Re: Helping a friend

I know, ever since obi and momiji moved out you've been our pet troll.

but yeah see my point, the only thing that would create elite members is the beliefe that there are elite members.

Re: Helping a friend

Did you ever unban Obe?

And yeah I see your point, which is why I was wondering if what I said is what Dark meant because apart from that one time I've never heard nor thought of any of us as 'elite members'.

Re: Helping a friend

well dark may have a different perspective because of the amount of things he has to read in the hentai section.

also as for obi, he was literaly trying to push things as far as they would go because he was done here and going for laughs. i actualy got on quite well and played some games with him and his crew over steam.

Re: Helping a friend

Look at your rep bar, that's how you tell if you're elite or not.

lol, I'll never get to light green!

Re: Helping a friend

i guess its just the newer members that dont understand that the older members dont care about rep or how long you've been here.

Re: Helping a friend

As far as I've seen, the rep system is just leveraged for some cheap laughs.
....I should really get in on that.

Re: Helping a friend

Perhaps it's like not caring how much money you have when you're worth billions?

I mean, if you put 2 of the green bars stacked ontop of eachother on the left end it'd be a perfect phallic refrence.

I miss those times...

But what I mean by elite members is that people have started to hold themselves in higher regard to lurkers. Nunu is correct in that my time in the hentai section kind of affected how I think these days. Time after time, I see people who see a new person and, in reaction to a stupid post, hurl every insult they can, then circle jerk with other people with higher post counts and take turns kicking at them rather than do anything productive. I'm not apologizing for the fact that people have reprimanded him for posting without any show of understanding of how we conduct posts. I'm apologizing for the fact that not a single person, other than possibly Hentaispider (Sorta, kinda), had even a modicum of politeness when pointing out what he did wrong.

And granted I'm one of the last people to be saying anything about being kind to lurkers. I WROTE Lurker Wars. But in those cases, these people were acting extra stupid and were lining themselves up for me to flame them. But in cases like this, where it's just belligerent flames that only serve to make the image of the forum look terrible, even I have to say something.

When everybody just jumps into a thread like this to take turns bashing at the newbie, all it does is make it seem like the rest of us act the same way. That, at the slightest wrong move, we will relentlessly hound at you and never let you live it down. Maybe I'm just softening up or something, but when you look at it from the perspective of a lurker, all the veteran members here look incredibly elitist.

I love you guys, and I love to hate on stupidity, but this isn't how we should be doing it. If you're going to jump on someone like this, it has to at least KenFJohnnedy or Supermeme level or something.

Is this possible, Nunu? I'd laugh my ass off it it is.

Re: Helping a friend

But how would we make it more degrading to be in the red?

Re: Helping a friend

perhaps the 'balls' and the one touching them could be blue?

Re: Helping a friend

I like it.

Re: Helping a friend
