Speaking of, what has been changed/added/removed since the last build, aside from the forcefields, Crafting Table III's and Balkon's?

Re: ULMF Minecraft Server (Address can be found on first post)

I said Sunday as I'm busy on the Saturday, so you don't have to worry about that. And I'm not sure what time Sunday it'll be because I don't have work for the next two weeks so I'll probably be sleeping in. Though it should be around the afternoon my time.
Hmm. That raises the polar opposite problem. I'm 10 hours ahead of you, so if you start it at 2pm your time it's midnight here, and that's too late for me to play. I'll only be able to join if you're able to start around at least 1pm, preferably midday.

I was fiddling with a project using force fields and I found out that the redpower sub-blocks (the ones you make with the handsaws) will prevent a force field block from appearing in their square. You can use this to make holes in the force fields. They can't be larger than 2 in one direction though (so either a maximum of 2 blocks high or 2 blocks wide). Still enough room to make doors though.

Also, I'm planning a large gauntlet style dungeon with rewards at the end. I'm considering making a non-lethal one (where all of the hazards just drop you back to the beginning of that room, or the start of the dungeon) and a lethal one (with things like drops into lava if you miss a jump). The lethal one would have better rewards though.

A quick vote update, it's currently 5:2 in favour of Tekkit. Still got some time left if anyone else wants to cast their vote.

Speaking of voting, for those unsure or against it AND like making sexy structures but are frustrated by vanilla's lack of options I'd like to introduce to you . These delicious blocks of unlimited potential give you a far greater option for design. Always wanted to make a house that was one block type on the outside and a different type on the inside without making the walls two blocks thick? Well cut two types of blocks in half and you can slap those bad boys together to make a single, multitype block.

So even if you don't want to use any of the other, quite frankly, awesome shit from the pack you can still make use of those awesome sub blocks.

Maybe if Tekkit would not keep having recipes BROKEN at me... -,- srsly, playing on singular I had to admin cheat in order to craft stuff, even when I had all the recipe items... and yes, I just upgraded Tekkit :V

Also, Tekkit has Computercraft! You'll be able to make complex programs in the easy to learn language, LUA. This brings a bunch of new redstone powered contraptions to the table. Just picture the possibilities. Password protected files, games inside games, clocks displaying on a monitor in-game, visitor counter to your house (or an intruder detection system), servers inside the server, emailing... You can program alot of stuff inside of minecraft. Atleast i will, if Tekkit is integrated. Programming! Yay!

Really? No one?..
Alright. I'll head back to my corner.

Re: ULMF Minecraft Server (Address can be found on first post)

Honestly, I find Lua to be too simple. It's so simple it's inelegant. Might be because I come from a Java and ActionScript background. True you don't have to declare a type when making a variable (or table for that matter), but I never really found that an obstacle before. I also find that I get quite a few 'then expected' errors when saving scripts and I always go 'Right, you have to say If (condition) then (action) end'. Couldn't have If (condition) (action) and leave it at that. Loops have similar requirements. Still, it does allow programming inside Minecraft, and that's cool, so I won't complain too much.

Expect to see at least two computer terminals in the gauntlet once it's up. Don't worry, won't be asking anyone to write any code, one'll be a puzzle the other I'm thinking will be for dealing out the rewards at the end.

Anyway, final votes... are unchanged from yesterday. 5-2 for Tekkit. Rule's the only one who's given explicit consent to have it publicly known that he's voted against it.

I'll be taking the server offline for a few minutes while I install Tekkit and work out the kinks.

Re: ULMF Minecraft Server (Address can be found on first post)

Okay, Tekkit is now running on the server. Equivalent Exchange is disabled serverside, but unless you manually remove it from Tekkit, the EE blocks and items will still show up in NEI. You can't craft them, and if you somehow obtain them, the server will boot you. Already tested.

All of the old Bukkit plugins are running as well, including mcMMO, but I have no idea how it will work with things like gemstone tools or IC2's power tools. Same goes for Jobs, though that's not tied to using tools, just breaking blocks. Still, notify me if there's any problems with either of those two. Not sure what I can do about it, but I would at least be able to make it public.

Runecraft is still on, and I have no idea if the new blocks can be used in the runes or not. If someone can test that, that'd be great.

A new world has been generated. I'm just about to set up a portal at TENTACLE leading to it. No one's forcing you to play in the new world though. It was made so that people wouldn't have to go far away to get some of the new materials.

As usual, any problems, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

PS: I'm putting the Tekkit version on the first post so people know.

Re: ULMF Minecraft Server (Address can be found on first post)

Shouldn't there be a file or something with mcMMO and Jobs that allow you to configure them to use the block ID's for the Tekkit blocks?

