Re: Multiplayer Gaming

I agree. I play battle medic a lot and thought they were nerfing it with the update (or at least that's what I had heard) but they made it even better. It's heal rates are ridiculous now, and one gun heals you as it hits people AND can get crits now? What the hell? Why even give it a medigun at that point? Especially considering the ubersaws ridiculous range.

And most people don't know this, but medics are actually slightly faster than the "average" class. It seems like everyone at 125 has pretty much the same running speed, and pyros are a little bit slower than that, but medics are faster. I believe they are the second fastest, beaten only by scouts.

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

Medics are indeed the second fastest, but pyro is just as fast as engie, at 100% move speed.

Demoman was at 93%, slower then normal.

And medics can be very powerful in combat when provoked.

Wait, the Blutsauger gets crits now? Holy shit! Now THAT'S an overpowered class.

And the medic got a buff regardless of weapons, +2 hp/sec extra, with the blutsauger having the no-crits thing changed to -2hp/sec(Putting the medic back at the same regen as before)

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

Basically, if you played the medic with blutsauger before, nothings changed except crits now. If you played with the syringe gun, you have a higher regen rate.

But technically, it's weird, its not just a base rate, you also heal more depending on how little hp you have and how long it's been since you've been attacked, so technically if you used blutsauger before, you have crits and SOMETIMES a higher heal rate.

It's REALLY powerful, but I still feel like theres a huge delay in the syringes hitting people, and a delay in getting healed. Idk why, it just feels really slow.

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

They replaced the no crits with -2hp/sec at one point. I'm surprised you didn't know, Dark.

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

I didn't like how they explained it that way, cuz it makes it sound like it loses hp. The truth is they increased the overall rate, so that minus makes it the same it always was.

Yeah, it does seem like that, but valve isn't really perfect in their description of..Well, anything. It is more of a technically correct way of saying things, and less of an intuitive way of saying it.

Besides that, I've found medics are still not too much of a problem, until they get that charge at 100%, and even then they need others around. (And with the skills of some of the people I've played against, I fully expect them to miss every single shot they take while charged.)

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

It's been my experience that a good battle medic -wounded or not can take 1on1 almost any class with the exception of a good juggling soldier.

It's my first go to class when dealing with a multi scout team, above engineer because I like to push forward, plus engie takes a lot of time to set up. Soldiers always a good go-to for everything though.

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

heh, I've grown my online gaming by 1 today. A.V.A., by Ijji, same peeps that did Gunz. They're doing the Open Beta nows, and I started out about 24 hours ago. Intense shooter, but it seems the counter-strike team found it, I keep getting sniped. You can set up three classes, a 'pointman' with SMG capabilities, a 'Rifleman' with assault weapons, and the 'Sniper' with rifles. Ability to switch between levels makes good adaptability and you can gain more and better equipment, even upgrading the weapon with various parts like silencers, weapon sights, and a sturdier grip, and various 'backpack' slots to boost your equipment, such as an increase to Flak Jacket resistance or more ammo.

Look for LeeroyBrown as you play, and either give a friendly wave or a headshot my way lol

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

lol double post

Anyone else picking up Borderlands? I'm gonna get it for PC of course, but I'm not entirely sure if it's Steam powered or not. I've heard a lot of things. We'll have to find out.

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

I just got Brutal Legend (umlaut in there...) and Uncharted 2 for PS3, and I may be looking into Borderlands on the Xbox depending on resources and such.
I REQUIRE MORE VESPENE GAS

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

Borderlands looks incredibly good, and I'm gonna get me a copy of it for the 'Box.

As for L4D2, I might look into it if there's ever a demo for it.

Re: Multiplayer Gaming

So yeah, Borderlands was good. Every game has it's complaints and I do have a few, but it was nothing ever more than irritating, but also a realization that other choices could have been MORE irritating. Overall, it was a great game.

Yeah, I preordered it on steam, which doesn't open up til tomorrow but one of my roommates bought it for the 360 this weekend so we spent the past 2 nights destroying it. So.... I never played the game before I bought it, but I beat it before I got it. ... wtf?
