Re: Chapter 1 - Introductions Are a Plus

Eve deliberately took in a deep breath and said, "Alright, how do you feel about coming back here after we've gotten a little breakfast? Depending on who takes longer it should be alright to just wait here for the other one." She was using a cloth in her backseat to scrub off her makeup, making her look younger.

Fletch scratches his neck for a moment as he considers things. "Alright. I'll go along the river, I guess." Maybe there's somebody making a picnic, or a jogger. He doesn't feel too well with the idea of leaving her alone, but the big man figures Eve has her reasons she wants to go solo. Maybe she does want to go pedo hunting.

Claire stuffed the hard hat on her head and frowned. "Pissy Princes... guess even in the vampire world there are still those upper class pricks then eh?" she commented more than asked.

Eve and Fletch

Eve winked at him, "And I'll go be helpless and cute along one of the walking trails." She grabbed a length of rope from the front trunk of her bug as well as a small pad of paper and a pencil and then she made as good as her word, looking like she was maybe thirteen, hoping to make tonight easy for the police.

She ran through the plan in her head again, 'Alright, look cute, attract a pedo, scare the asshole, have him confess on paper, get a little breakfast, and then tie the creeper to a tree with the note and leave him for the police.' She fervently hoped this would work.

Fletch

Fletch didn't catch a lot of Eve's preparations. The big man has started to walk towards the nearby river, hands buried in his jeans. The cool night air doesn't bother him the least as he presses on. Now and then he peers into the dark. After a while he stops, takes a deep breath and concentrates on the shadows, trying to pierce through them like he did with Rash's hood. After a moment the shades lift. . .

Ronny

"Oh shoot I'm sorry." Ronny says as he goes to grab a napkin from the table and unfortunately knocks the jock's drink over.

((Gah! Life! It runs people ragged! Sorry for the non-posting.))

Rose plopped a helmet on her head, after visually inspecting it for anything disgusting. Dried blood for instance. Or some other filthy gunk. Or lice.

It was nice to know that they were doing something legally through magically-illegal means, like making ghouls. Wait... making people into ghouls worked? ...Really now, how could so many things that were 'make-believe' all be real and people not know they were real?

Claire smiled as Rose put her helmet on. "Thirsty dear?" she asked, moving close to her again, her smile not once wavering.

River's Group

Rosary, and everyone else who bothered to check, would find the hardhats clean. "Oh, I looove the Prince, but only bacause I have to." River says dryly. "But he sits too high to make out anything below him, in my opinion." She says with a snort, finishing writing the names down. That done, she motioned for the others to follow her, and leaves out the only other door.

There was a short hallway with a few door on either side, looking to be offices, then a set of double doors leading to the kill floor. River takes a quick look around, then heads over to what looks like the supervisor. The man spots them coming, and meets them halfway. "Tres?" He says simply, holding out a hand in greeting. "Quatro." River answers, shaking his hand and deftly passing the note and some bills over, nobody farther away than the group would have spotted it. The man didn't look at the new contents of his hand, just pocketed the entire deal as he nodded in understanding. "Ah, gracias amigo. Por favour?" He said, motioning the group to follow him as he headed off towards one of the other doors.

Eve and Fletch

Fletch spots a jogger a distance off almost immediately. The man was alone in a bright orange jumpsuit, wearing a drawstring backpack upside-down for some silly reason, and listening to some of the most horrendous music Fletch had ever heard. He didn't look like he had spotted Fletch back, but that would change in a rather short time if Fletch didn't stop making his eyes glow, which was now noticable due to his own hands in front of him lighting up.

Eve would still be walking the path, a few cyclists passing by uneventfully, going the same direction as her.

Ronny

"Son of a bitch!" The man yelled as his own beer was added to Ronny's on his lap. The girl giggled again, but gasped and went quiet at the jock stood and stared Ronny down. "That's it, let's take this outside!" He said angrily, reaching a hand out to give Ronny a shove to the shoulder.

Eve grumbles and heads deeper into the woods, now just looking for anyone, preferably someone homeless.

Fletch growls quietly and closes his eyes, trying to remember how to turn off the glow. After a bit he can feel the strange power fade, and he settles on following the jogger, moving parallel to him in the bushes. Something about that guy seems off - maybe it's the backpack or maybe it's the jumpsuit, but Fletch has the feeling that he should keep an eye on that guy for now.

