Re: Games Discussion Thread
Yeah, I probably meant that. A shiny official one. After all, if the fans are making their own, then I'd say there's probably a market for it right? I'm thinking possibly a guild wars style pay system, since I hate subscription fees and Pokemon fans have proved they will buy the same game in different packaging already. Maybe unlocking islands and access to tournaments with each game disc, with each release representing a membership card or travel pass.
I was imagining stylised 3D graphics, allowing a bit more scope for the game world and more character for the player avatars (Kitler's proposed re-mastering is also worth considering...). Freedom and customisation would be important. I would want to be able to freely choose my preferred style of silly trainer hat without someone identifying me as a noob because it's one of the few options everyone gets at the start. An expanded battle system would be interesting too. Likely mainly based on the old turn based system, but I'm sure there could be more scope for clever battling tactical stuff somehow too. Since pokemon would get traded all over the place, a system to determine how well the critter trusts you or any new master would be relevant. Also riding em in a 3D landscape. Doesn't that sound fun? Including any flying critter large enough to cope.
I'm somehow failing to think of the new and interesting part I was sure I had ideas for a while ago, so I'm going to stop trying to say how this game should be for now. It's just strange that as someone majorly disillusioned by the MMO genre, and not really much of a pokemon fan either, I find the concept of a Pokemon MMO so interesting.
(She's even painted her lips... I wonder how long that paint stayed on.)
