Re: D&D campaign (to be named)

Well, to be fair we never rolled hit points, we just took the max.

We were usually drunk off our asses when playing, and that didn't help matters. But we just played to have fun.

Re: D&D campaign (to be named)

Question: Can I take a chipmunk as my animal companion, even though it's not on the list?

Re: D&D campaign (to be named)

I just realized that we don't have a Cleric or a Wizard. That means I might be dual classing eventually if lurker doesn't join.

A chipmunk?

So, so far it's:
pbird: Human Warlock
Ryu: Dwarf Fighter
Copper: Half Elf Rogue
Me: Human Fighter
Megamickel: Human Druid

Mef, Druid's can heal. Of course, they can't turn undead, but that's what the fighters are for :D

True, and they can get lightning, unless I'm mistaken. But still, now we can't go "ZOMG!!~! You killed our Cleric!"
And turning undead isn't useful if you have a dwarf to smash them, since it never works on the really dangerous undead like Liches and vampires anyway. In my experience, at any rate.

Re: D&D campaign (to be named)

...why do we need a wizard exactly?

Druids can heal perfectly well. If we stock up with a few wands and/or potions as well once we get a chance then we should be fine.

The 3.5 Core Rulebooks. I believe there was link to all the 3.5 books on the Tentacle Haven.

Wizards = enchanting equipment. And I want my Heartripper and lightning Gauntlet eventually damnit! That, and Druids/Warlocks never learn Cloudkill.

But...item creation feats are horrid to use. EXP cost. T_T

Edit: If it's that big an issue though, a warlock can enchant items from level 12 onwards, as long as they have the right feats, provided they can make a Use Magic Device check CL 15 + arcane spell level or 25 + Divine spell level

Meh. Unless dmronny tells me we're going to be getting a lot of magic items, or he's going to let us get things enchanted, it's the only way we're going to get any good items. I don't want to go through another campaign having my best weapon be a +1 short sword.

Re: D&D campaign (to be named)

There's this concept, it's called "Buy-ing things".

Unless he wants to run a low magic campaign, but if we're in a fairly standard campaign world - ~admits he didn't read much of the greyhawk summary~ - then they should be fairly easy to find/buy.

Re: D&D campaign (to be named)

Sorry about being absent yesterday, had some personal stuff to take care of, and didn't have the will to even look at anything. So onto questions I saw: Chipmunk animal companion is okay I would imagine you could use the stats for a rat since that appears to be the closest animal I can think of to a chipmunk. Hell if you wanted I would give you a miniature giant space hamster oddly they're even more prevalent in Greyhawk than the realms. Then you could name him Boo and start referring to pbird's character as your witch.

Healing shouldn't be a problem, since you have a druid and 2 character's with use magic device as skills. There should be plenty of magic items you can get a hold of, I'm not planning on low-magic. Especially since Greyahwk is home of Mordenkainen, Tenser, Bigby, Rary, etc., etc.

Here's the d20 SRD which has all the stuff Lurker should need for making a character.

Re: D&D campaign (to be named)

pbird: Why would I ever want to do that?

dmronny: Don't worry about it, real life is more important. Ahhh, Baldurs Gate....... I would have left that barbarian in his cage if I didn't think I'd get exp for freeing him.

Fair enough. So long as I can commission a Heartripper from some Wizard somewhere.

Re: D&D campaign (to be named)

Yeah, I wasn't a big fan of Minsc, but I have a soft spot for miniature giant space hamsters. Quick question Heartripper isn't ringing any bells, what is it?

That also reminds me at one point in the game you get offered some weapons in trade for something you're carrying. Trying not to give away plot here. I would like to try and customize them for the character's so in order to work on them I was wondering what you guy's were planning for you're character's as in multiclassing, prestige classing, weapon's you would prefer, that kind of stuff. If you're not really sure that's fine I'll still have time to work something out, it would just be easier if I had some idea ahead of time.

Re: D&D campaign (to be named)

I tend to just play a class straight through - so you can expect me to stay a Warlock ronny. Even when their main attack stops having quite as much ompf, then they start being able to do things like fly or go invisible at will which is highly useful. :3

Re: D&D campaign (to be named)

Your character will probably be the hardest to come up with something for, i mean really what can you offer someone who doesn't even need a weapon. Luckily I found a PDF for the book so maybe it will give me some ideas.

Re: D&D campaign (to be named)

Heartripper is a gauntlet. The one we found was adamantine, meaning it could go through most armor.
)

This is it's companion, or at least I think of it as it's companion, as we got them both in the same set of loot, and this one was left handed while heartripper was right handed.
)

And I'd horde my riches of course. Or buy crystal armor.

Uhh, Tass, both of those say "There is currently no text in this page, you can search for this page title in other pages or edit this page."
