Actually, yeah. There're so many people still playing there. But now I remember why I left that game: I rage SO HARD when I play it.

Remember that one Battlefield Heroes ad that mentioned the caffine-soaked swearing 8 year olds that play the shooter games for half the day? Yeah, CSS was the forfather of those guys. So of course it's a ragefest.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

Tomorrow I'm going to make the rounds in town looking for a retail job (horror, I know). One of my stops is going to be Gamestop (EB Games for some). I know they don't carry many PC games, but I was thinking about picking something new up while I was there. Any suggestions?

Tip to win CSS:
Put on some Stray Cats, only use Uzi or LMG, cackle madly as you run through the halls firing without a care or woe.

Para. Then charge. Just make sure you find cover for the freaking hour and a half it takes to reload the damn thing.

@OAMP - Find a nice classic collection? I managed to get King's Quest (like, all of them) for 20 bucks there at one time. Other than that, I got nothing. Only comp games I play are CS and L4D at this point.

Thank god I'm not the only one who says Para.

I got good at all the things that were stupid. M3 sniping since shotguns were broken. Pistol sniping, cuz I'm one broke ass bitch. Pinpoint grenade accuracy. And knife fighting absolute mastery. Too bad it's not 1.6 where you could get knife headshots, and I instantly won every knife fight ever. And yet anything with a scope and I'm completely retarded.

Hey hey! Someone else who's been a fan of the King's Quest games.

I did manage to find the Stronghold collection, the Police Quest collection, and Baldur's Gate 2 set somewhat recently however at EB. I've also seen the Fallout trilogy and Command & Conquer first decade sets sitting on the shelves there.

Well, I spent about 2 hours last night fighting with their website, trying to get it to tell me what they had at my local store as opposed to "we can have this at your local store within 24 hours!" Supposedly they have Dragon Age Ultimate (the first game, expansion, all 9 DLC, and 3 bonuses) for $50, which sounds like a pretty good idea. I'm going to look for that first I think.

I'd look into the steam price before buying retail. But then, this is me talking, so I'd probably find it, rage, see the instore price, rage, and buy it off amazon or something and have to wait 3 weeks to get something that didn't cost me ridiuclousness.

I never got to play them as a kid. I had an Apple, which was not a gaming computer. Now I have to fight with the graphics and the like to try and make it work on my current system, but it's better than nothing. The only ones I actually got to play were 5 (on the NES), 6 (on a friend's computer) and 7 (but it glitched near the end, dammit!) So I figure one of these days I'll begin at the beginning.

Cannot endorse dragon age enough but yeah, if you can get it cheaper on Steam, go for it.

My parents had King's Quest was I was little... I never got far but I loved watching my father work through the later titles and my mother through the earlier ones (Dad liked the point and click style, mum liked the text. So 4,5, and 6 always stood out for me)

Good old Games is actually selling the full King's Quest collection for like $5 if I recall correctly.

The point isn't getting it cheep. The point is if you buy something, potential employers are more likely to hire you. As it is, if you bought online from gamestop it was $40, and they gave me the discount anyway, so I did get it for $40. I also got an application for the spring, think it'll go pretty well.

Besides, if I got it off steam, I'd be downloading for about three days straight and tieing up all my bandwith. I can do that every once in awhile, but it gets old fast.

Wow, people over there are more likely to hire you if you buy something when you drop in a resume? What a warm and human recruiting process.

I'm used to getting told one of two things "Sorry, we don't accept applications by hand, you'll have to apply online" or "I'll pass this on to the person who does it". In neither situation does you buying something make even the slightest difference, the people behind the counter don't care enough to write on it "Oh, he bought something btw".
