Eve was wearing something artfully grunge with a faux ripped tee and paint splattered jeans and had said paint smeared and dried on her fingers... again. It was a clear statement as to why she was late. She brushed her hair back from her face and groaned. "It's difficult finding some place that gives me what I want," she grumbled. "Nothing is..." she flicked scales of paint off her fingertips, "pretty enough." she finished lamely.

It was difficult to get the feeling across. Nothing had that spark, that little bit of beauty she was looking for.

Fletch grumbles. "I kinda been hoping to learn how to do that dirt... earth... meld thingy you told me about, but no luck. Been thinking about modding a van to be sunproof, but I figured that'd make me look like a child molester." He grimaces and casts a quick look in Eve's direction.
"For now I've covered the windows in my apartment with wood. The neighborhood's not really top-notch, so there shouldn't be any questions. Modding a car's still on my list, though. Got plenty of scraps I can use. Still, maybe no rape van."

Ronny follows along behind the others toward the cars.

"Yeah I've been worked on a few ideas myself. One's already set-up if anyone needs a spot for till theirs is ready. Though you may want a pair of boots to get there. Which reminds me are any of you good with animals? They won't let me get near them and I would kind of like to get something like a squirrel or chipmunk."

"Yeah, Fletch, unfortunately, you do have that working against you. No offense. Maybe just paint over the "Free Candy" spray painted onto the side and that might take the heat off. Last thing you want is someone thinking it is a rape van and busting the doors off the back of it when you're sleeping." She eyes him up for a second. "Too bad you're too big for a standard trunk. That might be a little less suspicious."

She could relate a little with Eve's lament. You wanted somewhere that you could feel at home, that made you want to live there. "What about finding somewhere and adding your own touch to it? Maybe that'd help?" She shrugs a little, not really having much of an idea on 'pretty' living spaces. She was used to the dorms and sharing rooms. Pretty didn't often factor into it.

Hearing Ronny's request, though, she archs a brow. "Should I ask why?"

River answers Fletch while lifting an eyebrow in Ronny's direction. "Just keep practicing in protean and you'll be able to do it eventually."

She reaches down and whips her cell out, "Yeah, River here....alright, meet us at the town hall, it's the weekly Elysium meeting tonight."

Putting her cell back she jumps in one of the cars and says, "Let's go, Claire'll meet us there, her hunt lead her a little off track."

Ronny laughs as he gets into one of the cars, "I guess that did sound kind of goofy didn't it, I was just looking to get a present for a friend, I guess. He doesn't get out all that much and he likes pets, something other than rats. He says they scare him when he talks to them, and there all he ever really sees."

Eve nods at Izzy. "There was one place... I could add some of my daytime paintings to it..." she smiled. "That might work, thank you!"

She fiddled around for a moment, before lovingly caressing her bug's hood and hopping back inside. She idled for a moment, making sure no one needed a ride.

Fletch thinks, his big brow furrowing as he gets into River's car. "Actually... maybe a SUV, weld some metal sheets into the back, separate the driver's cabin... Yeah, some extra mirrors and that'd work alright. There may be a Defender in the scrapyard somewhere..." Again, he's mostly talking to himself. Ronny's question has been noticed and filed as weird, but then again they're all vampires, for fuck's sake. It can't get much weirder.

"Rats. Charming." Izzy shudders a little. "Yeah, I can see why someone wouldn't want those around all the time." She's a little surprised at Eve's sudden turn. "You're welcome, I think," she chuckles.

She and Raven have her car, though they linger, too, although it mostly seems like folks have their own rides. Provided they are by themselves, she glances over at him at some point during the drive.

"So, what do you make of Ronny's request? Think it's anything we could help him out with or should we just let it go for the time being? Until we 'learn more'?"

Conversation aside, their destination is the courthouse. She parks a block or two away so there aren't a bunch of cars around the place. That, and any excuse for a walk at night, however short, is good by her.

"W-we c-could but I don't really know, s-something about him kind of creeps me out. T-that could just be because he doesn't say much and always seems to be staring at everyone though. W-we could always find out more first, and s-see what he wants it for." Raven says in response to Izzy.

Ronny drives the car, with River and Fletch, to a parking spot a few blocks away from the court house as well. With Eve not far behind them in her bug. A short walk later they meet up with Raven and Izzy near the courthouse to wait for Claire to show up before heading in together.

It didn't take long for Claire to show up, in her usual cargo pants, hiking boots and brown leather jacket whose sleeves ended at the elbows. Indeed it seemed the only thing she ever really changed was the t-shirt underneath the jacket anymore, and her pants had dirt stains on her shins and knees. As usual however the newest shirt had blood smears over the swell of her breasts.

Over the past few weeks she had grown more independent, refusing to rely on the group, and becoming more sarcastic and bitchy to the others, even continuously talking back to River. She had changed drastically since her night out in the wilderness alone after being embraced, from the tight laced middle aged police officer that had been dragged into undeath.

