Speaking of comics, I just read the most recent "The Walking Dead" trade paper back. Damn, what a demented twisted storyline. The series really is about the fall of humanity rather than the rise of the zombies. Where else will you read about a pregnant woman getting shot through the stomach, killing her and her unborn child in front of her husband and son. And its not handled with the idea of "ha we shocked you with that didn't we!", but is actually written in a mature fashion.

The characters have all been put through so very much, have changed so very much, and the choices they have to face each and every issue is startling. No true black and white moral choices like most video games present. More along the lines of "This child just carved up another kid without really knowing what he did. Way back when we would have put him into therapy and shoved him into some detention centers, but now we don't have this choice, so do we keep him along, or do we kill him?" is just one. While to the reader the choice may or may not be obvious, to the folks who are actually facing down killing this ten year old boy, it's something a little harder, especially with the parents who are totally against such a thing.

After reading the series I knew comics had truly come into their own with mature subject matter, and that people can not only handle it in a medium once thought for children, but actually quite enjoy it.

Indeed. Though his work on Marvel Zombies was indeed hilarious, Walking Dead is just amazing.

The main character is basically the son of that universe's Superman (Omni-man is his name), who leads a normal life as a high school/college student til he starts developing powers of his own, and thus the tale starts! I won't really tell all that much, since shit hitting the fan isn't that rare of an event.

It's interesting. Harry's Family was out of the country, living in Germany, when Voldemort took over Britain. Reads it! I won't spoil the pairing...

The way the social structure is set up is awesome. It explains everything, so just reads it :3

TODAY'S MSN FANFICTION, AS DICTATED BY ME TO SOMEONE

Harry: YOUR PLAYSTATION IS SUCH A PIECE OF SHIT DUDLY JKLASDJKLKAJSSLKDLKA *goes away to school where they live in a fucking stone castle that probably has shitty property value*

That happens in the lost book, 'Harry Potter and the Mystery of Hogwart's Plumbing Issues'.

Harry's magic career ends up falling through following the worldwide recession, and he ends up going to a trade school. Eventually he ends up evaluating the cost of Hogwarts itself, due the immense size of it calling for someone who has been there before.

And Draco Malfoy? Insurance Agent for A.I.G.

Voldemort also ends up as CEO of Goldman Sachs, having finally reached the final form on his path to becoming the ultimate evil.

At the end of the story, Hogwarts ends up being repossessed, and Hedwig along with all the other magical creatures are liquidated as the property tax is paid off.

Hagrid ends up becoming a janitor in London, only to be found molesting children at a local library.

Hedwig ends up as museum fixture, and Hermoine finds herself as a seamstress in the local stuffed animal factory, toiling away until her untimely death at the age of 31, due to inhaling asbestos over a period of seven years working there.

Ron goes insane and ends up mailing anthrax to each member of Parliment in an attempt to 'Repeal the Nightly Lemon Tax of 1778'. He is shot and detained by police after an intense 13 hour stand-off outside his house. He is not heard from again after this incident.

THE END.

Holy crap necro. But it is for a good cause.

I recently began reading a Pokemon fanfic called The Sun Soul. While I thought the name alone was kinda goofy, as the anime itself was, I was dead wrong. The whole fanfic is centered around a kind of realism that pokemon has never seen. It focuses on several aspects that you would encounter on an "Adventure in the wilderness." in real life.

And let's not forget the detail. The gorey, juicy detail. The author goes into detail often about exactly where the pokemon/person is being hurt, which adds more to the realism that normal fans would never expect to see in regular pokemon.

All in all, I give it an 8 out of 10, as the author has spelling grammar issues that are a pet peeve of mine.

it's a rather interesting Harry Potter story so far. It says it's an HP/SS story, but I can't see it yet. Has promise though