Re: ULMF Minecraft Server (Address can be found on first post)

Well, I know you can set it up for the block IDs, but I was referring to the new tools. For example, digging dirt by hand won't give you mcMMO excavation experience.

But yes, the new Tekkit blocks aren't in Jobs or mcMMO's lists yet, so you won't get anything for mining them. I'm still getting things set up.

Edit: Timber was booting people, so it's removed. You'll have to chop trees the old way now. On the plus side, Woodcutters will get money for doing it and mcMMO will work.

Edit Edit: I had a look at mcMMO's configuration file, and I don't think there's a way to add new blocks to it... same with Jobs unfortunately.

Edit Edit Edit: Once in the new world, you'll see a gigantic bedrock cube hovering over the water. No it's not the Borg. That's the future site of the labyrinth.

For those that cannot access the server follow this;

In options at the login screen switch yourself to use the latest build in the drop down thingy. Also, and I'm not sure if this'll help, but change the memory allocation to 2gb.

Re: ULMF Minecraft Server (Address can be found on first post)

IMPORTANT

Placing Railcraft metal posts causes a rather severe error with Runecraft. I have no idea why it's happening (well, I kind of do, just don't know why Runecraft's trying to do something with the posts). So, for now, don't place any Railcraft Metal Posts (the ones made in rolling machines).

For the future, which do people want more, the ability to make runes, or Railcraft posts? Keep in mind, Runecraft might give more errors as time goes on, so it may end up going just because of that, but I'll hold off on that until that happens.

Edit: And Jobs is having problems when someone places obsidian...

Further Edit: Nevermind, found the problem there. Don't place blocks when targeting a force field.

Re: ULMF Minecraft Server (Address can be found on first post)

Okay, Jobs is, unfortunately, going to have to go. There's a few other options for generating money, like a daily thing if you log in. And then I can set up the shops to buy items for marked down prices.

With Tekkit now, economy should be more important as there's more valuable resources. Set up a rubber tree farm and sell resin for people who don't want to go looking for it, for example. Iron and Refined Iron in particular, with IC2, will probably be pretty popular commodities too.

Any changes are going to be done tonight. I need to shut the server down to make changes.

Not to mention Steel for railcraft and so on, as it makes way more track then standard rails.

Speaking of, I'll probably log in later to work on prepping my stuff for the rail system. Anyone know of any ender portals that are active? >_>

Haven't found any Strongholds yet... But the last world and the new one both have their own Ends, and their own Nethers. And the new one has the nether ores in it.

Re: ULMF Minecraft Server (Address can be found on first post)

Okay, server's configs have been fixed a little. mcMMO now works with the tools, blocks and armor added in Tekkit. Balkon's weapons are not working with mcMMO yet. They'll take a bit of time to add to the configurations and I'm really tired right now, so I'll do them over the next few days.

Jobs is gone, there's nothing in its place currently, so the amount of money in the world is fixed for now.

Balkon's Dynamite and Cannons don't break blocks now, and Creepers are fixed in the new world.

That's about it. A few notifications, you can't lock alloy chests or anything else added by Tekkit, that's a limitation of the locking mod, and nothing I can do about it. Either keep your essentials in a locked wooden chest, hide them somehow, lock your door, or do something else with them.

Also, I haven't tested this, but I suspect that the signshops won't be able to link to alloy chests either, but that's not as big of a problem.

Oh, and the warning from before about using metal posts is still in effect.

As usual, any bugs, let me know.

Re: ULMF Minecraft Server (Address can be found on first post)

Quick thought: do items in enderchests/ pouches share across worlds(even when they're not supposed to)/players?

Also, when Balkon's weapons are added, will they gain the benifit of the MCMMO skills (i.e. added damage for ranged weapons, added damage for axe-type weapons, added bleed for sword type weapons)?

If the pouches you're talking about are the alchemical bags then no, because they aren't available on the server. Aren't the Ender chests something that's part of vanilla but not available at the moment?

Re: ULMF Minecraft Server (Address can be found on first post)

Enderchests and Ender pouches in in Tekkit in the form of a mod. I haven't tested them working across worlds yet, but I'll do that and update here.

The mcMMO skills should work fine with Balkon's weapons once they're added. Might be a bit odd in some cases though. For example, activating an ability uses right-click, but activating some of Balkon's weapons special uses is also with a right-click. Still, even without the activatable abilities, they'd still get passive bonuses and abilities (like bleed chance) and build your experience.

One difficulty I'm having is categorizing all of the weapons. If people would like to give me a hand here, that'd be great. So far I have Battleaxes, Hammers and Halberds going into the Axes skill. Knives going into Swords. Muskets, Blunderbuss, Blowgun, Crossbow and Javelins going into Archery. And that's about it. There's still Spears and Firesticks (though who uses those?), unless I'm forgetting some more.

Update: Yes, Enderchests work between worlds. Please don't abuse this...
