Choosing to head to the narrow alleys to perhaps impose a block on the creatures path. The trio dashed to a nearby narrow street and rushed some way inside, before four enemies blocked their path! The three corrupt seemed to awaken and stand, completely shutting the girls path onwards. Worse yet, with a screech one of the howlers seemed to crawl along the wall and jump to join forces with the others!

Still as the girls inspected their blockade before them, with a powerful slam looking back the trio could see the dark entity try to squeeze inside one of its hands grasping for them though the girls were far out of reach! Yet Jennys sharp eyes quickly noticed the crumbling buildings walls, being forced aside as the beast was trying to squeeze inside! Howling out once again! "Damnit..." "What now?" her companions looked to Jenny as the leader.

"We go threw!" Not flinching one bit let loose a barrage of rounds into the first corrupt not backing down. Grace meanwhile summoned forth a power angelic attack to strike the second corrupt. Meanwhile Riley got an awfully clever idea. With a tip of her hat and wink she brought forth her own magics.

Jenny uses rapid fire dealing 23 damage! Corrupt dies.
Howler uses Howl of Horror dealing 6 WP damage to the party!
Riley repositions Howler.
Grace prepares Angelic Wrath.

Corrupt 2 uses dark slash dealing critical damage to Jenny! 16 damage done [14/30 HP left]
Corrupt 3 uses Tether on Grace, but Grace parries the effect.

Dark entity deals 18 damage to the Howler! Killing it.

Jenny leapt to action was she lead the charge and echoed out commands, while the girl herself aimed down and let loose a flurry of shots at the nearest corrupt creature each out striking with surpreme force! The assault proving more than enough to make the creature fall back defeated and smoldering golden aura from the explosive shots!

Meanwhile the Howler seemed to take a breath and let loose a supernatural cry, enough to make the whole party cower as sheer darkness and despair seemed to eat at their willpower! Riley however seemed the most resilient, as she'd almost instantly recoup and with a smirk opened a portal just beneath the creature? The creature fel through and just as it looked around it saw the Dark entities massive fist fly towards it and slam it aside with force!

Grace however wasted little time as well, as she'd summon forth a floating spear of golden energy, gold lightning sparking off it as she'd aim for one of the corrupt--- "Jenny look out!" the angel cried out as indeed the same corrupt she was aiming at it, rushed at the heroine!

By the time Jenny turned to face the creature its hand had warped into a blunted axe slamming the dark weapong into the girl with absolute force and sending her upwards and into a tumble! Jenny needing even a moment to absolutely gather herself as the blind-side strike seemed to hit with devastating efficiency!

"Leave her alone!" Grace called out, seemingly drawing the attention of the other corrupted as it let loose a tether at her, but it seemed to bounce of her protective shield!

All the while the rumbles of the buildings and efforts of the dark entity behind them echoed out as it seemed to be making progress and getting closer!

Jenny coughed as the blow sent her up and into the wall. Bouncing off the wall Jenny blinked a moment before bringing Frost up and aiming at the final corrupt trusting Grace and Riley to carry the day. Wither magic finishing up Grace let loose hoping to finish off the corrupt creature before Jenny was struck again. Riley quick on her feet let loose an arcane blast targeting the secound creature just in case Grace didn't finish it off.

Jenny lets loose with rapid fire dealing 21 damage. #3 dead
Rileys uses blast to deal 7 damage to Corrupted 2.
Grace finishes off Corrupted 2 fro 18 damage!

Jenny still felt herself a brief moment lost as the fight seemed to have ate away at her sense "Jenny!" though Rileys voice seemed to bring her back as the trickster rushed to the girl and helped her up with a smile "Come on, no time to space out!" she'd beam her a confident smile as the trio got back to the battle!

Her resolve briefly bolstered, the girl rushed forward and once again drew her revolver! Letting loose a flurry of shots at the other corrupted creature! The three shots flew try and each one once again hit for devastating effect, the corrupt that kept the elven girls body controlled once again splashing away from her leaving her unconscious!

Meanwhile, her companions focused on the last enemy standing as Riley let loose an effortless blast of purple energy "All you Grace!" she'd call out as she ducked out, just in time with the angelic holy spear to pierce through the air and strike the creature akin to lightning! The black ooze sliding off the girl...

All the opponents lied defeated... however "CROAAAAAAH!" the dark creatures roar once again echoed out, this time making Jenny cower from fright, her legs giving way! Though thankfully her friends caught her just time! "We're almost through! Just a bit longer, Jen!" they'd encourage her as thankfully the way forward was clear.

