Re: Hate Thread
Unless it's a limited production # the manufacturer will just make more, so in essence the "collectors" are kind of just driving the price down and therefore screwing themselves. I know this doesn't help you get one now, but the thought of someone hurting themselves through stupidity always lifts MY spirits.
And jesus christ, I hate the idea of amiibos (which I was just made aware of) as a content unlocking system for games. I mean I don't like DLC but that's a whole other rat's nest, I can at least accept that it's not a COMPLETELY unreasonable method of content distribution. Edit : apparently there are people hacking amiibos/games to get at the stuff nintendo has locked away, you might want to look into that Lila, if content is what you're after.
Yeah, they're cool models, and I would actually consider buying some, if I had the money to spend on overpriced plastic. But having content you can only access if you have one for a game? It's insidious (genius from a marketing standpoint, but since I'm not profiting from it, fuck you nintendo), and not to mention something I would have thought beneath nintendo. TBH unless they start offering a digital, unlimited and instant way to unlock that content I won't be buying another nintendo product.
