Has anyone else had the golden temple bug out on them? I go in and fall down the trap door, and then I spawn in front of Kuyou, now sans cloths. She can be talked with, but is also an enemy and can be attacked (though not killed) and damaged me when I touch her (which makes talking with her a pain to manage). If I do manage to talk to her, I start a conversation, but then the conversation bugs out part way through, the text boxes go away, and the game stops accepting any input.

Reloading and walking to the left instead of talking to her, I found other enemies I could attack. ... Did I really fuck up the game and just spawn directly in the boss room of the golden temple level? Because that is impressive levels of bugginess if so. How the heck would I do that?

Oh, and before anyone asks, I did download the latest version 1.4 and said replace all to my older version. The save started in version 1.2 before I updated to 1.3 and then 1.4, so there is a chance something got fucked up with my save before I changed versions I suppose. Anyone got any ideas?
Have the same issue here, started the game on 1.3. Have tried multiple ways to change what happens, but I think the game state is already corrupted on a save I have right out the temple door. If you just ignore Kuyou and continue to the left you can continue the game and finish it, but it skips whatever happens that gets you bound. I'll try a very hard run next, hopefully I don't trigger it next time...
I haven't encountered this bug myself, but it sounds like the known issue listed at the bottom of the developer's
Google Translate said:
The issue of the event not progressing at Kin'eiji Temple and the issue of not being able to proceed if you talk to Kuyo after falling through the floor have been resolved in version 1.4, but here is the data saved just before the event at Kin'eiji Temple. There is a possibility that the flag adjustment may not be reflected properly.
In that case, we apologize for the inconvenience, but please right-click the savedata that matches the save slot number you are using in "ハチナ怪異譚_Data" in the ハチナ怪異譚 game folder and open it in Notepad.
Example) Save slot 1 -> savedata1
Please check the "firstVisitKanaeTemple":true part in this text and replace "true" with "false".
Normally it will be on the 3rd line from the top, around the 40th character from the left.
Example) "firstVisitKanaeTemple":true -> "firstVisitKanaeTemple":false
that, start the game and once you go to the map outside Koneiji Temple, it will be reflected normally.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.
Kin'eiji, Koneiji, or Kanae Temple are all different ways to read the name of the Golden Temple in Japanese.

Setting firstVisitKanaeTemple to false solved it for me, thanks :)

so we probably need to wait some more years for the next game *sigh*.
They said their next game is going to only have event CG scenes. Probably another RPG Maker game this time around and not going to be a sequel.

As long as it's a CG game on the level of Undercrust, that's alright with me. Maybe the lack of graphical complexity will let them put more effort into the H-states being more involved. This one was definitely a bit of a downgrade in that department.

Where did he mentioned that? Using MTL his next game is probably made in unity again, which isn't really known for RPGs

I mean it does, they mostly suck though. I'm surprised he's sticking with Unity, I guess the dev plans to skirt or pay the Unity Tax come next year. Poor indie devs, they have to pay insane self employ taxes and now this...

After spending 7 hours playing both the normal & hard mode, unlocking all secrets items and events in Hachina, I have to stop coping and admitted that this is by far THE MOST DISAPPOINTING H game comparing to predecessor games that Hakkaku team have released. I believe the main reasons the devs were way too focused on implementing new mechanics (leading to many in-game bugs that we've seen since Day 1 release) rather than the core values that made Mission Mermaiden one of the best H game existed (aka the diversity in H scenes, effects and bosses designs)
1. The effects and development on Hachina were pretty bad, given how it lacks the depths on and have very little impact on the gameplay, even almost non existance like some "bugs"
2. The lack of equipments and how little it impact to the gameplay made the diversity in playstyle become limited to the point being reliant too much on the new moves from story progression (I beat this game in hard mode w/full latex without any equipment at all)
3. The lack of enemies H scene while having too much H events is literally a crime. Like, the devs put way too much bugs related H scene, while and the hypnosis, latex and yuri ones were poorly fleshed out and a complete downgrade if I have to compare with Mission Mermaiden. Oh and did I mentioned the final H event having the much better latex suit and that being event exclusive? Yeah, a missed opportunity that Hakkaku didn't make it into an alternate equippable latex suit or being the final phase/full set of the equippable latex suit.
4. My god the boss fights in the game were utterly horrible. The "revamped" giant meat ball, Kinu (Moth girl) and Kuyou (Fox girl) boss fight felt like a joke as it felt like it was rushed and three of them had very limited moveset which made the fight a walk in a park and having only ONE H scene inthe first two bosses is also a crime. The only boss fights that I enjoyed is Chouen boss fight which was pretty good (until you realize you could spam the jump + attack downward aka X + Z + which could easily demolished Chouen without worrying too much on the bells)

[Oh and did I mentioned that the final boss mechanic felt like another joke when the amount of time that the boss spam on the binding move is insanely ridiculous and the 2nd phase you literally have to craft as much medicines as possible then spam the ultimate buttion (default button is C ) until it die. ]

However, the story in Hachina is a slight step up to Mission Mermaiden in terms of Hachina and other characters development.

