Re: In today's news...

The last time we didn't pay attention to politics, we let our government get so fucked up that we sunk most of the world into an economic recession and spent seven years in a war that had little to nothing to do with 9/11. I think it's about time we got on the freaking stick about paying attention.

Otherwise some asshole will amend the constitution and elect Bush again.

Never did get the whole 'no more than 2 terms' thing. We don't have that rule and the longest someone's been in was 3.

It's an amendment now, but originally it was a precedent set by George Washington that all presidents followed until Roosevelt was in for FOUR terms (he died in the last one, probably why you thought it was three) and then they amended it.

the reason for this amendment is so that no dictator can legally take power and rule the country forever. if they did somehow manage it they would have to get that amendment removed, classic paranoia.

you can kinda get around it because its only 2 consecutive terms and some of the best presidents have had 3 terms or more.

I am terrible at conveying when I'm joking it seems. >.>

I wasn't saying I don't care about political stuff (I do quite a bit). I was just poking fun at how high our voter apathy is even with the republicans having spectacularly fucked us over.

For the record, I voted for Obama. And if I'd been 18 when Bush was running for either of his terms I would have voted against him. My apathy for anything beyond attempting to avoid a disaster like him stems mainly from the fact that 100% of politicians are not out for the good of their country, but for the good of themselves. I am pleased with how Obama is doing and I'll vote for him again when he runs in the next election, but I don't really care what happens either way, mostly because of how politicians are built, but also from the simple fact that the rest of my country voted Bush into office TWICE. How am I supposed to compete with stupidity like that? So yeah I'll vote in the Presidential elections but beyond that I don't even pay attention to what happens.

It personally intrigues me that of all the threads I made, this one is the biggest -3-

Troops out of Iraq... not sure where my opinion lies on that, but I'll go with that it could be a rather good thing. I don't know enough about the conflict to really voice anything.

However, it also means more troops for the conflict in Afghanistan. I still wish us Canadians weren't pulling out though. The situation is far from fixed and we shouldn't just pack up and leave it.

Well not EVERYONE is gone from Iraq: we've left behind 50,000 troops in Training and Infrastructure roles, to work on fixing up the country. They will be armed if attacked, so it won't be an easy thing to overrun them. They just won't be ordered out on missions.

Can't say I know anything much about the subject as a whole (in fact I'd never heard the term "cougar" used that way before today), but I did find the "it's all a myth!" claims there amusing, given that my 22 year old friend has currently been dating a 52 year old woman for a few months now.

I'm aware. It'll be the same thing when Canada pulls out of Afghanistan. Our OMLT, POMLT, PRT and so forth will still be in position. I'm fully aware of what combat troops means.

If Cougars are a myth, then I'm the queen of England and every man is born with a natural talent for finding any and every woman's g-spot.

Most WOMEN have trouble finding their G-spot, I can attest to that one truthfully and personally. It's not as simple as "curl your fingers and find the bundle of nerves", oooooooh no.

Re: In today's news...

Apparently a number of scientist have done studies that prove that the g-spot is a myth.

Or at least, if it's not, they can't find it.

Yeah, leave nerds to find a woman's g-spot. The results seem promising

I remember being linked to an article about that somewhere... it was probably here, I'm just too lazy to go find it >.<

But yeah, leaving it to scientists to find the g-spot doesn't seem. . . very. . . . .
Wait, how are they conducting these tests?