Jenny's mind spun at the back something whispered dark sweet words. Blinking Riley snapped her out of it. Right there was a fight something was.. yes the corrupt. Raising Frost Jenny let loose a hail of fire before dragging herself up with help from Riely and Grace only for a roar to almost take it right out of her again. Still the trio fled from the fight and quickly ducked away from the alley heading for a nearby by hopefully empty building to hide and recoup in.

The girls rushed onward through the valley the dark creatures cry and efforts echoing behind them, but slowly turning more and more distant. With a final roare, the girls turned and slipped inside one of the buildings, the rickety door slamming shut behind them! For now they had escaped...

"Phaaa~" Riley sighed with relief as she'd sit down on the stairs, her head arched back "Dear gods this place is horrible..." she'd snicker and turn to the duo with a smile. Meanwhile Grace seemed to instantly rush to heal Jenny up "That was a nasty blow you took... I'm sorry I didn't use my spell fast enogh." she'd glance down allowing her magic recoup the heroine.

Looking around Jenny seemed to be in one of the abbandoned residential buildings. The girls were in the entry hallway of what seemed a private multi-storied building. On the first floor as far as Jenny could see, there appeared to be some stairs, a kitchen, a baths room and a roomy living room complete with some dusty... but otherwise decent furniture.

"Its okay Grace fighting gets messy. I was reckless and rushed in." Looking about Jenny let Grace tend to her wounds. "This place seems safe enough lets rest here a bit." Taking out some food Jenny passed it around before nibbling on the dried rations. "So Riley what did you find to make that thing so angry at you? Oh I almost for got take a look at this too." Jenny would hand over the papers she had gathered.

Riley smiled widely "Glad to see you two safe and sound... and thanks for the save, that thing was really out to get me." she'd take the offered snacks and nibble on it as Jenny asked her question "Well... after we got seperated, at first I tried to reach you two, but you've managed to atract too huge a crowd. So~ instead and went to the only standout building I've seen nearby - the Temple of Naia."

"Thankfully these things don't seem any smarter than the puppets in the Academy so getting there was simple enough... once there however, thats when things got a bit more rough." the girl winced lightly "It was infested, especially the main floor below." Riley seemed to remember something "Infact, oddly enough it seemed like they sort of attempted to worship the altar there. Saw all manner of junk dragged to it and pilled up nearby."

The Trickster looked outside the window briefly, before continueing "Thats when i got the brilliant idea to try and funnel them up and burn them away." the tactic rang very familiar to Jenny for some reason "It kind of worked, except when defeated the black oozes from the bodies lingered and began to gather together."

"Next thing I knew they formed into a solid body, which quickly grew in size and turned sentient." Riley shuddered lightly.

Jenny thought a moment her food half eaten. "So the thing is capable of forming into smaller creatures. Even if we defeat them the essence just moves to another or forms into another creature." She sighed and finished up her food. "Everyone good to go? We got to reach the stones its the only way we can beat this thing for good."

If ever one is rested and healed head out stealthy like trying to resume their course the to watcher hq

Riley thought "Not... always. I mean we took out three of them on the streets and I beat a few on my own. Every time the ooze seemed to dissipate. Maybe there has to be a catalyst or special condition..." the trickster considered audibly "Perhaps its just if a lot of the ooze are close to one another, or maybe some of the corruption has a unique property to it. Like being prime of sorts." Grace chipped in as well, smiling to the duo as she too nibbled on her snack.

Still as things were right now, the girls could only guess around... yet Riley still had some thoughts on the paper Jenny found "These are not the same creatures, but they share similarities. Did you notice?" the trickster showed the papers that seemed from the beastiary "The Sirens are like those howling things, while the cursed might be what the corrupt are right now." she'd look to it "Which could mean this place was already haunted, yet whatever moved in here amped it up further." Riley looked back to the page "Maybe if we find more of these, they can hint at what sort of things we're fighting... or might yet fight."

Though their brief break seemed to not linger for long, though did it spur a lazy stretch and groan from Riley "Doh~ I guess we have to. Still got the map?" she'd smile to Jenny, who upon checking her pockets and bags had only bad news in that regard "EH?!" Riley sighed cutely "Back to improv I guess."

"Hey, maybe not. Look!" Grace seemed to smile as she looked out the window joined by both Jenny and Riley as they looked in the same direction only to see... a coppery gate with an grandiose elven inscription above it! Riley seemed to narrow her eyes briefly "Craftsmen! Thats the Craftsmen district!" she'd beam a bright smile and give Grace a quite incidentally intimate hug! "Good job!" the trickster grinned to the girl, who seemed to blush subtly.

Thankfully their path forward seemed to be clear. Yet judging by the subtle orange hue across the city, Jennys plan for a single day trip seemed all too naive and optimistic now.

