Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it so much! I figured the firing rate cap would balance the skill cap a little more, make the game more about positioning than how fast you could spam the shoot button. Thanks for the bug report, by the way; I'd never seen that one before, so I'll make sure it gets fixed for the next update.
@ThatFluffyTail - It's more or less intentional - or more like it's been known for a long time but it doesn't really bother me. The more upgrades you get, the more exploitable enemies will be (like the phase shot, letting you shoot through walls), so I don't mind there being some "easy" strategies for certain enemies.
@Glyce - Thanks! AM2R was fantastic, I only hope Crisis Point can reach a fraction of that game's excellence.
@Soljer13 - It probably won't. Making an enemy for Metroid is a lot simpler, since they don't need H-scenes and AI that can potentially reach Alicia no matter where she ends up getting knocked down - nothing more frustrating than an enemy you just can't get to fuck you. Crisis Point will have about ~15 enemies with H-scenes, and a small number of non-H enemies, as well as around 5 bosses. Those are my plans, at least - I can guarantee there won't be fewer enemies than that, at the very least.
@nightshad - You didn't come across as begging, but I don't offer free downloads to the game in exchange for beta testing promises. That, and you didn't exactly sell yourself well in your PM - you said that one other person had hired you for testing, but you didn't offer any examples of your work to show how thorough you were at it, and the way you wrote it made it seem like you were trying to do me a favor. Most offers like this come across as "I want to play the game but I don't want to pay for it". Real beta testing is a grueling process and if I was going to give away free copies of the game for that, I want to know I can expect many hours of thorough testing of all the game's different elements in exchange for it.
Alright, now that the replies are out of the way, I have some.. incredibly irritating and unfortunate news.
One of my long-time patrons came to me recently and asked why he hadn't received the latest update after it came out, since I promised to give the update to everyone who had pledged enough during the few months with no updates. I had already sent out the update to everyone, so I was just as confused as he was. After looking into things, it turns out that Patreon recently changed their systems, and added the most amazingly idiotic 'feature' I've ever seen - when a patron cancels their pledge, every piece of information relating to them is PERMANENTLY REMOVED from my Patron Manager. This means that I have no fucking records of everyone who has pledged to me over the past two years, except for those people who are pledged right now. I've already gotten in contact with Patreon support about this but I'm still waiting on a reply to see if they have any way to help. I'm writing down every bit of information I can find about people who are pledged, but there are undoubtedly scores of people I'm missing.
If you've pledged to me at ANY point in time, PLEASE find a way to take a screenshot proving that you've donated at least $10 total throughout development, and either email or PM it to me, along with the email you want your eventual copy of the game sent to. I desperately want to fulfill my promise of free copies of the game to any of you who have supported me that much, and I'll be writing down pledges as often as I can going forward so this can't screw my plans over again, but as of now, I have no way to get a list of everyone who has pledged in the past anymore.
For contact, you can either reach me by PM on here, or at my work email:
