Re: Chapter 2 - The Calm Before the Storm
Cody looks thoughtful for a moment. "Hmm, nobody I know off the top of my head. I'll run the description anyways." He says after a few seconds, then heads back to his computer and turns on the right screen. This one seems dominated by what looks to be security cam feeds from about thirty different cameras. The pair are able to pick out a couple street cameras, a guard station somewhere, and a convenience store security camera while Cody types furiously. A few seconds of that and he turns the screen off again and turns back to them.
"It will probably be a few minutes, I'll give you two the grand tour in the meantime. As you can see, this is the main area here. My stuff in this corner, kitchen in that one, entertainment along the one wall, and most of the rest is excersize space for River." He explains, pointing an arm for emphasis as he goes along, then motioning for them to follow as he leads them to the wall with the doors.
He opens the first door to reveal an ordinary-looking bathroom, except that the small window above the tub has been sealed off with a sturdy-looking hatch. "Bathroom. Hatch there opens, for an emergency exit if we have to leave the place. 'Course, it's a forty-foot drop for anyone that can't move like she can, so I don't know how I feel about taking it, but you never know." He says, closing the door and moving on to the next room.
The second door opens to reveal a bedroom, with a pair of single beds along either wall. There's a built-in closet, a freestanding closet, and a pair of bedside tables, as well as what looks like an attic entrance in the roof, which is odd for an apartment. "Bedroom, clothes ands stuff, etcetera. Crawlspace access as another escape route, as well as a wall panel that has been stripped down to just two layers of drywall, for an easy break-through to the empty apartment. I swear, she is one of the most paranoid people I've ever met, and you should hear about some Malkavians I know." He says with a chuckle, closing the door and moving along.
The third door opens to what looks like a cross between some sort of pawn shop slash trophy room. every wall has some sort of shelving on or beside it, with two additional rows of shelving down the middle. only about 40% of them have something on them, but the assortment of random items is still staggering. There's a countertop jewelry closet with maybe a dozen earrings, necklaces, and rings in it, a rug rolled up on a center shelf, various small pouches (One of which smells rather bad, like cat droppings), coins, a wrinkled, severed hand, guns, a japanese katana, you name it. "This is River's trophy room. She has a habit of taking a token from everybody she's killed, half of these were from Sabbat She wiped out as a peace offering to the prince when she changed sides. She kept it all after she showed them off, of course. Don't know who exactly most of them are from, but she keeps adding to it, every other week or so. I do know that she's saving that spot..." He explains, pointing to the center of the back wall, where there's a bedroom dresser that matches the bedroom bedside tables, with a large mirror. The center of it is left conspicuously empty. "...For Deacon's head, should she ever collect it. personally, I don't know what she's thinking, he's old enough to probably ash if she ever manages it, but I'm not going to tell her." He chuckles again. "Go ahead, take a look around."
