I'm surprised people even care about sound. I've muted every single RPG Maker game I've played after 5 minutes. The menu selection beeps and combat noises are so burned into my brain that I just can't tolerate them anymore. That little "kchkchkch" noise when you move to a different area..oh god make it stop. The stock noises are just so grating.

lol I wouldn't do that to any game really. But the kchkchkch sound lol sometimes helped us before to find entrances.
lol just think about it. At least once it did helped you!

Still, it would be nice to hear new sound transitions from an RPGMaker game, especially one as visually appealing as this game.

I found out about this game a few months ago, so luckily I haven't had to wait as long as some of the people here, heh. Really looking forward to seeing how this is going to turn out, as things are looking very promising so far!

And Yummy is using assets that didn't exist prior to him starting. I have seen RPG Makers games using mainly the pre-packaged assets, taking 2 - 3 years to make, and still be very bad.

Every dev, every company use assets, ready classes etc.

I found out about this game a few months ago, so luckily I haven't had to wait as long as some of the people here, heh. Really looking forward to seeing how this is going to turn out, as things are looking very promising so far!

Well, hi there smartass! My point is that YT is using assets that didn't come pre-packaged, including some that "didn't exist" before he started. the other part of my point is that some dev will mainly/only use the pre-packaged stuff and fail to make a good game.

And by pre-packaged stuff, I mean the things that come bundled in when one buy RPG Makers dev kits.

even the non prepackaged available stuff is limited, unless you know someone who has already done the code for something or has it, chances are most of the time spent in development of a game especially with unique features is waiting on a coder or coding it yourself, and then many many repeated bug fixes.

it's sad that some scripts are considered proprietary by some devs but in all honesty I can't blame them because it allows the devs to be unique in a rather flooded market. that being said there's a lot of scripts available for free I think the most popular for VXACE stuff is the Yanfly scripts but meh who knows.

Recent update from Yummy in his Patreon seems like his fever came back over the weekend and he's going to the doctor to get himself checked. Hope he gets better soon.

Thanks for keeping people up-to-date. Went to the doctor yesterday, said it was a virus, not bacterial. No antibiotics needed and I should be better in a few days. Feeling much better today, and have been getting some work done. I'm sure I'll be 100% by the end of this week.

This is correct, I do use some of the default assets. I don't think anyone ever said otherwise. That being said, in looking at the database, animations and sounds are about the only area I use default assets.

I don't use any pre-created actors, classes, skills, items, weapons, armors, enemies, troops, states or tilesets.

I've rewritten the battle system, and use my own formula and setup. All the weapons, armor, skills and states are set to fit within this setup.

I do use a lot of assets available for free or purchase in RPG Maker communities--especially tilesets, icons, sprites and scripts. All will be credited accordingly, and are clearly labeled in the scripts.

So, while we all use some default assets, I'd argue that I use fewer than most. We'll see how much I ultimately end up changing in the sound arena. I'm a nitpicky bastard, so it may be a decent amount.

There's been a newer one set used lately, looks better but any decent sized town slow my computer wayyyyy down. I'll try thinking of a game that uses it...

There are waay too much Game developers that had to stop working on their Games because of health problems = /

So I want you to take care of yourself and stay healthy ^_^ Don´t rush things just to Upload the Game sooner :)

If you have the possibility to upload it later but better then do so ;)

We want to see you and your Games longer than just until the end of Aylia's Story

Even now I am intriged to know what awesome Game you will create after Aylia´s Story
(yes I know you probably not even thought about your next project but STILL as awesome as Aylia´s Story already seems the Game after that surely will be as Awesome as well) :D

Let's get this thread back on topic shall we? Any patreons here with news of any updates?

Most recent posts were just related to YT Gaming. I brought on someone to help keep development on track (has experience in managing game development) and to help me organize Patreon stuff (He will tag posts, keep track of survey results and verify they are included in the game, setup email lists, etc.). I've been working with him already for about 4 weeks now, and I believe it will be a worthwhile change. Doubt you'll hear much more about it, I just thought I should let my patrons know.

As for the game, I'm back to working on it. I actually have RPG Maker open right now and am working on getting a multi-stage event working as intended. I thought I had it figured out, but it is giving me problems again.
