ACT Enty Fantia [Zell23] 『シロノヤカタ』/ Shiro no Yakata

Redownloaded/updated all DirectX 64bit and all Microsoft Visual C++ from official sources and.... unfortunately did not fix the problem! Thanks for leading me in the right direction guys. I'll still try to fix the problem and I'll try to update if I do.

You should try installing the x86 then the x64 versions of all of them (assuming you have a 64bit system, which I'd be shocked if you didn't). Also try restarting your computer. Also try uninstalling them all and reinstalling. The DLL it's complaining about is contained in the VC++ redistributable, so your computer is some kind of fucked if installing the VCR doesn't give you the VCR dll. Again, make sure you install the correct version! If it says you're missing MSVCR100, that's version 10. If it's complaining about MSVCR110, that's version 11. Also try using locale emulator, as this is a Japanese developed game.

I'm actually looking forward to this one, helps that his super-deformed art style prevents me from being jumpscared (I hate jumpscares)
That being said, I thought his developing speed was pretty fast in FOB; any lookout on when we'll be getting a release?

Downloading the x86 versions was the solution! The answer was bound to be something right in my face. My narrow minded thought process was - oh 64bit system? obviously download x64 versions only. Thanks for everything. I'm gonna keep this in mind for future problems that may come up lol.

Putting my Fantia support on hold. Honestly, not too happy about the quality and content provided here. Will watch closely, but for now, my support is cut off.

How curious. Care to elaborate, if you could?
Unfortunately, like many others, some creators are happy with just adding one mediocre animation per month. Now unless he is doing more than that and choosing to reveal maybe one animation a month, I just find it too slow and honestly too expensive. In a sense, I am paying 5 bucks for one zell animation a month? It just doesn't work for me. The marionettes were a big miss. This prisoner animation was disappointing, the last good animation I remember is the flying gals with huge boobs and no faces. Yet nothing in this game so far compares to the ??? monster in FOBS, shadowy appearance with a tubed head, and massive breasts.

TL;DR: I'm not cool with paying five bucks for meh animations every month. Better ways to spend it.

Yeah, I feel I'm obligated to respond to that.

I mean I love the concept of the game but its development is so damn stagnant. Getting drip fed the animations also defeats the purpose of a horror game I feel like.
Also yeah, those mannequins sucked. I like all the other girls but the characters from Fobs still do it better I feel.

I disagree. Gameplay and tone in SNY are much better for that horror theme. The music especially.

Yeah the reason all of the ??? enemies have such an impact is because they're all a lot creepier than the enemies around them. Sure the other mansion enemies can be unsettling, but ???1 invokes an actual terror that the others didn't because you can't fight it. Same with ???2 in the catacombs. Now Zell is trying to make a whole game based on that. We could be judging a possible masterpiece by it's slow early-access.

On the flip side is that what made those moments in FOBS was that they were rare. Having a whole game based on that could get stale if not handled correctly. I could understand if he's having trouble trying to shift from developing a pretty fast paced platformer to a slower horror-survival game.

@ThatWeirdGuyWithaWeirdHat Agreed. The mood whiplash in FOBS threw me for quite a loop, because the rest of the game is mostly unassuming, if a bit unsettling here and there (like the Mannequin, Red Ghost, and Roach Swarms). But ??? in the mansion is a really creepy encounter, especially if you get the puzzle bit wrong. The rest of the game, though, is a lighthearted sex adventure.
Shiro no Yakata has haunting setpieces, and that works in its favor since you play as a fairly helpless boy this time: no jumps, no attacks, no life bar. The moody atmosphere plays up for nothing as of yet due to being more of a showcase and barely a game, but the intro part alone carries a lot of promise.
If zell wants to keep going like that, he needs some clever setups and options for encounters, though. Simply running and hiding will get old fast, so being able to interact with the environment some more could do the trick, especially if you have to investigate WHILE hiding from threats.

Folks, I am by no means saying that SNY is bad. I am just personally unhappy, with the aforementioned slow early access. I'm actually at a point where I rather wait blindly, and feel a full experience. Instead of getting a "to be continued" taste of what's to come.

Running away from shadowy ??? as the screen widens with smokey fog, and if you run she continues to get closer faster still. mmmm

@Papanomics Don't worry, nobody assumed you did. I just barged in on the conversation and things moved into a different direction. You do you, nobody's gonna haunt you for that.

Do not ask for a game for ANY reason. Asking for or alluding to links to game downloads is prohibited. Failure to follow this rule will result in an immediate 1 week ban.
Some1 have the last version of Shiro no yakata?

Twitter post seems to show MC being made transparent during scenes, and changing the size of the internal animations to a smaller or larger size. Minimal, but progress, nonetheless.

Also if anyone would be able to translate anything from the intro I'd love to see it. ReiPatcher unfortunately doesn't work for this engine.

I just found out about this game and if you want I could go ahead and translate it for you if still needed.

I feel like by translating the game people want ingame translations and it not to be just typed here. If you can somehow make the text ingame in english youd be a champ

PixelMaker MV is still a new program. Unlike RPG Maker there are no decompilation or translation tools.

New update's out. Seems Version B's had the shroom monster added as well as the bird monster in version A.

Version B? Am I missing something, or are you on the wrong thread? Cause that sounds an awful lot like FOBS...

This game has also been divided into versions A and B, though in this case it's not due to running out of space for new characters, but rather because version B runs on an entirely different engine, and it's looking like it will eventually replace version A and become the sole version.
