Games Discussion Thread

Re: Games Discussion Thread

A first person perspective, sandbox, MULTIPLAYER zombie game that emphasizes the use of anything and everything as a weapon. It's like Left 4 Dead and Dead Rising combined and it's exactly what I've been waiting for.

Tis not often I say this, but I love that your zombie game obsessions mix with mine.

That was an amazing trailer. I... am at a loss for words.

...

a) awesome fucking trailer
b) FUCK YES! That's it, fuck yes. I've been waiting for this fucking game for like 5 fucking years. I thought it was cancelled, I haven't heard anything about it for so damn long, but here, before my eyes, a new trailer. A brand new trailer, not some obscure talks about multilayer damage models and getting to get the crap out of the undead, an actual announcement trailer that just is awesome.

5 Fucking years! Dark I love you for sharing this!

Damnit I'm excited.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

Well that was an incredible trailer. Ya know, I always used to say, not enough promotionals start with a closeup of a dead little girl.

And for some reason, the thought "Chris Evans is awesome" came to my mind when watching this. And after seeing Push, I can only imagine that girl as Dakota Fanning, and that makes me happier.

W-well...!

And also, five years? It's been in development for THAT long?

Re: Games Discussion Thread

Maybe not five, but it's been in development for a number of years. There's been money and producer issues. All I know is that I read about it before going overseas (so about 3 years ago) and I got really excited, but then haven't heard anything new.

But now it seems things are sorted out and its finally getting pushed forward.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

Got Venetica yesterday, haven't played much yet, but looks interesting.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

Now that I think about it, I've heard the name someplace before. Either way, that trailer is still a work of art.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

I got the new Marvel vs Capcom today, and I proceeded to play it for about four hours straight. I like Amaterasu and I want to like Arthur, and I don't know who my third is going to be but I want it to be a marvel guy because the capes need love too. Still can't beat Galactus.

My favorites are Morrigan and Zero so far. I wanna like Spiderman but when I play as him I end up just flying around on webs and not doing anything helpful. x.x And yeah, it must not just be me then! Arcade mode is ridiculously hard.. I beat it the first time using my uber button mash technique, but ever since I can't get past the 3rd round!

Re: Games Discussion Thread

I can get to the last stage fairly reliably, I just can't beat the end boss. His lackeys tend to leave me at half health, and even if I take the continue and start at galactus I still get owned.

It really is one of the more amazing trailers I've seen in a long time. The linear cut version is interesting as well, but doesn't seem to have the fully impact as it doesn't open with a dead girl.

I just showed it to my sister. She threw a fit I was demanding her attention, despite how many inane things she demands I look at. However, once we got it rolling the reaction was very positive. I think she actually cried a little when it was over.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

Showed it to my two flatmates. One cried a little, and quickly tried to cover it up when she noticed we'd noticed. Game sounds interesting. If it's half as good as this promotional vid then it will be awesome.

But on to the initial reason I hurried to this thread.

How the hell have I not seen this til now, and why the hell was I not informed? I've been patiently waiting for the next Mech Warrior game to come, with the news of the reboot and such. But apparently a lot of fans have got fed up of waiting and took matters into their own hands, since for over 2 years there's been a MW mod in production for Crysis. "Mech Warrior Living Legends". It's not even finished yet, but the quality and design of it looks amazing.

(<< Slow technical tour)

(<< Explosions and combat)

God I hope my PC can run this properly. Will be looking into trying it out soon as I get home tomorrow. Starting to wonder if the official reboot game will be able to compete.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

Check it out. Free stuff for free stuff. Just gotta make sure you have an account.

Somehow, I don't think they'll have a hard time hitting that mark.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

I'll have to entrust others with this one, I don't want to chew up my downloads allowance :/

Galactus is the bane of my existence. Freakin' unavoidable lasers... It took me spamming Dante's Jam Session a zillion times before he finally died.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

Inaugural win team was Arthur, Amateratsu, and Deadpool on normal. I used one continue, and that was after beating the heralds and getting stomped by Galactus.

Now I'm gonna play it on very easy to unlock all the endings and such.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

Played some champions online for my first Superhero mmo ever and...Holy jesus im having a blast here. If you want a free alternative to DC universe, champions is the SHIT!

Re: Games Discussion Thread

The character creation in Champions is mind boggling. You can modify the body to ridiculous degrees, and the number of free costume parts available is equally impressive. Giving you the transportation power early helps you feel like a superhero. The combat is pretty standard MMO fare, but to mess with the creation alone it may be worth a try.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

Aren't the folk who designed Champions the same as did City of Heroes? Or they broke off from the CoH team? I recall a friend of mine who plays CoH talking about Champions and checking it out, but haven't looked into it too much myself.