"Alright lets move while we still have some light alright." Leading the way Jenny kept her blade ready for any surprises. Still as they crossed over and under avoiding what foes they could Jenny would call a halt once the shadows started getting too deep hopefully a nearby building was in good enough condition to house them for the evening.

It was never simple. Perhaps that was the resounding thought rushing through all three of the girls mind as they indeed seemed to find the gate to the craftsmen district... yet right beyond it the road was blocked off. One of the buildings seemed to have collapsed right onto it!

"Must this place be so difficult..." Riley sighed, while Grace kept an optimistic smile "I can fly us over." yet Jenny noted there was a clear opening through the ruined building, to their right. Not to mention the building there was already beyond the gate, meaning they could potentially head deeper in through there.

Jenny looked at the possible entrance and thought the flight idea over. She had not seen nor heard the harpies for awhile. That of course didn't mean they where gone. Nodding Jenny made her choice. If it had been fully dark she would have Grace fly them over but given the light was still with them Jenny would try for the opening. "Ill go first you guys follow after. I don't another slime incident.

While the orangue hue of dimming light enveloped the city, the light was still there even if not full-bloom. Deeming it too bright to fly over, Jenny would point out the side passage and order the girls to follow only after her.

"Slime incident?" Riley blinked and smirked slyly "What WERE you two doing without me?" she'd lean forward speaking in a clearly teasing and playful tone, which at first confused Grace... before she understood the insinuation the trickster was making! "W-we've stumbled onto a nest, but got away in time." the angel girl explained with a subtle blush.

Still as Jenny went first, she'd duck beneath and note that the passage lead into a lower chamber. Warmth instantly rushed over the girl as some, while it seemed dim she could clearly hear sounds of fighting ahead? As steel against seemed to ring out again and again.

Jenny's ears perked as she moved forward with more determination. After all if combat was going on then it either meant a survivor or that stranger that unlocked the door. Eitherway with the extra noise she could move a bit faster.

Motioning an all clear for the others, soon enough all three girls found themselves in the warm dark cellar. Some wooden chests laying across the wall, their contents unknown.

Still the clanging of steel was absolutely unmistakeable as Jenny and co, neared the source. Though just as they did, so did both the volume and number of echoes increase as well! With the chamber up ahead illuminated in a orange light Jenny peeked inside and paused as she found herself inside a forge?!

Clang after clang echoed out as atleast forty blacksmith anvils echoed out as floating enchanted hammers smashed against them. All lined up in rows, as they appeared to make weapon after weapon in tandem. Yet each completed work appeared to be quickly thrown into the small river of molten steel along each side.

Jenny looked back and sigh a bit of relief though the thought of all the hammers animating to attack them bothered her. However she turned back with a smile and moved to the chests and inspected them.

Meanwhile her companions did not seem to share the girls subtle dread as they looked on in wonder at the enchanted forge still working hard in the abbandoned city "Wow... this must've taken an extraordinairy amount of magic!" Riley approached one of the anvils looking it over from some distance as not to disturb or get splashed with the sparks flying from it.

"Jenny?" Grace meanwhile quickly noted the heroine turn right around and head back? "Where are you going?" "Eh? Jen?" the duo approached with some concern, though concern Jenny quickly calmed down as she'd only head back to investigate the boxes they had seen.

Unfortunately whatever wonders the girl hoped for, were quickly dashed as these seemed to only piece loose pieces of dusty leather and steel blocks. All the boxes contained little else but some materials for the forge.

As she'd return not much seemed to change as the forge continued its eternal toil. Admitedly oftentimes the girl did notice that the swords that would otherwise be discarded appeared of relatively excellent quality! Even if Jenny could only view them briefly before they were melted to steel once again.

Seemed the forge by some cruel mishap of fate turned eternal, while its toil never produced any results! No doubt the crafted weapons previously were stored or taken away... not melted into new material again and again!

Still looking around there was a clear double door exit out of the area right infront of them, as well as a side entrance to their left with some stairs illuminated by the yellow glow.

Looking at the boxes did provide a bit of disappointment but it also sparked an idea. Taking one of the boxes Jenny moved quickly into the forge. It was a marvel. Standing watching it work for a bit Jenny smiled at the two girls. Its a shame to let such well crafted elven blades go to waste. Winking at them Jenny hefted her box over to where the swords would be dropped into the molten steel and fetch three from different work stations. After that was done Jenny would let the metal cool before handing out the newly minted swords to each of them. "Who knows if this works maybe the elves can come back to this place. Its almost sad to see this place with out its head craftsmen. After awhile Jenny looked at the room again it was safe but loud the girls would find no rest here. Hopefully further inside they could find a quieter room to rest.