Overall, Hachina is not a bad game, it's just.....disappointing. Too disappointing when you played Mission Mermaiden before and see how the devs have failed to meet everyone expectation when they overhyped this game with dev logs that they've made for more than a year on ci-en (actually I knew this game might not meet expectation when they gave us a sneak peak onto the gallery which immediately made me realized how little enemies are in Hachina compared to Mission Mermaiden) and Q&A on the blog. The fact that this game currently being more expensive than Mission Mermaiden is a huge slap in the face to me and others that actually bought this game.
I still hope that Hakkaku could give us new content update in this game rather than simply fixing bugs and call it a job well-done, but given how Mission Mermaiden doesn't have the content update treatment, hope on this game improvement content-wise is very fragile.

Hmm does it mean they didn ´t make enough money though it got a lot of sells at DL Site? What a pitty, I would love to see more dungeon crawler like games like from Ofuro works for example, to be serious most important are the H-Scenes and the main character imho and there are some good games without Unity engine.

I'm sure it's been said but I just want to give my take on this game.

Disappointment.

Status effects that do nothing but change appearance and force a game-over scene in a specific area.
CRAFTING (Because that's what hentai games were totally missing.)
Not a single face-fucking/blowjob scene, so the "Mouth" stat is only ever raised by that one doll, and maybe the sucker plants.

The game on a whole feels like they looked at mission mermaiden and went "but what if we gave it a STORY", as they enthusiastically jazz-handed,
seemingly forgetting they were making a hentai game.

Maybe it would've been alright even with the story elements and anemic enemy roster, but the game sucks. Moves that feel like you should've had them from the start
being unlocked through progression, cheap dialogues that give the illusion of choice but just give you a game over if you pick the obvious "evil/lustful" option, that god awful
section with the floating mind-control urns that can soft-lock you if you get caught roaming mindlessly toward one of them you can't reach, and the final boss?

You kill the final boss, with CRAFTING.. You CRAFT them to death. They can only take damage in their second form by "crafting" medicine, and "registering" it, which allows your
special attack to send them out as little projectiles. Though if you had no idea your special attack even did that (and why the fuck would you), you'd be like me, and spend half
an hour wailing on the boss waiting for some kind of "lowering guard to take a breather" vulnerability phase.

And hearing that they're going to make a CG only RPG Maker clone next really is the icing on the cake.. They started strong, phoned it in on the second one, and then realized they
could probably make just as much money cranking out the industry meta. Minimum effort, maximum profit.

Can't wait to see whatever dev is still left who makes good games degrade into making RPG Maker clones.. Who's money's on koonsoft threatening to pump one out?

I think they'll realise very quickly that making the exact same crap as everyone else will lose their fanbase outside of Japan. If not, I don't care because this is likely the end of my interest with them.

But yeah, I agree with some of your points. I feel like this game was horribly overhyped, and while it's still alright I think it's ultimately an short experience that somehow took nearly 2 years to put out. They appear to for some reason have also downgraded the first bosses' experience, those moving platforms have just gone now, so trying to attack it directly is an irritating slog because it'll keep grabbing the PC. Fucking bizarre stuff, that was one of the best presented bosses they put out, and without that stage element it becomes a button mashing fest just like all the other bosses were. The whole crafting to kill the final boss at the end thing is not a proper mechanic, it's just a silly extra step that takes you out of combat into the pause screen a bunch of times.

What else. I think the hypnosis segment was alright, but for the game being so focused around bugs as the main antagonists there's actually very few scenes relating to them, I don't count those tentacle things as insects, I count them as tentacle monsters. I feel like if I wanted to play the game for its bugs, I'd have gone with Mermaiden just because the scene with those slug things was so superior and... in general all the animations for that scene are finished. Some second-stage loops for the flying insects in Hachina just weren't done.

The engine wasn't specified, but the majority of event CG only games are either VNs or RPG Maker games... I'm just assuming.

I agree that I preferred the old mechanic with the platforms, but they replaced it with a different one rather than just removing it. Now, pink slime things spawn in the room and shoot a fireball at the boss when you destroy them.

Grapples still seem ludicrously easy to escape from and even on hard I haven't died once, is a mod about this a possibility?

I applied that 1.4 patch to v1.5 of the game gotten from f95, there's still a lot of untranslated stuff, is that how it's supposed to be? Sorry, I didn't dig too far back into the thread to check.

If I played the games blind I'd probably think Mermaiden was the sequel and not Hachina, and that's probably the feeling of disappointment that bothers me the most.

I am almost certain I am going to be in the minority on this one, but...

I enjoyed Undercrust more than I enjoyed Mermaiden. And don't get me wrong, I think Mermaiden was solidly in the "good" category, though it felt a bit shallow.

And I enjoyed Mermaiden a LOT more than I enjoyed Hachina. Plenty of people have voiced discontent with the game in this thread already, so I won't go into detail about what I didn't like, but it should suffice to say the game just didn't really grab my attention at any point. I ran through, beat it, looked over the H stuff, and just...didn't want to keep going. I wasn't even aware there were secrets in the game, nor did learning that they existed (by reading this thread) pique my interest in going to look for them.

So while I'm not super excited at the prospect of a CG only game, I feel another RPG maker game from this circle would catch my interest far easier than another Action game at this point.

I mean it would be an above average game if player don't know or played Mission Mermaiden before. But if they do, they would think that Hachina felt like a half-baked and buggy DLC of Mission Mermaiden rather than a seperate game. And I don't understand how they could fallen from grace this bad. Like, did the devs became obssessed with KFC fried chickens (hence their constant tweets on KFC foods) or sth that made their creativity gone downhill.
