rain to make sure it's pure. Most of us (Humanity, not the forum, I don't know about those numbers) lack the proper skill set for wilderness survival. Add to this to incidentals like medical care, which even well trained survivalists would have difficulty making from scraps in the wild. So while yes, technically you don't need money, you really do still.

And I posit that I did say I'd attempt to cook and eat it, so the point is moot.

Re: Would you kill a puppy for $1,000,000?

....Puppy eh?
I liked dogs, is it potty trained?
I think I will take the dog after shooting the guy and stealing the money...
or I would just walk away, life's hard, but not hard enough that I would want to kill a life for no reason. If I could never eat meat again, I'd be fine with it, gimme potatos, add some gravy, and I will live off that my whole entire life. I am eating beef and pork and chicken, etc. But I don't approve of it, I am a selfish man, but that doesn't mean I have no limits to how selfish I am. If you say put a hole in some jackass's head with a sniper and you will gimme a million dollars, I'd do it, but not because of the money, because I am doing socity some good. Oh wait, we can just put him in jail... oh well.
Puppies > Human scum.

Re: Would you kill a puppy for $1,000,000?

Agreed, puppy > human scum
And besides, the puppy would probably make a better companion than some rich prick getting people to kill dogs for money.

Why would you want to kill such a small puppy anyway? It's got no meat on it, an' wouldn't make for good eats.

Re: Would you kill a puppy for $1,000,000?

I know it wouldn't make good eats, but I don't want to waste a puppy for the sake of wasting it either. Maybe I could make a hat...

Actually, that's an awful idea. But I would like to have a use for the pooch.

Re: Would you kill a puppy for $1,000,000?

If I was a sick bastard, I'd kill the dog, skin it, then make a small door step rug with it.

Re: Would you kill a puppy for $1,000,000?

Its unfortunate, but I've already had to kill a dog, who was little more than a puppy, because of my job. Shotgun to the head, not fun cause I love dogs so much.

Still, I won't do it for a million, for reasons I stated above, and also because, the situation just seems to get some rich bastard off on watching things die.

The more I think about it, the less it seems I would do it. I can't find a reason, I can't find a use for the puppy, as it's too small.

Though I have to question those of you who put the life of a puppy above that of a human. Granted, it was specifically human scum, but you know literally nothing about the puppy. He could be the meanest, biteingest dog this side of cujo, and you're going to let him go on account of he's cute? This is a blind situation, You know nothing about the animal outside it's appearance. You know the handgun is tops, so if the shooter is competent it shouldn't hurt. What happens if you don't shoot it?
I guess the idea here is that there's not enough information. All we have is a look, and the word of nobody that we'll get a million if we do it. And since it's hypothetical, many of us can't really know the answer unless the question were to come up.

Re: Would you kill a puppy for $1,000,000?

Yup, but it's a dog. Most dogs don't come out as 'evil' when they are pups, so train it well, and it will be your friend. Also.............................................................What made you kill the dog sin? No need to tell if you don't wanna but... curiousity.
And... we are not saving it cause it's cute, we like you just have no reason to kill the dog. Cause like Sin already stated, there are situations we can't control.
Vote on my story please.

Re: Would you kill a puppy for $1,000,000?

Well, I was ordered to by my superiors. We didn't know if the dog had any diseases, and was running about the camp. So, I had to put him down.

Re: Would you kill a puppy for $1,000,000?

You think the dog could be evil? Look at it. It's way to young to have any real leanings, it's pretty much a blank slate. While we KNOW that the rich dude is at least mostly evil.

Re: Would you kill a puppy for $1,000,000?

I just don't have the heart (or lack of one) to do it. Besides karma or something would probably come back to bite me in the ass.

Re: Would you kill a puppy for $1,000,000?

I would not. Money isn't that important, sure it helps get one through life, but at the expense of another creature's life, no not good enough. Sure, I've killed people and dogs (among other animals) before, but they threatened my survival, or I had to because of my job, or I wanted it for the food. But to kill something just for some money? No, I wouldn't.

What's the difference between killing something for your job and killing something for money?

Re: Would you kill a puppy for $1,000,000?

My job isn't doing it for my own personal gains wheras doing it for money is doing it for my own personal gains. Plus Hooker my job is a little more fucked up than most people's.

Next time you get hit in the face with the severed hand of someone who you were just chatting with, you can judge me.

Re: Would you kill a puppy for $1,000,000?

Puppy's a dog.
Dogs aren't people, so it doesn't affect me morally to shoot it again and again and again.

I'd kill the dog and feel no guilt.

Re: Would you kill a puppy for $1,000,000?

So ideology is a perfectly good reason to kill somebody. Hey, if not for that, there would have been a lot less wars, which would be bad for...the industry? Well, that's okay, then.

Wait, that seriously happened?

Re: Would you kill a puppy for $1,000,000?

Well, at least it was just a severed hand. God knows what other severed body parts could hit you.
