Re: Mjorna

"It may be nothing to you, but it is something to me." Virgil says, reaching out his right arm and poking one of the more major injuries, most likely sending a sensation of slight pain to Hera "they must hurt by now. We need to treat them before something bad happens." he says, motioning for her to come back inside the church "I can treat your wounds as good as any other doctor. You have my word."

"A-AAH!" She yelled, stumbling back and falling on her ass. "Don't do that dammit!" she cursed, though followed the doctor. "Let's just say my journey was less then glamourous..."

Toya stays clear of the falling tree, though once it's down, he picks it up with similar ease as the last one, only this time he loads it onto the draft horse. "Ready to head back when you are!"

"Right, just lemme chain those together", Tork says as he undoes a chain from Pjotr's harness and wraps it around the trees several times before re-attaching it. "Now, let's head back to town and cut these to size. Later on I'd need you for something else. Got a roof to build", the badger explains as he mounts Pjotr.

Meda sighs. "To my tannery then." She said to herself softly and left the chapel to see Mister Swifty and a lion kin on her ass on the ground. "Er, what's going on here?" Said Meda baffled at seeing mister swifty reaching for the lion kin who had a cloth in her hand and the prior just standing there and looking sad.

Re: Mjorna

"...." Yulka sighed. There really weren't many around after the void, and the few there were around seemed to be all up to their own business. Since others were working, she might as well get herself to it. She returned to her cart, before she groaned. It would still be heavy and the ox was still sick. That, at the very least, she could remember.

Yulka grabbed the cart and led it and the animals a bit out of town, to a fresh patch of grass to at least graze. She'd need to scout for suitable farm land around here, meaning it wouldn't be right next to the village. Luckily, her animals were tethered, so wouldn't wander far, and the community was so small she doubted anyone would risk stealing something since it'd be so easy to track down. She hoped anyway.

With that, she set out about the town to look for suitable arable farm land. Of course, there was guess work involved, but she was decently experienced and knew some signs.

"It seems like the monkey likes poking the sick", Wulfric says absent-mindedly as he looks after Virgil and Hera.

The hill to the east borders the region on one side, the forest to the west on the other. The river in the north only makes the situation more dire. However, maybe she could find enough space for a field between the road from the south and the forest?

Toya nods and trots back to Mjorna next to the horse, helping unload him once they had arrived, taking his saw and starting to remove the branches from the logs almost immediately.

"Thanks. Sarem used to help me, but he's building the house right now." Tork ties down Pjotr and steps inside his own cabin to grab a saw of his own. Both men work side by side for a bit, concentrating on the task at hand.

"AHA! So the expert does use a saw!" Toya taunts and chuckles as he removes branch after branch from the logs, humming a tune to himself and smiling as he does.

"Well yeah. But not to cut down a gods damned beech", Tork says with a little grin while his eyes remain on his hands. He hasn't lost a limb yet, and he'll be damned if he does so now.

"Just depends on your preferences I suppose." He admits, more branches tumbling to the ground, which he moved out of the way with his tail and put them into a neat pile off to the side.

Re: Mjorna

Yulka stopped at the southern side of town. It was the only place close-ish to town that had anywhere near enough space that was flat. The next best place would after this would probably be the forest to the west, since that s oil was practically guaranteed to be fertile. However, that would take so much work to clearcut enough land. The last possibility would have been the east on the hills. It'd take less work to construct terraces, but hill-side soil wasn't the most fertile since the fertile soil would overtime erode downhill to the floor below. In the river to the north was obviously out of the question and those ruins beyond it also didn't look too inviting.

Well, it appeared as though she would have some time trying out this patch between the road and the forest. She'd find out how much good soil there was when she started plowing. The bunny kin headed back to her cart and led it to the patch.

As Leon crested the hill and saw what lay ahead, he smiled, thinking, 'This may be the last bastion of humanity.' He pushed forward, heading towards the town that would probably be his home for the rest of his life.

Re: Mjorna

As Tork turns to drop some branches on the pile he notices Leon coming down the hill. "Well I'll be damned, there's gotta be a nest somewhere", he murmurs. "Where's Wulfric? Ah damn. . . Hey Toya, drop the saw. Looks like we'll have some greeting to do." He brushes some sawdust from his clothing and heads towards Leon, trying to look as friendly as possible.

Lenwe, who had been wondering aimlessly for a while, now sought out Prior Wulfric.
"So, uh, how do people go about settling here? Just build a house and live in it?"

"If you can build your own house, sure", Wulfric chuckles. "Tork used to build the huts by himself until Sarem came along. They could build a hut within less than a week - from scratch. But now. . . Now we'll need so much huts", he says with a worried face. "Of course you have to earn your living here. What are your skills?"

Re: Mjorna

Meda sighed and headed down the river a little away from the village to her tannery to see if some of the furs were dried. "Hi Ilph" Meda said to Ilphstra as she passed by the hut listening to Ilphstra's rhymatic work.

Ilphstra waved, and ignored the noises that meant newcomers for now.

"Skills? I can catch fish, and I'm a decent sailor. I'd say I'm good at woodwork too, but only if it's boats I'm building."