As she approached the others she stopped and crossed her arms across her chest, licking a fleck of blood on her lips.

"So, special occasion night then," she said simply, attitude still in check for the moment.

Eve kept her thoughts to herself. She wasnt all that fond of Claire, and pursed her lips at the slight mess.

"Fair enough. I'll pester him. If he refuses to answer, I'll throw some of the more creative things I know people use small rodents for at him." The grin suggests that it's probably a good idea he doesn't ask.

She waves to the others as they approach, not minding waiting for Claire to show up, but she does frown a bit when she catches sight of the other woman's appearance, the expression deepening a little at her comment.

"Could've cleaned up for it," she remarks, tone neutral but, if possible, her expression is a bit chiding.

When Claire shows up, Fletch stiffens somewhat. On one hand, she is a member of his own clan, and that's supposed to mean something to him. On the other hand, she's become more and more of a loose cannon, and loose cannons are a danger to the entire unit... Group, he corrects himself mentally.
When Izzy quips her remark, his hands tighten into fists. If shit goes down, he's gonna step in to keep them apart... he casts a look at Izzy and corrects himself again. He's gonna step in to keep Izzy's head on her neck. Nervously, he scratches his beard for a moment.

Raven blushes slightly at Izzy's suggestion obviously understanding what she means.

River doesn't really seem to be too much attention to the conversation at all, but finally answers. "It's the weekly Elysium, I'm planning on releasing you. If you can convince the Prince your ready that is. Hopefully he does, because I'll be glad when you're all out of my hair."

With that she takes off for the door leaving the group to follow her after they finish their family spat.

Ronny just observes the others from the back with an amused smile on his face. as the others discuss the "unkempt" appearance of their associate. Finally he turns away from the others to follow River to the town hall's side door.

Raven shuffles kind of nervously before reaching for Izzy's hand and tugging her slightly to follow Ronny and River to the building.

Eve was torn from her disappointing contemplation of Claire to follow River. "Wait, what? Are we going to get someone from our own clan to help us?" She hadn't yet had a chance to really speak with Mr. Alexander since that night, and she desperately wanted to know more about her clan.

Claire looked down at her shirt, and smirked. She looked as if she were about to say something before River spoke up and entered the court house.

"Released? About fucking time," she said, turning to follow her and Ronny, purposely turning her back to Izzy and Fletch.

A brow goes up, since she catches the almost statement that doesn't pass Claire's lips, but Izzy lets herself get distracted by the feel of Raven's hand around hers. She looks over at him and shrugs, joining him in the walk to the courthouse.

Arguing with Claire was something of a catch-22. Whether you said something or not, you were likely to encourage her behavior rather than curb it, but she'd be damned if she'd suffer through it in silence. She'd rather voice her displeasure than give the other woman the satisfaction of getting away with it.

Getting released would definitely be a blessing. If they were on their own, things definitely might be easier. Hopefully the Prince would agree with River's assessment, even if she were doing it to get herself some peace and quiet.

River ignores Eve's question as she hurries up to the door and knocks. The rest of the group catching up just as Jack opens the door with a grin before bowing them through.

"Ah River just in time, go ahead and take them into the courtroom. It won't be long it won't be much longer before Prince Ken makes his entrance."

As everyone enters in to the main courtroom, Jack once again seats them in the front row before taking his spot in the witness box. Adam stands in the bailiff position, with Vincent and Alexander taking the spots of the prosecutor and defendant respectively. The ten kindred seated in the jury stand seem to be taking a much bigger interest in them this time as they discuss among themselves. Alexander turns to the group and gives them a reassuring smile before leaning over and whispering.

"I will do most of the talking, but if the Prince or one of the Primogen asks you a question just respond politely as best as you can."

Looking around at the rest of the fifty or so of their fellow kindred they see quite the odd mix scattered about the room but a few of them stand out a bit more than the others. One an extremely punky looking girl barely above Eve's height seems bored beyond tears as she fiddles with an MP3 player. The woman from the Vat is seated in the middle of the room by herself, as if no one is willing to sit near her. Another young man seems to be staring rather intently at River, who seems to stare back at him just as much.

Ronny sits on the end with one arm crossed over his chest the other rubbing the stubble on his chin as he studies the other kindred in the room.

Raven sits nervously between Claire and Izzy, clutching her hand tightly.

Eve lets out a sigh of relief at Alexander before she seats herself next to Ronny with a small, nervous smile. Polite. Calm. Oh I hope my accent doesn't get worse. It always gets worse around authority figures...

Sitting between Raven and Eve, Claire pulled her jacket tighter, leaving only a hint of her stained t-shirt exposed. Her fingers drummed impatiently on an armrest as her eyes flicked around the room. She had her lips pressed tight together forming a thin line as she awaited her freedom.