Claire rolled her eyes hearing the man speak in Spanish, and resisted the urge to move forward and tear his throat out. Still she leaned over and whispering in Rose's ear.

"I bet he'd be an easy take down. I wonder what he tastes like," she said, quietly enough that the man couldn't hear, but she was sure River would.

"Not particularly thirsty..." Rosary squeaked out cringing away from Claire.

She followed behind the group, sweatdropped that, yes, this wasn't legal at all. Ghoul or not, there was some payment. Then again, she figured she'd have to live with it eventually seeing as she wasn't exactly human anymore. Do what one has to do to survive? She supposed that was the answer.

"Well... that's a shame dear," Claire muttered, before moving forward a bit away from Rose.

Re: Chapter 1 - Introductions Are a Plus

The two weeks since their embrace had seemed like eons, under River's tutelage. The newest kindred of Red Deer: Claire, Fletch, Eve, Ronny, Izzy, and Raven had risen as night fell expecting to find River had some new game set up for them in the warehouse. To their surprise she just sent them out to feed for a few hours while she did something back at the warehouse.

As the last of them began to arriveback in the warehouse. They found the building set up exactly as it had been the night of their embrace. Though River was nowhere to be seen, they all knew that didn't mean much as she had the habit of popping up in plain sight.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wether the others had noticed or not Ronny had slowly changed over the weeks. No longer morose like the first night he had taken to making suggestions through the other members of the coterie. Not really overtly manipulative suggestions, more like what he considered helpful suggestions for what River wanted them to do. He also had taken to standing behind people whenever they had to enter new places.

Ronny stepped through the doors of the warehouse with the others. When he saw the warehouse set up the same as the night of their embrace he asked almost to himself, though the others could surely hear.

"Hmm, wonder what River has planned for us tonight?"

Re: Chapter 1 - Introductions Are a Plus

Fletch has proven himself to be a willing, if a bit grumpy companion on their trips. He has found that he couldn't really associate with most of the (physically) younger vampires - save for Eve, based on their related fates. It's not that he dislikes them, he just feels awkward around them - like a 40 year old stumbling into a college party.

His quiet hum of Bruce Springsteen dies off as he sees the towers. Upon Ronny's remark, he shrugs his meaty shoulders. " 'nother game of king of the hill? Strange, figured we'd be past this," he rumbles mostly to himself.

Re: Chapter 1 - Introductions Are a Plus

(Not quite playing off the KotH remark, since Ronny explained in the OOC thread that's not the set-up currently.)

Not surprisingly, Izzy and Raven left the warehouse and returned together, much as they almost always did. Pending on the evening, they were sometimes later in arriving back than the others, unless something unavoidably important was going on, given that they were both college students and had classes to attend. In fact, in between River's lessons, the two of them would often hole up in a corner and work on their assignments.

Over the past couple of weeks, the young man seemed to have grown more comfortable around the group, not being quite as reserved as he had been initially and, whenever he did have something to say, the stutter that marred his speech had lessened considerably, at least when dealing with the coterie. Most of the time, though, it was the blonde that was the mouthpiece of the pair and Izzy had no problem sharing her opinion on various matters, though she was usually careful to consider what was being debated before chiming in. Usually. Mediating and planning is what her focus tended to fall under whenever they had a job to do, though she'd sometimes betray her age with something impulsive.

Tonight, they either had no classes or were blowing them off, returning from hunting relatively close to the others. Glancing around at the current state of the warehouse, Izzy shrugged. "Maybe it's Hide and Seek tonight.

Re: Chapter 1 - Introductions Are a Plus

River appears from the doorway leading to the basement, locking the door behind her as she leaves.

"I thought I told you all a couple of hours, where's everybody else at. We need to get moving, times a-wasting."

She beckons the four already there to follow her as she leaves the warehouse, again locking it behind her, before heading over to the cars to wait for the stragglers.

"I hope you've all been working at setting up a haven for yourselves during the day like I told you to. 'Cause you aren't staying here anymore."

((Hint, havens think about them, hint))

"I'd make a comment about finishing quickly, but that's just all sorts of let's not go there," Izzy chuckles, following the other woman out of the warehouse. At the mention of haven's, she nods. "Looking into it. Got a few places picked out. It's just making sure they're sun-proof. Or can be made to be."
